The WealthTap System: Rising from Rags to Riches

Chapter 84 Pay It Yourself, Your Highness

"Of course you didn't! Of course you didn't mean that, Kia! But isn't that what is the truth? Isn't that what you think deep in your heart? That I am not worthy to be your friend?" beads of tears trickled down Sally's face as she stared at Kiara and cried her heart out.

'Wow, shit just went from 0 to 100 real fucking quick!' Chris was dumbstruck by the following development!

Since when was Cathy this good at playing with people's emotions?! She easily instigated a fight between them like it was some child's play!

"No, Sal, I didn't think like that at all!" Kiara tried to reason with Sally again, who seemed to have been taken over by a demon. No way Sally could say such things to Kiara, right?

"Are you sure, Kia? Because it is not just me who thinks like that. Tina and Jess think the same as me!" Sally pointed at her two friends who were supporting her, "You think we are dumb? You think we can't see your disgust when any one of us tries to correct you?"

"S-Sally, stop…" Tina, who was supporting Sally by her hand, hushed silently.

"Why should I stop, Tina? Since the topic has got to this point, let's not be a wuss anymore!" Sally shook her hand out of Tina's grasp and bellowed.

"N-No way…" Tina backstepped in a bit of fear, maybe it was due to her inherent nature or some past connected to her trauma, she seemed to be really submissive and fearful of Kiara.

But luckily or unluckily, Jessica and Sally had no such issues going head to head with Kiara.

Yes Kiara was very rich, powerful and way beyond their reach. But they were not Tina, they couldn't just bury their self respect and serve Kiara even after they knew nothing would change.

"When did I ever treat you like that? I always treated you as you were supposed to be treated." Kiara tilted her head in utmost confusion. She couldn't understand why the girls were getting so riled up.

"'As you were supposed to be treated' HAHAHA! There! There it is! HAHAHA!" Sally facepalmed, her mouth opening in a creepy maniac laugh. Her laugh spread a strange chill in the air, bringing the temperature of the hall down by a few centigrades.

"Sally, calm down. This arrogant bitch doesn't even realize the words she speaks." Jessica or in short Jess patted Sally's shoulders and spoke in a similar chilly yet calm tone.

"You-" Kiara glared at Jessica who had indirectly called her an arrogant bitch.

"Oh shut up, Kiara. Let me tell you the reason behind this maniac's unhinged laughs. But before that, please tell me the meaning of your words, 'As you were supposed to be treated'?" Jessica cut Kiara's words and asked calmly.

"You! Be glad I consider you my friend or I would have made your life hell for cutting my words." Kiara hissed coldly.

"It is already like hell, Kiara. Just answer my question." Jessica gave her a poker face in return and shrugged.

"Tsk! What do you not understand in my words, huh? I meant what I said. I treat you much, much better than how a low grade family like yours are supposed to be treated." Kiara shrugged back, she was no longer trying to actively patch their friendship back up. They want to rebel? She will show them their place.

"I see. Well if that's your thought process, we can't do anything about it." Jessica sighed hearing Kiara's venomous words.

"There is nothing to be done, Jess. You are my friend. I will forgive your insolence just thi-"

"Who begged for your forgiveness? I said we can't do anything about your thought process. But that doesn't mean I will go back to becoming your play dolls. Sorry but I have a bit of self respect for myself." Jessica cut Kiara's words again, plastering a frown on Kiara's lips, but did Jessica give a shit? Hell nah.

"I don't know about Sally, Tina or Kat. But I am no longer in the mood to be your play doll. Have fun with your fake friends, because you can't have any real ones with your trashy nature." Jessica turned around with a scoff, "Ah, and one last remark as your friend, Kiara you aren't worth shit. All your worth comes from your family, you are worthless."

After leaving a last remark, Jessica simply left the hall with her click of heels echoing in the dead silent hall.

Only after she was half way gone, some people came back to their senses.

The first one of them was Kiara, whose loud voice lingered in the air but no one paid a heed to it, "I SWEAR YOU WILL REGRET IT, YOU LOW GRADE BITCH!"

Hearing her words, Jessica didn't even bother to turn back, she raised her hands and flicked a finger behind, waving her middle finger at Kiara till she was gone out of sight.

Cathy, the instigator of this fall-out simply looked at the receding back of Jessica and smiled softly. It was quite refreshing to see there were some people who had self respect and didn't just exist to serve.

Maybe Jessica's actions had awakened something within Sally too who flicked her middle finger at Kiara and walked away as well without saying anything…

This was too big of a shock for Kiara, not to mention the whole crowd who was watching this drama outside! No way this young lady just made the group of friends fight amongst themselves and fall apart!

Yet, Cathy didn't care about the murmurs and looks she was getting.

"Looks like you don't need more tickets anymore. Too bad, I was even planning to give them to you for free." Cathy faked a smile and waved at Kiara, walking back to the sofas.

"YOU! You are the cause of all this! I will make you pay for it, bitch!" Kiara shouted at Cathy, not caring about her public image.

"Oh my, you are such a rich lady who likes to flaunt her wealth. Why do you need a poor girl like me to pay for your mistakes? Just pay it yourself, your highness." Cathy did a sarcastic courtesy bow to Kiara.

This sent a symphony of laughs and cheers among the crowd who hooted hearing Cathy's sarcastic reply.

'She has changed a lot.' Chris narrowed his eyes at Cathy who today had apparently shown him a side he never knew existed within her.

"Seems we don't need to sell the tickets anymore." Cathy shrugged and tucked the tickets back in Chris's pockets, uncaring about the astonished looks she was receiving.

"Don't think this is the end!" Kiara glared at Cathy one last time and turned around, pushing the TC away from her way as she walked into the hall.

'Kiara Faust, hmm she can be a troublesome enemy.' Chris sighed looking at his dear twin sister.

"What are you thinking? Hurry up or we will miss the start." Cathy noticed her brother's stare and murmured in her monotonous icy voice.

"Pfft, I thought you didn't want to watch it?" Chris chuckled at her words and rubbed her head, 'Meh, Faust or Fox. Bring them on!'

"I still don't want to. Can I go home?" Cathy slapped his hands away.

"Hah, nope."

…

Chris and rest quickly got their tickets checked and entered the theater hall, seating themselves on the allotted seats.

Luckily nothing went wrong during the first half of the movie except that Cassie's popcorn got finished and she began to whine, asking for more.

Cathy herself, despite her lack of excitement regarding the movie, her eyes were glued to the screen the whole time, fully immersed into the film.

"Bastard you should have said before that it was a girl's film!" Max complained for the umpteenth time, sighing in his seat as he was completely unable to connect with the cheesy characters of the film.

"Don't complain to me bastard, Esti said it was an awesome film!" Chris shared the same look as Max, barely holding himself from cringing at the dialogues and story.

As currently the main character of the story was holding the female lead in his arms as he fought against the enemies. This in itself wouldn't have been a bad scene since it was quite romantic to fight with just one hand to protect his lover.

Alas, what made this scene absolutely cringeworthy was the love dialogue between the main character and female lead!

But seeing that Cathy and Cassie were super interested in watching it, Chris was at a loss for words…
