The Wife of Hades

Chapter 49 - The Doctor's Mistake

So, two days after she had overheard her parents talking about throwing her away, she found herself alone in an adoption center.

"Stay away from Luxia," Mo Han said coldly, glaring at the woman and man. He remembered 19 years ago when Luxia had told him about why she was put into an adoption center.

Naturally, he did not have any good feelings towards the two people that threw his baby away.

Then, he grabbed onto An Luxia's hand and turned around, walking into the house without looking back. An Yuchen, who normally was a polite gentleman, also did not help the woman, and instead glared at her before also walking away.

In the end, the man helped his wife up and rolled his eyes, "These people don't have very good manners! So our daughter was raised in a family like this!"

A little under a minute later, the 8 of them were all seated in the living room, split into three separate couches.

In the middle, An Luxia sat, a little cramped since Mo Han and An Yuchen were on either side of her and the couch wasn't meant for three people.

On the couch next to them, An Ping and Qi Lanyu sat next to each other, both of them looking towards the last couch, where three strangers sat.

He Muya, An Luxia's biological mother.

Li Qiyu, An Luxia's biological father.

And Li Yilan, An Luxia's biological sister who was 4 years younger than her.

Now An Luxia knew why she thought the girl was familiar. . . They were sisters! Of course she looked familiar because they looked quite alike.

However, the two of them did grow up in different environments, so there were some clear differences.

"We finally found you!" Suddenly, almost as planned, He Muya began sobbing as she stood up and took a step forward towards An Luxia.

However, when her eyes met with Mo Han's, she flinched slightly and immediately sat back down, continuing to cry.

Her obnoxious sobs rang in the large living room, and no one gave any sign of a response. Li Qiyu looked around the living room, his eyes sparkling as he scanned the decorations and furniture.

An Luxia narrowed her eyes and leaned back against the couch, "What do you want?"

He Muya immediately stopped crying and blinked a few times, "Yixin, what do you mean? How can you speak to your parents like that? We finally found you after all these years!"

An Luxia smiled fakely, "My name is An Luxia now, Mrs. He. And. . . please don't cause any confusion. You make it sound like you accidentally lost me. . . We all know what happened 20 years ago."

Qi Lanyu cleared her throat a little awkwardly and gently pushed her husband, who finally stopped looking around and also focused on An Luxia.

"Mm. . . Yixin, you should understand us. We had no money for two kids. We didn't want to. . . you know. . . let you go too. However, we had to. We wanted to give a good life to you."

An Luxia scoffed and crossed her arms together, obviously seeing through the simple excuse. However, she quickly remembered something as she furrowed her eyebrows together and looked over at Li Yilan, her "sister".

Li Yilan had finally put away her phone and was also looking around the house with both admiration and envy in her expression.

An Luxia was quite good at reading people, and she could easily tell that Li Yilan wasn't some simple or innocent girl.

She grinned slightly and looked back at her parents, "If I remember correctly. . . 20 years ago, the baby was a boy. What happened to him?"

He Muya exchanged a glance with Li Qiyu, and both of them didn't respond for several seconds. Upon hearing this, Li Yilan also frowned as she looked over at An Luxia.

Finally, He Muya laughed very awkwardly as she looked down at the floor, lowering her voice as she said so softly it was hard to hear, "The doctors made a mistake. It was actually another girl. . ."

Li Yilan's lips twitched upon hearing this as she tightly pressed her lips together. She knew that she was actually a "mistake" and that her parents wanted a boy. When she was young, her father and grandparents had mistreated her several times because of this.

But that wasn't her problem!

An Luxia also scoffed upon hearing this.

Was that karma? They threw her away because they wanted a boy, but they ended up not getting a boy. How funny!

"Anyways, that isn't important, right? A girl is great too!" He Muyu laughed as she looked around the room, only to find that no one was smiling at her, "Um. . ."

"Why are you here?" An Luxia finally asked, narrowing her eyes. It had been 20 years. There was no way they just happened to suddenly find her after 20 years of searching and now were here just to say hi. She did not believe that.

He Muya smiled, "Of course to get you back! You are our daughter after all, so -"

"No!" Qi Lanyu immediately screamed as she jumped up from the couch, glaring at He Muya. The two of them were probably around the same age, but when comparing, it was very obvious that they had lived their past years under different circumstances.

He Muya furrowed her eyebrows together and also stood up, "Are you Yixin's stepmother? How do you have a say in this?! I am her biological mother! Of course she should come back to us!"

Qi Lanyu's body shook with anger, and she opened and closed her mouth several times, trying to find a response.

An Luxia slowly stood up and walked over to her mom. . . Her adopted mother, but her only mother, "Mom, sit down. It's okay."

Qi Lanyu looked at An Luxia and frowned, grabbing onto her daughter's hand. Although An Luxia was not her biological daughter and had no blood relation to her, she loved her baby daughter more than anything!

Her Xiaxia was beautiful, nice, sweet, considerate, smart, and her small little angel! They were only going to take Luxia away over her dead body!
