“The second person’s name is Adonis. I can only say that he is not bad.

“The last to take the field is called Basaro. Before Andre turned to study magic, Basaro was hailed as the number one magical genius in the Noble Academy. Just like Andre, he had advanced to the level of black iron at the end of the last semester, but he had also suppressed his abilities for this contest.”

Su Ye could not help but ask after he heard Niedern’s words, “Did none of the upperclassmen from our school suppress their levels for this contest?”

“The Plato Academy does not need to do that.”

“I do!” Su Ye said.

“What you have to think about now is how to win two rounds,” Niedern said.

“For me to encounter such an irresponsible teacher. I admit defeat!” Su Ye started to seriously think about how he should fight.

For the Black Iron Medal. For the Door of Mirrors. Mainly to pass this year.

After all, the Black Iron Medal could be exchanged for a top position in any subject of his choosing.

Su Ye thought about the battle constantly. He arrived at the arena soon after.

“Roar! Roar, roar…”

Provocative roars came from within the arena.

Su Ye looked up to see that those roars had come from several hundred people standing at the opposite side. They were dressed in a uniform white robe with embroidered gold edges. They looked incredibly regal. Though more students from the Plato Academy were present, they were wearing a hodgepodge of clothing. Their spirit had clearly been suppressed by the other party.

Niedern whispered, “Walk faster, they can’t wait any longer.”

Su Ye instead started to walk slowly when he heard Niedern and continued to think.

Niedern gently nodded when he saw Su Ye’s actions and said, “Very good. That’s why I think highly of you.”

“Teacher Niedern is here!” A student shouted excitedly. His voice had a slightly nasal tone as if he had been crying.

“He’s really here!”

“He went in search of a Mage Apprentice.”

“Hm? Who is that? Why have I not seen him before?”

“He is a second-year. His name is Su Ye.”

“Su Ye. Isn’t he the Third… Third to last?”

“Has Teacher Niedern gone mad? Why would he choose him for the battle?”

“Su Ye is already a Mage Apprentice!” Hort shouted loudly.

“Even if he is a Mage Apprentice, would a second-year be able to compete against a third or fourth-year?”

“How’s he as a person?”

“Not sure.”

“I know, he is the student who’s better than Hort.”

“Then I understand.”

“We are definitely going to lose.”

“Don’t be angry, Hort. We don’t mean that.”

Hort rolled his eyes toward his ex-classmates, who were now upperclassmen, and walked quickly toward Su Ye.

Su Ye became the center of attention.

Su Ye walked slower and slower, while Niedern seemed unconcerned.

The students did not know whether to laugh or to cry. The whole school was watching him. Why was he still walking so slowly?

The teachers were silent. They did not know how Niedern had taught Su Ye.

The people from the Noble Academy were either furious, anxious, or felt even more disdain when they saw Su Ye’s actions. They roared in unison.

Most of the students from the Plato Academy did not become angry when they heard the provocation of the Noble Academy.

Not only had they lost horribly for the past few years, but the representatives of the Plato Academy had also been completely defeated in today’s contest in the black iron and bronze levels. Unless that was an accident, then they were also expecting to lose the apprentice-level contest as well. Thus, they did not have any expectations for whoever Niedern got to represent them.

“Su Ye, can you do it? We can admit defeat if you can’t. Laker told me everything just now. It’s too risky for you to enter the field,” Hort said.

“Don’t worry. I won’t be embarrassing myself if I lose. I’ll just be embarrassing the Plato Academy.” Su Ye consoled Hort.

Hort swallowed all of the words he had been planning to say.

“I thought too much.” Hort had a frustrated look. He thought that it was logical. How could a person who taught him so much be weaker than him?

Su Ye only seriously scanned his surroundings when he walked onto the field of the arena.

The arena was humongous. On the left stood the teachers and students of the Plato Academy. There were a lot of them.

On the west were the teachers and students of the Noble Academy. Their numbers were small, but they had more spirit.

In front of the Noble Academy’s team stood three teens, while two youths stood in front of Plato Academy’s team.

The two youths looked frustrated. Out of everyone they could have gotten, they chose two second-years who had just become Mage Apprentices. How could they win?

Niedern and Su Ye strolled toward the two other youths on their team after they stepped into the arena.

The people from the Noble Academy caused another uproar when they saw the attitude of the two. Their voices rang throughout the land.

Su Ye disregarded everyone else. He had been contemplating how to obtain victory all this time.

Niedern conjured a small black mustache with his right hand when they reached the correct area. He stuck the mustache between his nose and upper lip.

“The apprentice-level contest will begin now. The first person our side is sending out is a second-year student. He is a newly-advanced Mage Apprentice, Su Ye.”

Niedern’s voice was amplified by the mustache, a type of magic device. His voice spread throughout the arena and reached the ears of everyone present.

Su Ye was thinking about a battle technique when he suddenly heard his name. He looked toward Niedern. That’s inhumane, making me battle in the first round? Was he trying to accept one loss to ensure two other wins? The problem is that the other party does not have to step off the field after he wins.

The three Mage Apprentices on the other side had exceptionally wide smiles.

Some of the students from the Plato Academy covered their faces. Teacher Niedern was usually a rather serious person. Why was he so willful today?

Under the gaze of everyone present, Niedern took out another mustache-shaped magic device and placed it under Su Ye’s nose.

“Cough…” Su Ye let out a gentle cough that spread throughout the arena.

The arena fell silent.

Su Ye surveyed the surroundings. This was the first time he had encountered such a large-scale event in Athens. He was not used to it and thus tapped his right thumb and finger twice out of habit. He adjusted his posture and attitude and regained his composure.

Su Ye smiled as he said, “Good evening. I am Su Ye. Teacher Niedern told me just now that the Noble Academy of Athens is a famous school with a long history and fine traditions. Not only is it famous within Athens, but its reputation has also spread far and wide. It is the pride and glory of all of Greece. In Greece, no, in the entire world, the Noble Academy is the undisputed top school. It is the role model for every school and the holy land in the hearts of every student. Every teacher in the Noble Academy of Athens is incredibly wise, every student incredibly intelligent. If I have to use a term to describe the Noble Academy, then I would describe it as perfect. If I have to add another term, then the Noble Academy would be extremely perfect!”

The gazes that the teachers and students from the Noble Academy shot Su Ye instantly became gentler. At the same time, they started to reflect on themselves. Were they too much for mocking Su Ye just now? This Su Ye was rather intelligent and aware.

The students from the Plato Academy were in shock.

The two academies had a long history of conflict. Some would even say that this was a war between mages and warriors, a war between the commoners and nobles.

The academy had been set up by Plato. However, before Plato set up the academy, he had always been in conflict with the Noble Academy. In fact, even Socrates and Thales before him were also in frequent conflict with the Noble Academy.

It could even be said that the two parties were mortal enemies.

What did Su Ye’s words mean? The students and teachers of the Plato Academy looked unpleasantly at Su Ye.

Su Ye paused for a moment, then said slowly, “Then, Teacher Niedern said while being overcome with emotions by the memories of the past, that that was before the Plato Academy was built.”

The entire arena fell silent. The teachers and students from the Plato Academy could not hold in their laughter.

The arena transformed into a sea of joy.
