Chapter 25: Rookie and Legend (Jeff, 2/2)
Chapter 25: Rookie and Legend (Jeff, 2/2)
"What?"
Ars may have heard wrong.
"Abyssal Radiation strengthens when the ceiling is bright, that is, when daytime. It's like a fire that gets hot if you get close to the source. Emissions from Abyssal Radiation appear due to light entering Abyssal Terra. In other words, since that time you were jumping over this forest in the afternoon, the emissions from the Abyssal Radiation are being thin and probably won't have much of an effect on your body."
"Are you serious?"
"Not really."
"You!"
Ars' emotions rose the more Jeff played with him.
"Calm down."
Jeff got up from his seat, walked to the porch of the house. He took a sip of warm water straight from the thermos.
"The reason why I said that you might be fine, is because your body is trained. But that doesn't mean that a little radiation isn't harmful to your body. "
Ars took the lesson calmly. Let Jeff finish his lecture.
"No matter how strong a hunter's body is, their body won't be able to receive so many emissions from the Abyssal Radiation. The only way to deal with that dangerous phenomenon is to get your body used to it. "
"You mean, get our bodies used to that radiation in order to increase immunity?"
"To some degree, yes. But back to the starting point, nobody can withstand the massive emission from Abyssal Radiation. Unless you are willing to let your body become an Abyssal Radiation emission bomb."
"I don't tf know who could be stupid enough to do that. More importantly, how do I get my body used to that radiation? Is there some kind of training?"
When it comes to getting used to it, of course the only way is to train yourself.
"Course there is."
That brief answer was enough to make Ars relieved.
"You just need not interact at high altitude until your breathing becomes normal."
"My breath?"
Ars tried to inhale his breath manually. Sure enough, he felt like his nose blocked and made it a little difficult to breathe.
"Emissions from radiation will only infect through the respiratory tract. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't worry about your outer body and your clothes."
Of course, Ars knew that after he realized the dangers of radiation.
"Wait, then, there must be special clothes to ward off radiation, right?"
In the outside world, yes, there is. But if it's in Abyssal, where no technology can get inside, Ars doesn't know. He also didn't know why the idea got into his head.
"Course there is."
"There is?!"
"But those clothes are very expensive. If I remember correctly, it costs around 50k cash. "
"That expensive?!"
Ars had anticipated his surprise. But he did not think it would be that expensive.
"Those clothes are very difficult to make. And its use is only for Flower Pickers to pick flowers in Flowerise Paradise."
The longer the conversation lasts, the more information that has to be put into one episode. Ars also cannot swallow all of that information in one conversation.
"Alright! Just tell me, tell me how I can hunt them down, and is there any way to keep me from getting lost in the depths of this forest? Because last time it forced me to fly so I could see where I was going."
"Hmm, you're asking more and more questions. But unfortunately, I don't have the energy anymore to answer your question. "
"You!"
Jeff asked for another fee to open his mouth.
Course that annoyed Ars. Because he had handed over a 10k sword, but Jeff was still willing to ask for a fee.
"Okay, if that's what fucking you want!"
Ars reached into his pocket, then took out a meat loaf as big as a palm.
"This is what you want?!"
That meat loaf quite big, and it couldn't be seen that Ars kept it in his pocket. But Ars took the meat loaf out of his pocket.
"Hmm." Jeff made to think twice before picking up the loaves. "Good, it turns out you are a man full of readiness. I'm a little unexpected."
"Now answer my question!"
"Calm down. I'm not going anywhere. "
In other words, Jeff told Ars to wait after he had finished eating.
The veins in Ars's head throbbed - holding back his emotions - as Ars waited for Jeff to finish eating.
"Mmm, this Arabian meat patties are the best."
"I don't care about nonsense like that. More importantly - "
"Calm down, why are you in such a hurry? You won't be able to rule the world with just strength and speed. "
Jeff went into the house, leaving Ars still very emotional.
Ars is not in a hurry, it's just that a person he can ask for help continue to make fun of him. And Ars hates that type of person.
Jeff finally came out holding something.
"At least you have to have this if you want to roam in the forest."
Jeff shows a compass to Ars.
Yes, compass.
"Where did you buy that?"
"You can buy it on the market for 250 cash."
"You idiot!" Ars cursed himself. "Of course they have compasses to sell!"
Ars turned around by scratching his head. Intend to return to West Station.
"Hey!"
Jeff called him.
Ars stopped and only turned slightly to show his face.
"You're at least safe if you want to stand at a height of 10 meters. Also, if you find one or two of those hornet monsters, don't kill them right away. Follow and find their nest. After that, it's up to you. "
That is the only advice and lesson given more sincerely than ever before.
Ars turned back and walked. Then by waving: "Yeah-yeah."
Ars gave his final appreciation before leaving.
Jeff watched the rookie leave by sitting back and relaxing. Sipping a warm drink straight from the flask.
"Your adventure will be much easier if you find friends you can trust. And sadly, I can't be friends on your adventure, you lil cheater."
