Bai Chuwei lowered her eyes and swiftly packed up her belongings.
Duan Xingye had not noticed Bai Chuwei’s movements yet as he was focused on his grandfather’s smoother breathing and improving complexion.
He rejoiced quietly and turned to look at Bai Chuwei. “Weiwei, thank you so much! My third uncle will be here soon. Are you interested in celebrities? My third uncle, Duan Xiuqi is a popular actor. Do you want his signature?”
Bai Chuwei smiled superficially and replied in a cold voice. “I don’t want his signature, but I am rather interested in his death.”
With that, Bai Chuwei picked up her bag and walked out of the bedroom.
A thought flashed in Duan Feihan’s mind and his long legs chased after Bai Chuwei’s footsteps.
Bai Chuwei looked straight ahead and said, “Mr. Duan, your father’s illness is not something that can be cured with a few needles. I’ll write a prescription and have Duan Xingye bring it over. I’ll be going back now.”
All of a sudden, a powerful, large hand grabbed her wrist. When she turned to look at him, Duan Feihan loosened his grip. Their eyes clashed and he said, “Miss Bai, I’ll send you back.”
Duan Feihan fished out his car keys and opened the door for her.
Bai Chuwei was slightly surprised as to why he had not asked his driver to do this, but she did not ponder much over it and sat in the passenger seat.
The car started moving slowly and crossed a white-colored car before driving out of the villa.
Bai Chuwei rolled down the window and propped up her left arm. She then looked at Duan Feihan with interest as she openly checked him out.
The members of the Duan Family were not kind souls, but she did not expect someone as good as Duan Feihan to appear in this family.
Oh right, that silly, male cannon fodder, Duan Xingye was also not bad.
Her gaze slowly shifted downwards and went past his protruding Adam’s apple, before landing on the sandalwood Buddha bracelet on his left wrist, where the patterns were nearly worn out from excessive rubbing.
She suddenly smiled and asked him. “I presume you’ve worn this bracelet for twenty years?”
Duan Feihan softly hummed in response.
Someone had gifted that bracelet to him twenty years ago.
Bai Chuwei smiled with her head lowered. She never expected the adorable little child, who always asked for hugs back then, would wear the Buddha bracelet for so long. This was something that she randomly made twenty years ago.
Moreover, he had grown into such a handsome man.
She looked at his slightly reddened ears and finally turned her gaze out of the car’s window.
High-rise buildings and numerous cars on the road filled her view. There were pedestrians walking on the street as they headed to the Sea City downtown.
Bai Chuwei turned to look at him and asked in surprise. “Mr. Duan should have already investigated my address. Then, why did you drive me here instead of sending me home?”
Duan Feihan didn’t answer and parked the car in the shopping mall’s parking lot before inviting her to get down.
“Miss Bai, come with me.”
He walked ahead and led Bai Chuwei into the bustling shopping mall. The first floor of the mall were all retail outlets that sold different brands of mobile phones.
“Which brand of mobile phone is Miss Bai fond of?” Duan Feihan looked at her and asked.
Her brow shot up and her smile extended to her eyes.
So, Mr. Duan’s offer to buy her a mobile phone had not merely been a courtesy!
Bai Chuwei pondered for a moment before pointing towards a mobile shop. “I’ll get a Moyun phone then.”
She did not wish to use the old phone which Bai Yinyin had used in the past.
Moyun was a domestic brand of mobile phones in China. Based on its powerful system and performance, it had won the favor of the vast majority of locals, thus seizing the largest market share. It was also said that the latest Moyun 10pro was sold at a starting price of thirty thousand yuan.
