Cao Jianhui felt disgruntled at being dragged away by Luo Ziling. And when he saw that Li Jiaqing was so worked up, he got mad again. Wrestling his arms free from Luo Ziling’s grasp, he charged towards Jin Qicai.
Jin Qicai let out a loud war cry in response. He raised his fist and landed a powerful blow on Cao Jianhui. Cao Jianhui was quite large, to the point that his movements were greatly affected. With his lowered agility and mind clouded by anger, the punch connected, albeit not a clean landing.
Though he saw Jin Qicai’s fist coming towards him, Cao Jianhui could not react in time. The blow landed on his neck. He grunted but resisted falling over. His leg flung out to push him back, therein giving him enough room to gain momentum to launch a counterattack.
He threw a fast punch, almost as strong as the one he’d been on the receiving end of. Jin Qicai was not expecting him to still be able to stand in place after taking the hit. Shocked, he failed to anticipate the counterattack and was hit in the shoulder.
The force of the impact was strong. Immediately after being hit, Jin Qicai lost his balance and almost fell over onto his side. Cao Jianhui’s massive size and powerful punch managed to actually deal some damage, causing a throbbing pain in Jin Qicai’s shoulder.
Enraged, Jin Qicai roared and leaped forward to tackle Cao Jianhui.
Even though he was massive, the man had been trained in martial arts. He was agile enough to see the incoming attack and repelled Jin Qicai’s tackle with a straightforward kick. Jin Qicai was not able to break his charge and was kicked in his chest. Finally, he lost his balance and fell to the ground with a loud, clear ‘thud’.
The two had started throwing it down but Luo Ziling was not going to help Cao Jianhui just yet. He continued to spectate from the sidelines. The two were almost equally matched and from the looks of it, Cao Jianhui currently had the upper hand. There was no need for him to interfere.
Lu Jiaqing was surprised. He had never thought that the plump Cao Jianhui would be a good fighter. Jin Qicai was supposed to be strong and yet he could not defeat him. Glancing behind him, Lu Jiaqing saw that Ouyang Huihui was glaring at the crowd with cold, dead eyes. At that moment, his pride as a man rose up.
With a powerful howl, he called out to the other guys who were still hesitating to act, “Get them! Make them kneel! Fight for Huihui! I’ll take the heat once this is over! Just fight them all!”
The fight was getting louder and many other spectators had started to gather around. This did not affect Li Jiaqing in the slightest. He was not going to allow himself to be weak in front of Ouyang Huihui! What’s more, he was not going to let himself look weak either.
More enemies swarmed around, and Cao Jianhui could only fight one at a time, trading one blow with another. Li Fuming and Wu Longjiang were standing off to the side, eagerly wanting to fight. Luo Ziling could not help but frown.
“Ouyang Huihui,” he roared the name with extreme hostility, “Are you not going to stop the fight?”
Ouyang Feifei curled her lips, not making a sound in reply.
Concurrently, Cao Jianhui took a punch to the chest, thrown by Jin Qicai. His body was at its limit. He was swaying back and forth, unsteady on his feet.
Jin Qicai was still not stopping. His enemy was dazed and he was not going to waste this chance. He stepped forward, stopped in front of Cao Jianhui, and lifted his leg up high for a downward slashing kick.
That airborne attack was obviously packing with power. Even Cao Jianhui would be severely injured if the kick landed.
The sound of a woman wailing could be heard coming from the crowd of onlookers.
Thud.
A loud thump was heard. It was the sound of impact between two human bodies. A loud groan rang out, followed by a man flying off his feet.
Thump.
The man who was thrown into the air landed hard on the ground, sending a cloud of dust puffing up in his wake.
Everyone stopped instantly, stupefied.
It was a large man who had been sent flying—Jin Qicai. The dazed Cao Jianhui had enough time to collect himself and a little while later, he finally managed to stand still.
No one saw how Jin Qicai was knocked off his feet. Even Cao Jianhui was still stupified. The last thing that went across his mind was the fact that he was about to be kicked in the face. At that moment, he realized that it was Luo Ziling who had stepped in to help.
Luo Ziling was not holding back. If he was going to fight, he would take down his opponent as quickly as possible.
While the entire crowd was still figuring out what happened, Ouyang Huihui’s jaw dropped in surprise. She had never thought that Luo Ziling could actually fight.
It had been established that she really hated him. Tonight, she wanted to borrow the strength of Li Jiaqing and his followers to teach Luo Ziling a lesson. It goes without saying that she would step in to stop the fight if he was about to get beaten to a pulp. After all, she only wanted to inflict some pain onto him, not cause permanent injuries.
Clearly, things turned out differently. Li Jiaqing and his followers had failed to beat them and even gotten themselves beaten up by Luo Ziling himself. Ouyang Huihui had never expected him to be so strong.
To have the strength and skill to kick a large man like it was nothing but a walk in the park, one could tell that the bastard was a martial arts expert who kept a low profile.
Of course, Ouyang Huihui had no idea who Luo Ziling truly was, nor did she know what he could and could not do. The man had not only inherited his grandfather’s knowledge in Chinese medicine, but also self-defense skills.
Yes, Luo Ziling was being groomed as the next legendary Chinese medicine practitioner, but he was also a strong fighter. His skill in martial arts was as good as a grandmaster’s.
Though Luo Liansheng himself was approaching his seventies, he could still fend off ten strong men with relative ease. Back in the day, he shook the world of the wealthy with his unprecedented medical skills as well as his prowess in martial arts.
Having trained with his grandfather from a young age, Luo Ziling had picked up the art well. He’d fought a wild beast at the mere age of four, and when he was five, he hunted down a small wolf to treat Ouyang Feifei. When he was about ten years old, he even took down a snow leopard that had accidentally wandered into the village.
There were other hunters in the village, all of whom were strong and well-trained. But not even seven or eight of them could fight Luo Ziling.
Without a strong body and a mind of steel, he wouldn’t have been able to rescue the unknown injured woman, carrying her across the mountains and back to his home.
…
Li Jiaqing was surprised as well. Just like Ouyang Huihui, he too gawked at Luo Ziling with his jaw dropped. He was so panicked that he could not even say anything. All the bravery he mustered up earlier had apparently run away.
Inversely, Cao Jianhui was back to his full strength. He charged forward like a bull and kicked down Jin Qicai who was still struggling to get back up. Then, he stomped towards Li Jiaqing.
“Hey dimwit, weren’t you shouting and yelling just now? Didn’t you demand for us to slap ourselves and beg for forgiveness on our knees? What about it then? Are you still demanding for us to do that?” he roared, shoving his fat middle finger into Li Jiaqing’s face.
“If you’re all bark and no bite, I suggest you stop pretending to be a hero. Now, apologize to our boss!”
Cao Jianhui may be a brute but he was still smart. He might not know what kind of relationship Luo Ziling had with Ouyang Huihui, but he was certain that something was going on between the two, otherwise none of this would have happened.
He could also see that Li Jiaqing was playing the hero to impress her. He was obviously fond of the young lady and wanted to go all out to own her heart.
However, no matter what sort of relationship Luo Ziling and Ouyang Huihui had, Cao Jianhui was determined to tear Li Jiaqing’s pride to shreds. He wanted to embarrass him and make him lose face, so that he would never again be able to look Ouyang Huihui in the eye.
Naturally, Cao Jianhui would not blame Ouyang Huihui for any of this, nor would he vent any of his anger at her. She was, after all, a beautiful lady who deserved to be loved and treated fondly.
He would strip Li Jiaqing of his pride for good.
At that moment, a group of campus security guards came running.
