Chapter 57 Humble Abode
"Hmm, Christopher, right?" the cutie read Chris's name from the ID that was hanging down his pocket, similar to many others and continued, "Tell us more about you!"
"Well, hello Layla. Name is Christopher and I have shifted into this city from another city." Chris smiled and gave a short introduction after reading her name from the card, and before they could cross question him, he threw another question of his own.
"You all seem to know each other well."
"Ah yeah, we all were passouts from the Stark Academy. So, we do know each other well, but, we don't know you! So, tell us more!" Layla- the cutie- nodded and then asked excitedly.
"Hmm, what else is to tell? I am new in the city and I bought a new house after shifting here, and had purchased a cafe too for starters." Chris shrugged, the cafe he was talking about was the reward for successfully shifting into the city.
Which he did complete yesterday.
"Oh~ You managed to do both in a short time? Impressive." the hot blonde beauty whose name was apparently Estea, hummed in amusement.
"Hah, he probably bought a small apartment in some red light district." another student who used to sit with the red-head earlier scoffed loudly, earning some nods from others.
The prouder ones like Sierra and redhead didn't bother to comment, but they also felt like the lackey- whose name was Lucky- had some point in his scoff.
Layla and Estea looked at Chris too, they didn't say anything but, the glimmer of doubt was clear in their bright and charming eyes.
"Well, maybe you are right. A small palace in Blue Pearl estate can't compare with your huge houses, can it?" Chris sighed deeply, acting like he genuinely meant what he said.
"A… house in BP…?" they froze for a second, blinking with their disbelief clearly written on their faces.
"Well yeah. So, anyways, I am not used to getting out of classes like this. What's the plan?" Chris blinked innocently and asked Layla.
"A house in BP, huh? Hah! Lie better next time you awakened weakling!" Lucky shouted in rage.
"Well, don't believe it if you don't want to." Chris shrugged, "It doesn't really matter, does it?"
"It matters a lot, hah. What's the plan, you ask? Well, we don't accept losers and weaklings in our group!" Lucky scoffed.
"I see, so? What do you want me to do? Not like we can bunk the university on the first day and come to my house-"
"Chris! You are a genius!" Estea squealed like a young teenage girl and shouted, "Great plan! Let's bunk the university today!"
"Hmm, sounds good. Though it will be a shame to skip Miss Silvia's classes, sigh."
"Pfft, stop simping for Miss Silvia. She is the sacred goddess who is far from reaches of a vile beast like you!"
"Who are you calling a beast, bastard!?"
"Oh, I am sorry for mocking you Mr. Monkey king. Your monkey-like long beard is definitely not beastly."
"Hmm, let's go." Red-head ignored the banter of the two young men and announced.
"Go where, Ralph?" Lucky asked with a blink.
"To the new guy's house." Ralph the red head answered with a shrug.
"What?! Don't tell me you believe him!"
"I don't. But, going there is better than getting bored here. If he was lying… we can just throw him out and go to mine or princess's house." Ralph shrugged carelessly.
"Ohh right! I forgot that, hahaha," Lucky chuckled nervously, knowing well what the 'throw him out' really meant.
With that, the cohort went ahead with the plan with no more interruptions. Since most of them had their own cars, it was quite a fun scene to see a dozen cars speeding on the road together.
Some of the youngsters who were driving themselves also began to race, however Alex was in no mood to go with their childish excitements and since Chris's car driving was subpar, he could just shut up and let Alex drive normally.
Soon, the young cohort reached the nostalgic gate of Blue Pearl Estate.
One may ask, how the hell did they even get out of the university in the first place! Shouldn't there be security and guards to prohibit that?!
Well, the answer was… they just walked out of the door… none og the guards and security stopped them after noticing the people of the cohort.
Mainly the red-head Ralph and Sierra were most fearsome to the guards, having them with them, there was none that stopped them.
Even the traffic signals were broken mostly unless the traffic was inevitable!
Chris could only watch as the weight of that icy bitch and arrogant red-head made people bow and respect them.
Anyways, the cohort was standing on the main gate of BP. And somehow, Chris's car was first in the line.
Alex lowered the window and pointed at the backseat where Chris sat. None words and mocks were exchanged as the guard raised the barrier and let them pass without a fuss.
That increased Chris's respect in eyes of the youngsters by a lot as there could only be two reasons why guard raised barrier without a fuss.
First, Chris lived in this estate indeed and his identity was fearsome enough to shut the guard up.
Second, guard and Chris were brothers in arms to flex infront of his classmates.
Most logical answer was of course first and most of the students believed that… except Lucky who was hellbent on proving that Chris was a lying bastard.
Alex drove slowly to Chris's house and parked the MWB in the garage.
No, he hadn't yet agreed to be Chris's chauffeur yet.
However, with some money being tempted and since the job wasn't too troublesome, Alex agreed to be a trial chauffeur for a week.
"Young master, welcome. Lady Catherine and Cassie have left for some shopping and enrolling lady Cassie in a school." Arthur greeted quickly after seeing Chris return from the university.
Before he can ask the reason for early return, sounds of engines filled his ears and he turned towards the gate to see many other cars enter their small palace.
"They are my friends, it's fine Arthur." Chris smiled and patted the loyal butler who was looking at the cars with sense of hostility.
"Well, welcome to my humble abode." Chris smirked and looked at Lucky who was looking at his big palace like villa with wide eyes.
"Arthur, get the living room prepared please." Chris nodded to his butler and then smiled at Layla, "See, I wasn't lying."
"Ha ha, I had believed you earlier too. But, it's just that we haven't once heard of name Christopher Swarts or something like that." Layla blushed and tried to explain.
"Ouch. That hurts. Anyways, come in." Chris chuckled and gestured them to come in.
Some of his handmaidens came over to take of his blazer gently and then went away without much attention to the handsome ladies and gentlemens that were with Chris.
'Pfft hahahhaha!' Chris laughed in his mind, but keeping his polite act up, he apologized out loud, "They aren't much used to serving guests, please don't mind."
Saying that he sat on the sofa and was soon followed by the rest of the classmates.
Among them all, only Ralph had a small frown on his face as he looked at his blazer which wasn't removed by the maidens as it was supposed to be.
Sierra had a poker face on, his face not depicting any emotions as she sipped on cold refreshments that were sent by Agatha.
"Well well, it's a nice house you have here. How did you even get it, huh?" Lucky blinked and asked innocently.
His meaning clear as he was blaming Chris for some shady businesses. Afterall, they had never heard of him before, and now he was this rich?
"It was an inheritance." Chris shrugged and continued, "I had to move out with my sisters for some time due to some stuff I would rather not discuss."
His handsome face having a shimmer of glare in his eyes.
Seeing the mood getting heavy, Layla quickly came to the rescue and tugged on Chris's black vest coat, "Say, we reached here. Do you have some drinks??"
"Haha," Chris chuckled at her cute behaviour and asked a maid to bring some wine bottles that were already in the prebuilt bar of this masterpiece of a villa.
It was quite ironic that Chris who loved wine so much never once had to buy some for the house, they were either always given with the property or he would drink out.
"Hmm, I also have some VR games and console games." Chris hummed and murmured.
"VR?? Oh hell yeah! Only Ralph and Sierra have those yet! Shit, the BP guys sure are insane!" Layla cheered cutely.
"Oh so you have VR. Let's play it. Also… what's fun in games if there is no betting involved?" Lucky smirked.
