Chapter 482 482: Thorns In Dark Corners
Chapter 482 482: Thorns In Dark Corners
Cole still had to attach Azazel to a stat, but he was already out of time. He was not so sure he wanted to deal with what was beyond the elevator doors banging so hard on it, that the door was getting dented and pushed in by the second. If Cole did not figure something out fast then he would end up being space food for a space monster…. Conflicts now, when he was not so sure he was a 100% would not be wise.
Cole did not want any bitter fights, any mistake here and he pays the price for good. Level 100 means that he wasn't here with just a soul or different body. This was who he was , his real self. So death now is permanent, which means he had to be a lot smarter, it was no wonder the Divination stat was always going haywire at the very scent of danger. And since it did not trigger, Cole doubted what was beyond the elevator doors could pose much of a threat, but still, it would not be wise to underestimate his opponent.
But all contemplation aside, he was still stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea. But there was only one option. The creature outside the elevator was huge, from the size of the dent, Cole estimated it would at least be the size of an Italian bull. The problem with that was that the elevator was too small, and without being sure about the strength of the enemy, fighting in such a tight space might not be the best course of action.
Cole jumped up, golden gravity rings appearing around his body to give him a extra boost as he went through the hatch, and just in time too as four massive tentacles smashed into the elevator, destroying and ripping it apart as the tentacle twisted and started surging upwards, still on the chase for Cole.
Cole gathered energy around his feet, and stomped down hard on the air. There was a sound akin to paper being torn as grey dog, and black and white sparks appeared on his feet as he blasted upwards, covering a distance of 30 meters in a second, leaving a trail of grey fog and black and white lightning that split the very fabric of reality.
Whatever Cole just did, had literally caused a rift in the fabric of reality. The rift was rapidly healing up, but everything else around it seemed to be dying at an extremely fast rate. The monsters that were caught in the trail had the flesh parts of themselves wrinkle up with age and black rot, while the mechanical parts, rusted as they got dislodged from the shaft wall, becoming obstacles in the path of the giant Tentacles still chasing after him.
But obstacles or not, none of them were able to slow the tentacles down as it chased after Cole with a vengeance. A massive roar was heard, powerful enough that it shook the shaft, dislodging beams and pieces of concrete that floated about, becoming even more obstacle for Cole and the Tentacles.
Cole did not slow down, the grey storm around his legs grew stronger as his form blurred and he blitzed forwards, twisting his body in the air as he swung Black Malakai using [Black Surge] to build momentum. This was a skill of Black Malakai that Cole had almost forgotten he had, and with the attachment with the Kinetic stat, every movement Cole has been making had been building power, growing until it's reached a crescendo and Cole could not longer hold it back.
[Umbra Sword Garden]
Cole changed his gravity, crouching sideways on the wall as he stabbed Black Malakai in. A powerful shockwave was released from him as black roots with purple, black and white roses surged out of the ground, stabbing into and out of the shaft's walls to meet the onslaught of the Tentacles.
*Screeeeeech! Brooooaaaaarrrerrr*
The sonic boom from the sound of the creature screaming in pain burst Cole's eardrums, with enough intensity to even Pop his left eye, leaving his helmet covered in a bloody mess.
It slid back, exposing his face and missing eye to the world…or the dungeon. The clash between roots covered in massive tornado and weirdly colored roses vs the alien cyborg tentacles had ended in the roots victory. It had dug into every corner, squeezing and breaking metal, piercing flesh and immobilizing the tentacles in a grotesque display of ruined flesh.
But Cole was far from done as he could feel the roots still moving, burrowing deeper and traveling farther into the monster. This thing was just a beast, but it was a monster in the diamond rank, and way more powerful than anything Cole had come across, but that didn't mean he was going to get payback.
There was no more Sin Eater, now it was a part of Cole, and act that was as simple as breathing, as eating. Much the same way a person's heart works within their bodies with no one being fully aware, instinct…..he devoured.
His body shuddered at the influx of energy, it was almost orgasmic, the experience made all the more pleasant by the screams of the monster as it's life force and essence was drained from it. Cole felt his eye regenerate, as the rest of his body followed suit, mending what was broken and nourishing it even more, as Cole drew some much of the monsters essence that it had no other choice but to decapitate it part of it's body that had the roots in them.
Cole watched, amused as the tentacles left behind wilted and turned to dust. He's probably scared that thing something fierce, next time you'd think twice before sticking your hand into dark corners….you might get stung. And that was not a lesson you want taught to you by the World Breaker Cole Night!, Because you won't forget such a lesson.
"Really master? I'm in your head you know! That's just the lousiest thing I've ever heard, who writes these things for you?"
