Su Ye was immersed in the joy of studying. While the dismissal bell did not manage to shatter his joy, Teacher Niedern’s voice did.

“Su Ye, come out with me.”

Su Ye once again became the focal point of the class. Hutton and the rest of his group once again let out their evil laughs.

Su Ye glanced at Hutton and realized that he was still his usual smiling self. It was as if he did not fear Su Ye.

“He has some problems with his attitude…” Su Ye thought as he followed Niedern out of the classroom.

Niedern continued walking forward and entered a small forested patch. Su Ye did not know what Niedern wanted to do and could only follow behind him.

Sometime later, Niedern turned around.

“Do you know I called you out here?” Niedern’s expression was unbelievably stern.

“Don’t worry, Teacher, I won’t be late tomorrow! I wasn’t slacking off today. I was really late because of my studies.” Su Ye had a serious expression.

The stern look on Niedern’s face melted slowly as he said, “You truly do not know?”

Su Ye had a bad feeling. There was a hidden meaning in those words, and he felt that something was not right.

“You’ve already advanced to the level of Mage Apprentice!” Niedern said angrily. He knew that Su Ye had the wrong understanding when he saw his expression.

“Oh? You must be wrong.” Su Ye was in disbelief.

The explanation in the book was clear. A person would only absorb a portion of power after entering the Divine Realm Light for the first time. Their bodies would only be strengthened slightly.

It was only after a long period of training that one could advance to become a Mage Apprentice or Warrior Apprentice and develop Magic Power or Divine Power.

Even though many teased Hort for being stupid due to him being unable to become a Warrior Apprentice despite training for five years, in reality, only one percent of people from all of Greece could become a Warrior or Mage Apprentice if they trained every day for five years.

Most people would only advance for the first time after they trained for ten years or longer.

There were people who became Mage Apprentices after they reached the Divine Realm Light for the first time, but these people either had powerful talents or had studied and accumulated their knowledge over a long time.

Su Ye knew his abilities well. He had always thought that he was rather ordinary and had only come in contact with magic for a day… No, he had only attended one meditation class. How could he have directly advanced to the level of Mage Apprentice? He was not a genius.

Su Ye thought it through. He shook his head decisively and said, “Teacher, you must be wrong. If even I could advance to become a Mage Apprentice with one meditation session, then are all the other students idiots?”

Niedern choked and could not speak. He said sometime later, “Did you not read the second chapter of the meditation textbook?”

“I only prepared for the material of the first chapter,” Su Ye replied.

Niedern said, “We will all radiate an aura in the first few hours after we advance. Only people who are at a higher level than you can sense the aura. So, I can be sure that you have already become a Mage Apprentice. The second chapter writes this clearly: after entering the Divine Realm Light for the first time, you have to do your second meditation as soon as possible. If you have not become a Mage Apprentice yet, then you will be able to enter the Divine Realm Light directly. If you advanced, then it is possible that you would arrive at an imaginary building. It would be hazy like a dream or like a translucent veil of water obscuring your vision.

“That place is the Magic Tower of Greek mages. Of course, the Magic Tower is not imaginary. It’s just that your level is too low. Even I cannot see the Magic Tower clearly. Rumor has it that only mages whose meditation has reached the highest level can see the Magic Tower clearly. That state is called introspection, which is the ability to see the Magic Tower from within you.”

Su Ye thought in his heart, “Introspection?” He felt as though the term was different from what he understood. Introspection could be understood as observing oneself from within and observing one’s true self. Did introspection in this magical world refer to the ability to observe the Magic Tower from within oneself?

Niedern continued, “Now, engage in your second meditation. But since your abilities are still too weak, don’t place your attention on the Magic Tower. You will not be able to see the Magic Tower clearly no matter how hard you try. You can come out after you’ve made sure that you already have a Magic Tower and have become a Mage Apprentice.”

“Here?” Su Ye surveyed the surroundings.

“Here.” Niedern waved his right hand. A carpet slowly appeared out of thin air and floated half a meter into the air.

The carpet had a thickness similar to that of a finger. It was covered in radiant patterns. While its colors were tacky, it was complemented by elegant pictures and appropriate designs, giving it an artistic look.

“Is this the Magic Flying Carpet of Persian mages?” Su Ye asked curiously as he touched the carpet. Its texture was as delicate as a wool carpet.

“No, this is just an ordinary magic item and can only be used as a replacement for a bed. Sit down on top of it,” Niedern said.

Su Ye looked down at his feet that were covered in grass and mud with a frustrated expression.

“It’s alright, the magic item is not afraid of dirt.” Niedern lifted his similarly dirty feet.

“Thank you, Teacher!” Su Ye sat atop the magic carpet and began to meditate.

Since this was going to be a quick meditation, Su Ye did not use the Body Scan Meditation Technique that required a greater amount of time. He instead focused his attention on his breathing and quickly entered a meditative state.

It only took a minute.

Niedern looked at Su Ye, dazed. There was an indescribable color in his eyes. It was as if all of the colors on the flying carpet had entered his eyes.

Su Ye’s grades were abysmal; Niedern did not expect for him to be a meditation genius.

Even though he did not know what level Su Ye’s meditation had reached, being able to reach a deep meditative state in such a short time was already at the level of a Gold Mage.

This meant that even though Su Ye did not have much potential in the other areas, he was at least sage-level in terms of meditation.

“This boy…” Niedern showed a faint smile.

Niedern was in a stupor in the outside world, while Su Ye was in a daze in his mental world.

After Su Ye entered a deep meditative state, he entered the Magic Tower just as Teacher Niedern had said.

However, Niedern was only half-right.

Su Ye realized that the building was not blurry at all. Instead, it was exceptionally clear. He could clearly see the patterns on the ground and the unevenness of the granite on the walls. He could even feel the slight chill that was coming from within the Magic Tower.

“What is this? Did I come to the wrong place? Did I barge into someone else’s Magic Tower?”

Su Ye observed the Magic Tower in disbelief.

Unlike the tower that he had imagined, this so-called Magic Tower was a circular house with a radius of about 30 meters. It was incredibly wide.

However, upon closer inspection, the floor of the house that was paved with black granite was not a circle. Instead, it was in the shape of a regular polygon, but Su Ye did not have the time to count just how many sides there were.

The white marble walls were also not curved. It was not one wall but was instead made out of countless trapezoidal walls that were thinner on top and wider at the bottom.

The building had a wider base and a narrow top, forming a pyramid shape. However, it only had one floor.

There was no dome on the very top of this tower. Instead, what was on top was a polygonal window that was just a little smaller than the base. A column of rich, pure-white Divine Realm Light fell atop the window. Flecks of red, gold, and gray light danced within the light.

The Divine Realm Light shone on the very center of the room in the Magic Tower.

In the room was a small, meter-tall sapling.

The sapling looked as though it was made out of black crystals, but there were traces of yellow, red, blue, and white light on its surface.

The sapling only had one branch, as well as a singular black crystal leaf.

Weirdly enough, the sapling had four roots. A section of each root was above-ground, and each root faced a cardinal direction: east, west, south, and north. Each root was also a different color: yellow, red, blue, and white, respectively.

Su Ye had a faint sense that all four roots were entrenched deep within the Magic Tower and were absorbing power from an unknown place.
