Chapter 250 250: Part 1: The Guild
Cole grumbled, he could not believe this, Cassandra and Razor were back, along with Farida too but they were barring his way. He was so angry that even Delarosa had come out of his shadow prepared to kill. He was the leader yet these three were fearsome enough to put him down on his ass. Not that they defeated him or anything, but they just gave extremely sound arguments about his priorities….. conquering could wait.
"You should start with planting those seeds then registering the fucking guilds. You need to put some administration down and figure out an income stream. You're doing well enough by fleecing our fellow Glade aspirants, but you've not even sold some of the resources you've acquired to the system for money and territory points. You're awful at this, but you will have to learn if you don't want someone to profit from what belongs to you."
"I know this is new for you, through it all, you have just been moving forwards, mowing down enemies and growing stronger. And even you knew eventually you would have to slow down the destruction and try to build something for a change. It won't he easy, it's definitely not meant to be easy, but if you keep doing it halfway and running off somewhere else, it will never be exactly what you want it to be or what you need it be. It's hard for you to slow down, But Cole take a deep breath and calm down, at least for a little while." Cassandra said to him, as she gave him hard yet stern warning, much in the same manner a mother would give advice to her son. If Cole wasn't trying to keep up appearances perhaps he would have cried...just perhaps.
Cole blinked a couple of times after Cassandra's tirade, then he turned to the side looking rather sheepish. "well if you put it that way, it makes me sound really foolish and childish. Fine, I'll go plant some seeds, after I create my guild. Farida do you have that writ from an authority figure?" Cole asked as he stood up.
"Its been with me since the day you asked for it." Cole nodded to her and stretched out his hand. She handed him a thin piece of paper that he then activated through the system, loosing a hundred bronze Prisms and a 100 gold in the process. The entire procedure was not so convoluted or complicated as Cole had thought it would, this was the first guild he was creating and he would be creating more eventually in order to create his Alliance.
[The Guild 'World Breakers' Has Been Formed!]
Guild Name: World Breakers// Guild Rank: Bronze I
Guild Master: Cole Raen// Guild Vice-Master: Cassandra Morrowind
Guild Financial Officer: N/A// Guild Disciplinary Officer: Delarosa // Guild Treasury Officer: Farida
Guild Development Officer: Pollux Phoenixborn// Guild Arms Master: Castor Phonenixborn
Guild Population: 6/20// Guild Territories: Raen Valley// Guild Funds: 1M Gold
The guild menu was pretty much simple, and the explanation for it's usage even simpler. The more aspirants or denizens that join the guild, the higher it's ranking would be. As it stands Cole had enough people to push it to Bronze II. Recruitment would be in order, but it would only be for the best of the best. Cole wanted to create an elite environment, but then again even if you're weak, he hopes to create a place that would make you strong also. So in the end he would be contradicting himself, but what was life without a little contradiction.
"I've delegated Cassandra as my second in command, the rest of you who have posts should have already received notifications about your assignments. And there's enough money in the guild to at least fund a bit of your forays into ways to make the guild better. As for a financial officer, I'm still somewhat stuck until I can get Tehilla to come here. So do be mindful of the way you spend and make sure you document it. Castor we need blueprints for a guild hall, a massive one too. And one that has room for growth in the future.
Now I will go take care of a few other things. Cassandra is responsible for getting the rest of our friends into the guild, there will be new positions to fill soon enough, but we can start here and see where things goes and make the necessary adjustments. I'll also have some guild rules written down, however I'd need Irma and Thunder-Jack to go scout out the glades that neighbor us.
I want to know what they're all about, defenses and weaknesses, routes, movements relationships, alliances etc. You guys can take Neral with you. I want a comprehensive report by the end of tomorrow, then I'll know how to proceed. Now if you guys can excuse me, I have some farming to attend to."
With that said Cole got up and left the encirclement feeling pretty smug, even though he had just come up with all of it on the spot. Never the less they were right, there will be enough time to go on adventures and deal with other Glades, for now it would be best to build up what he has….his territory was still sorely lacking as it is, he needed to do more.
Cole made his way over to the farm and brought out the bag of seeds that Razor had purchased for him. There were individual packages within the bag with the names of the seeds held within, he was only able to get six. Two of which were corn and wheat, a third was a fruit bearing tree called an Aboi, apparently it had a sweet sugary taste but had a kick so fierce if it's fermented and processed into a wine. The last two were tuber crops, potatoes and yams.
All these were staples that he was used to, except of course for the Aboi fruit, but this was a whole other universe he was talking about. So there definitely has to be new things to try and grow, in a way perhaps this was an adventure in and out of itself, he just had to enjoy it.
