Titan Rising Online: World Breaker

Chapter 26 026: Energy Vampire

Just after the tunnel there was a ladder to the side that led straight up to the bleachers. Cole quickly scurried up onto it, a little bit worried for any aliens being drawn by the explosion a few moments ago. But luckily enough for him, they seemed a little preoccupied while Cole was able to get up onto the bleachers and then utilize his small form to scurry under them, becoming well hidden and also blending into the thousands of corpses he could see all over the bleachers.

He wanted to keep on moving, but he was a little bit secure where he was, and if he raised his head he had no idea what he would be facing, so perhaps now would be just as good a time to check out the loot boxes he had gotten from that underground sewer dungeon. Honestly speaking his current equipment apart from his armor won't take him too far as they did not have the reach he needed. Perhaps he should have tried to get some of the Nijat aliens weapons, sure it was loud and chunky but it would have been another option to attack.

Cole took a deep breath as he equipped the equipped the shield to his stealth suit, and then equipped the grenade holster around his waist, while the ammunition for the sniper rifle fell directly into his inventory. He did not have as much time to admire the sleek silver monster in his hand, especially when you had to consider that fact that the damn weapon was way taller than he was. But be that as it may, Cole had a way to figure out his next step, or at least that's what he thought, until the Nijat Alien stepped on his back, almost snapping his spine in half.

"ah!" Cole cried out in pain as he turned around to look at his assailant, his gun clattering to the ground, as he wondered how this damn thing had noticed him. It was only until he got a closer look that he realized he was looking at the same elite alien he had dealt with when he had escaped the coliseum.

Of course it was not the same alien, but one that looked very much like it, and had just as much animosity as it punched Cole in the face and stomach at the same time with two of it's four hands while the other two held him spread eagle as if it wanted to rip him apart limb from limb. Cole was dazed, there was way too much power behind that strike, and he wasn't sure he would be able to take another hit of such forfeit, so he attacked.

[Sin Eater]

Almost immediately it felt as if he got a boost of adrenaline as the alien stumbled back, but still holding on to Cole and not wanting to let go. On the other hand Cole felt his senses sharpened to a whole other level, his focus was like a razors edge, but even more than that was the high he was feeling from it, and better yet, his energy had not dropped even one second from using the skill, so he used it again, and this time he did not stop.

[Sin Eater]

The Nijat alien seemed to rapidly dry up, it's body turning into a dried up husk after Cole had kept up the skill for close to 3 minutes. By this point they had both crashed into the bleachers, their bodies getting his by the seats and the bodies of others. The alien gave a strangled scream, but all that did was empower Cole to pull on the skill even more until there was not a sound left coming from the alien, and all that was left a mummified husk.

"Damn!" Cole said out loud in shock. He shook his head, picking up the prism that had dropped and then turned around to take a good look at the coliseum for the very first time.

The place was a mess, the portal that had showed up right in midair was still there, and from this distance it almost looked as if the aliens were carrying scores upon scores of people into it, or rather taking it straight to the tentacle that were stretched out of it. It was easy enough for Cole to assume or see it as a path that leads straight to the belly of whatever alien beast was responsible for this destruction.

There was a loud thud behind him, Cole cursed as he ducked under the four arm swiped and smashed the but of his smoker rifle into the sternum of the next alien to appear. It didn't even flinch, Cole was smaller now, and even though he had higher stats, he still packed the strength stat, meaning he couldn't really bring power to bear in front of such an enemy, the only thing that can help him in any fight were his skills.

[Sin Eater]

Cole just let the alien grab a hold of him and activated his skill again, he felt the onslaught of energy rush through his body as the alien let out another muffled cry. It quickly wanted to let go, apparently this one had more sense than the first that had died. But there was no way Cole would let that happen, he wasn't exactly in a giving mood at the moment as he grabbed the alien in place.

[Sin Eater Has Absorbed Energy! Energy has been permanently increased by 13+ all stats +300% for 120 seconds!]

Cole chuckled darkly as he quickly grabbed the sniper rifle and pointed it in the direction of the portal. He looked through the scope, quickly noticing that there were 12 rhomboid like crystals hovering in front of it. The crystals gave off dull silver glows and had symbols of some sort on it. Cole didn't think for one second that the Nijat were a magical alien race, but be that as it may those things looked really important.

He moved the scope downwards and noticed a bright green cursor on a man and a couple of other humans that could just as well have passed for his family. There were on a floating platform, three stages away from being the next people to be fed to the giant tentacles stretching forty from a portal that leads to God knows where. The green cursor was a system helping hand to help quest takers recognize their targets, and using that same Vein Cole looked around, noticing the briefcase he was after just sitting there, no more than seven seats away from him.

"It can't be that easy." Cole muttered to himself, before wincing a bit, worried that perhaps he might have jinxed himself by what he had just said. But regardless he had three choices here. He could pick the case first and then leave, or pick it first deal with whatever trap is sure to be spring and then try to save the family. Or save the family, bring the attention of every single alien in the coliseum on his head, find a way to get them out and then hope he would have the chance to grab the briefcase and get out safely with it.

Cole shook his head with a wry smile, none of these quests were designed to be completed at the same time. You had to pick one and let the other go, and that would have been the only choice he had, if he did not notice the team of 5 people, three of them already undergone their racial change slowly creeping towards the briefcase. Cole skilled, looks like luck was still on his side.
