The Young Urban Doctor

Chapter 2 - Treatment

The man's name was Luo Ziling. He had been raised in the village since he was young. He lived in that small mountainside village with his grandfather for almost twenty years.

1

According to his grandfather, Luo Liansheng, Luo Ziling had been brought to the northwest of China along with his grandfather when he was only four months of age.

2

It was his grandfather that raised him. His parents were not around, but they were alive.

He had an identity that was very special.

3

His grandfather never really talked about Luo Ziling's parents. It was obvious to him that certain things were meant to be secret. As such, he never asked about his parents after he was mature in thinking.

His grandfather was a skilled medical practitioner. From young, Luo Ziling learned about medicine, inheriting his grandfather's skill. Quoting from villagers living nearby, any patients brought to them that are still breathing could be saved.

The woman was severely injured. She had lost a lot of blood, however, after he checked her pulse thoroughly, he knew there was nothing to be worried about.

The woman lost consciousness only due to excessive blood loss as well as shock from suffering wounds all over her body.

As long as he could stop the bleeding, mend her wounds, and prevent them from being infected, she would recover in just a few days.

Luo Ziling prepared all the necessary medicine and apparatus, and turned on all the lights. Everything was ready for Luo Ziling to begin the treatment process.

First, he administered acupuncture treatment that he was adept at. After that he applied local anesthesia that he made by himself using herbs. Once the bleeding stopped, Luo Ziling put on a single-use latex glove and lit up an alcohol lamp.

The woman was lucky; her wound that was close to the heart was only two centimeters away from her heart and the great vessels. Otherwise, the heart or the large blood vessels in the chest and abdomen will be injured, and there is no way to stop the bleeding. Not even the greatest of all doctors could do anything to save her.

The acupuncture treatment and his homemade local anesthesia worked well. During the treatment, she responded only a little as she had slept through it all.

Luo Ziling, on the other hand, had spent too much energy.

By the time he was done with the wound, applied anti-inflammatory, and bandaged it close, Luo Ziling was sweating all over. Although he was drenched in sweat, he did not stop. There was still one more wound that needed treatment.

This woman had two large wounds that she had been bleeding out from.

The treatment would be completed once both wounds were dealt with.
