Chapter 17 The 'Business'
"Yawn~" Chris yawned after he woke up due to hearing some disturbance around himself.
'Huh?' he opened his eyes and found Cathy looking at him in pity while Cassie was pinching her nose to show him how stinky he was.
Confused by their reactions, Chris tilted his head and gave them a confused look, he understood Cassie's disgust since last night he sweated a lot and then that sweat evaporated into a stinky feeling it gave, but, why the pity...?
"Chris, you really should try harder on Aria..." Cathy sighed.
"Huh? Well, yeah I like her so I will." Chris gave her a weird look and shrugged.
"Yeah, Chris, even if not she, make another girlfriend." Cathy patted his head and sighed once again.
"Uhh... I am not following you. Anyways, Cath, you are coming with me to check some apartments and properties." Chris dropped the confusing topic and told to Cathy.
"Me, Me! I want to go too!" Cassie quickly intervened, jumping up and down while raising her hands like a little kid asking for their favorite candy.
"Yeah, you are going too, only your destination is the school." Chris smiled at Cassie, a smile that looked like a mocking smirk to Cassie.
"NO! I don't want to go to school!" Cassie shouted back... however, she forgot that Cathy was also there.
"You don't want to go to school, Cass?" Cathy asked lightly, her voice containing no apparent sense of danger that Cassie felt vividly.
"So, you don't want to go to the school in which I and Chris enrolled you into? Even after all that? Is that it, Cass?" Cathy asked again, her voice still the same, a sarcastic, scary smile creeping up her face.
"N-No..." chills ran down Cassie's spine as she managed to fumble a no.
"Hmm, then?" Cathy tilted her head, "You will go to school then?"
"I-I want to go with brother for c-checking the new house..." Cassie lowered her head and pleaded.
"Ohhh, I see. How to do that, I wonder." Cathy nodded in understanding and began to think with her fingers tapping on her chin.
"Now now, leave the poor girl, she will go to school." Chris sighed and pulled Cathy away from bullying the pitiable Cassie.
"She will? She said no though." Cathy turned to Chris and tilted her head.
Yes, that's why she was scary. She doesn't even realize how scary she becomes and thinks she is just speaking facts normally... She doesn't even know that Cassie and Chris were afraid of her!
"She will, she will." Chris nodded and sneakily gestured for Cassie to run away.
"I see, so which properties did you select?" Cathy shrugged and dropped the topic, after all, she was no longer worried about Cassie skipping school.
"You will see." Chris grinned mysteriously and got up to take a nice bath for taking this disgusting stench from his body.
...
"C-Chris... t-that's the 'bike' you bought?" with shaky fingers, Cathy pointed at the new shining KTN Duke that Chris bought.
Some neighbors and people had also come out to look at the bike, and many of middle age ones were looking at it in greed, alas, they can't do anything in front of everybody.
In the bright sunlight, the white metallic body of the bike shined, and its muscular body asserted dominance over every poor pathetic bike or bicycle in the surroundings.
Chris had said that he bought a new bike and took Cathy with him without explaining about the bike... and this resulted in her so shocked behavior.
"Yes. And it is 'ours'." Chris placed his hand around Cathy's shoulders and smiled.
"Just what business did you open?" Cathy asked Chris once again her shock clearly evident in her eyes.
"Please." Chris smiled and copied a famous TV character that he liked very much, this was the same reply that the character also gave when asked about his job.
"I hate you!" Cathy punched Chris in annoyance, although her little cute hands didn't even tickle Chris's body.
"Well, our neighbors sure are giving some heated looks," Chris smirked coldly looking at some people's greedy eyes.
Living in such harsh parts of the world had at least taught Chris to discern people's intentions, and the intentions of his neighbors were... totally not good.
But in broad daylight and having many witnesses around, they could do nothing more than gawk at the flamboyant bike and plan their next actions.
Chris smirked and walked to the bike, dressed in brand new clothes and a costly, fancy denim jacket, he easily drew the attention of all the neighbors.
"Oho, Chrisy!" A middle-aged lady called Chris in a weird nickname she had given, among all of them, she was the only one that could be termed as 'decent'.
"What's with those fancy clothes, you guys won a lottery or something? Well, if you did, you better pay the remaining rent." She looked at the new clothes in greed and scoffed.
"What do you mean by the rent? We have already paid off the rent." Chris gave her a side eye and pushed her figure from his way.
"You dare touch me?!" the Landlady was pretty decent looking and with the make-up she wore, her demand in this neighborhood was high. Especially when she was already known to be in that kind of business.
"You were in my way, I am not interested in a slut like you anyways." Chris scoffed and proceeded to walk towards the bike while Cathy followed him a bit shyly.
You see since Cathy was really pretty, many of the men in the surroundings naturally were attracted by her, and thus that damaged the Landlady's 'demand'.
Due to that, Landlady oftentimes picked on Cathy and made fun of her in front of groups, causing Cathy to dislike her and keep her distance from her.
"Ohh, my dear Cathy also looks really great today, did you finally throw your dignity and join the business?" Landlady saw that Chris wasn't interested in talking with her one bit and thus she chose Cathy as her next target.
Cathy was dressed in an elegant long black one-piece dress and she easily overshadowed any women in this poor neighborhood by a huge margin! That was when Cathy didn't use any make-up!
"No! I didn't!" Cathy shouted hearing such demeaning words from the Landlady's mouth, but the blow was already dealt,
Hearing such words from Landlady's mouth, all men nearby shot a piercing glance towards Cathy's near-perfect hourglass figure, their lust dripping like water flowing from an open faucet.
Immense anger generated from Cathy's being and she glared at Landlady, that slut had already offered the 'business' to Cathy and was denied flatly, but, the landlady didn't stop after that and kept harassing Cathy without Chris knowing.
This was the first time he heard about this and his mind registered the words 'finally' that subtly implied that this wasn't the first time Cathy got such an offer from that slut.
"Hmm~ I see, Miss Sarah, want to put Cathy in 'same' business as her?" Chris opened his mouth, staring straight into landlady-aka Sarah's eyes...
