Chapter 463 463: Te Boreas: The Wolf War VII
Cole watched as everything came together, raising his eyebrows a few times as he saw how ruthless, efficient and powerful Aiteen's ability was when the battleground became an urban battlefield. With her Cole did not think it would possibl3 for anyone to cause significant damage to any city or structure.
Plus every structures she becomes a sort of also developed her Raen [Demonic Constitution] skill. It made her a very annoying opponent and one that could theoretically stall her enemies for as long as she has energy. Cole had been a bit worried about her, as he was not so sure what to do with her. Like all princesses she was used to having her own way, and now that she was a Raen, the feeling of self entitlement and pride was at an all time high.
But impressively she had been able to have full control of herself. Cole shifted his attention back to the battlefield, but there was almost no casualty on their sides, and even if they were it didn't come up to being fatal, just rather debilitating injuries that could be healed up as soon as the fight was over. But that also meant that they had to take fighters off the field, but in the end it wasn't too bad.
They had landed in sixteen districts but had gone after the 32 inner districts, of which as of this moment Cole and army now had control of 20! They had successfully pushed the guilds to the central area that housed not just the palace, but also the headquarters of both guilds. It spoke volumes about how much power they have been able to carve out for themselves and they believed themselves on equal if not above the king of the city.
Never the less this meant that it was time for Cole to consolidate all of his forces and take the field himself. He s laughed to him as he sent a message through his bond with the wolves. It 2as crazy how much he was relying on it now, he had always known it was there, but he never knew just how much more deeper and powerful it was, or just what the limits were. Some of his Raens could even project their dreams through the bond, broadcasting his thoughts was rather easy.
They all received his message and started making their way to the inner districts. The last district was huge, the size of a city itself, and a large one at that, this was to ensure the guilds had as much spaces as possible, plus it might have been symbolic. The adventurers guild to the right and the Craftsman guild to the left. The two extra arms of the government…or two thugs holding the kingdom hostage, proof to those who could use their eyes properly that these guilds were no friends of Te Boreas.
Cole stopped using his abilities as his feet touched the ground breaking off the connection with Aiteen's abilities, he created a portal one last time as Lyren came before him in its Direwolf King form. The remaining 4 Raens with him mounted up as they all rode through the shadow portal.
As if they had planned it, once Cole and the four were out of the shadows portal, they all began to form up on ranks behind him, each according to his number as they rode towards the inner district. They came out from every corner, all funneling into place from the districts they had just rid of the guilds influence.
There were still other districts where the guilds were stationed. But they were all isolated, it was like a big patch of skin with so many black spots, with these black spots not being close to themselves at all. And with the army now embedded in these pockets of space and holes, there was no retreat, no coming to a partners aid, especially when their communications was pretty much cut off. They had been humbled and all they could do was wait quietly for them to come and be dealt with.
lightsΝοvel This time Cole did not need the army to help him keep the enemies occupied, in fact what they were needed for, they already completed and now Cole had a direct path to not just the king, but to the guilds. It took them going through three more districts before they arrived at the internal district, massive golden gates tightly shut, and beyond them, an army of Animechs and adventurers, and all of them were either gold ranked or diamond ranked.
Those that were higher ranked were hidden amongst the army, but by this point Cole was not intimidated by the legendary Titanium rank. Not when their advancements was flawed and all their stats are not within the Titanium realm, it gave them weaknesses to exploit. Of course it did not mean that Cole was powerful enough to face off against them, hut as he was now… he wasn't alone. Stats weren't all the power.
Cole and his hundred came to a stop as the army on the opposite side shifted nervously worried. By this point, regardless of how large the city was, they would have received news of the 100 man wolf pack from hell. And their enigmatic, charismatic, tyrannical and overbearing leader. Cole sat astride Lyren, watching quietly as his reddish gold eyes seemed to swallow all the light around him, leaving only those eerie orbs behind.
"Erase." Cole softly said to the company, without hesitation they vanished, as if they were never there. There was no sound of footfalls, so sounds of breathing or even sounds of equipment moving, it was just a silent horror that the army of giant mechanical animals killing machines. Cole stood alone in front of a closed gate and an army more than ten thousand strong.
"Where's the king and his family?" Cole asked, as the soldiers whispered amongst themselves, the Animechs taking massive steps to reflect the nervousness of their pilots. There was a bit of a shuffle within their ranks, as someone came through, an older woman dressed head to tow in red armor and holding a blood red spear.
"We have the king and his family, send your forces back 20 districts or we will start chopping pieces of them and sending it to you, one by one until we get to the king. Once you have retreated have your soldiers surrender and we-"
"Deliver the king and his family to me…..you have 1 hour. Don't worry….. I'll wait." Was all Cole said to her as Lyren melted from underneath him transforming slowly into a smooth and sleek armor that was pitch black with dark blue highlights on the side, a cape with a motif of a black wolf asleep on top a field of black roses with a massive pine tree in the background and a sun of fire and a moon or ice.
The helm covered his entire head, leaving a pitch black visor over the entire face area. Cole's horns were also armored, as were the claws on his hands. The armor wasn't bulky, it was fitted and supine, like a true wolf's body. Built for agility and dexterity and stamina, built for quick strikes. An armor unequivocally made for war.
Cole pulled out Black Malakai and sat on the ground with the black blade sheathed on his lap, as he waited, counting down until the hour he had given them was up. The woman sputtered in indignation and shock, Cole was not even listening to anything she was saying, and established himself as the person to fear, by not even giving her an option to surrender, he just made his demand and told them he would wait.
You could not buy that kind of confidence, and by this point with how thoroughly Cole had decimated their forces and broke through to the inner district, prolonged conflict with him would only end in mutual destruction, so the only thing they could do was force his hand by using the head of the king and his family.
But Cole refused to play ball, this put her in a difficult position. The guilds would definitely not agree to take the back foot in this. They had lost, but with everything that has happened there was no best case scenario, there was only the worst in the fact that they would all be killed and their families probably exiled. So instead relying on the remaining forces they had, they wanted to enter negotiations, perhaps Cole would be amicable to a few deals that would end this conflict but won't see both guilds destroyed to the root in Te Boreas.
"Who do you think you are! You have 30 minutes to sound the retreat or you will be eating your kings balls from a platter. Rubbish!" And then she turned around and marched back into the ranks of the army behind her.
Cole did not say anything, he just smiled and waited, still counting, just there, silently watching with his head and face covered. It would be dawn soon, regardless of how this ends, Cole was moving into the new day bloody, baptized in the blood of the guilds that decided to get in his way, and they would be enough, enough to get him to level 100!
