The Way of The Dao

Chapter 74 Gratitude From Tang Jingtian

Tang Jingtian immediately knelt before Ling Tian, his head lowered.

"What are you doing, brother Jingtian?" Mu Shen was surprised and quickly stepped forward to pick him up, but Tang Jingtian still knelt.

Ling Tian sighed inwardly when he saw this. He could somehow imagine that Tang Jingtian knew he was the one who had healed his mother. How could he know it was him? Ling Tian supposed that Tang Wanying and his mother might have described his appearance and told Tang Jingtian and his father. Tang Jingtian could have assumed it was him, just ask Mu Shen if he knew if Ling Tian was a master alchemist.

Ling Tian did not speak, hoping that Tang Jingtian would say something.

"Thank you very much Brother Tian!"

It wasn't long before Tang Jingtian's voice suddenly sounded. A loud, clear thank it came out of his mouth.

Mu Shen was surprised when he heard this, was there something he did not know?

Ling Tian stared at him for several seconds: "Why are you thanking me?" Although it was obvious, he still asked.

"For saving my mother! I know you were that mysterious great alchemist master who came to my house the day before!" Indeed, Tang Jingtian knew that Ling Tian was the great master alchemist.

"What makes you so sure it was me? It could have been someone else..."

"I'm sure!"

Tang Jingtian responded with a firm voice without hesitation.

Mu Shen was stunned to see this scene without understanding, but he still made no sound.

Ling Tian had a lost expression of not knowing whether to laugh or cry inside, but on the surface, he was still expressionless. This was the same situation as when Mu Shen had knelt as well when he thanked him for saving Mu Shuiruo.

After several seconds, Ling Tian smiled as a gentle, somewhat strong breeze lifted Tang Jingtian from the ground so that he was no longer kneeling.

Tang Jingtian was surprised by what happened to him, what was this strange phenomenon that made him stand up? What was this wind?

Tang Jingtian turned to see Ling Tian and noticed that he was looking at him, with a smile.

"B-brother Tian... was it you...?" Tang Jingtian asked in a trembling voice.

Ling Tian smiled ambiguously: "How is your mother? Is she much better now?" He did not answer his question.

"Y-yes! Thank you very much indeed, Brother Tian!" Tang Jingtian came out of his trance at this moment and answered Ling Tian's question, leaving aside the strange event that happened to him.

Ling Tian nodded, "How did you know it was me? I suppose your mother and younger sister described my appearance, but that would not be enough to be sure it was me..."

Tang Jingtian answered: "At first I suspected it was you, brother Tian, but I could not really believe that you were a great master alchemist. Then my father told me something surprising about a mysterious and powerful young man who had saved the Lord of the City, so I doubted your identity.

When brother Shen came today to accompany sister Shuiruo to stay with my sister, I remembered what we had talked about the first time the three of us met.

I remembered that you had fought against Ming Fen and protected sister Shuiruo, but then brother Shen had said that you had no power at that time, so I began to suspect from there again.

On the way back, I tried to ask Brother Shen several questions, but he knew only little.

Brother Shen had told me that when he found you, you were far from the star city, and that you were very much hurt. So both Brother Shen and Sister Shuiruo were caring for you.

My father had told me that this mysterious young man had long hair, but when I met you, you had short hair, so I asked Brother Shen and indeed he told me that you had long hair before.

In other questions I asked him, I learned that you had knowledge of alchemy and that you had easily made a heavenly elixir the other day, when you were teaching sister Shuiruo.

Also, brother Shen had told me that you had left for the city in the morning, and were not here with them, so it would be easy to add another confirmation.

All I knew was that it was you, Brother Tian..."

Tang Jingtian briefly explained the clues and confirmations he had gathered.

Ling Tian confirmed what he had in mind: 'He really did a lot of research, haaah... I thought he wouldn't notice or at least wouldn't know this for a while, haha'.

People's attitudes always changed when they learned his identity, so he was tired of always seeing the hypocrisy and fear in everyone. For this reason he did not want to be disturbed even though he could overwhelm everyone with his power and make things clear from the beginning, so it is better if he lives quietly without being interrupted by anything. But now looking at Tang Jingtian's reaction, it seems that there wouldn't be much of a problem if they knew his identity.

Mu Shen understood more or less the issue between Ling Tian and Tang Jingtian, but he decided to ask anyway.

Tang Jingtian told him what Ling Tian had done. The grace of saving his mother who was slowly dying.

Mu Shen was surprised when he heard Tang Jingtian say that Ling Tian had healed his mother.

Mu Shen knew that countless masters and alchemists had gone to verify Tang Jingtian's mother's condition, but none of them really knew what she had, therefore they all said that it was apparently a disease of old age, and that there was nothing more to be done.

Mu Shen was dazed when Tang Jingtian told him that his mother had recovered thanks to someone, and that she was not really sick, but poisoned!

The mysterious master alchemist had brought happiness back to the Tang family by healing Tang Jingtian's mother.

Although on the way back, Tang Jingtian was asking him many questions about Ling Tian, he still answered what he knew. Ling Tian knew Tang Jingtian so there would be no problem in talking a little about him.

Mu Shen did not understand why Tang Jingtian got even more excited every time he said something about Ling Tian, as if he heard something that made him happy and gave him more light in his life.

In the end, Mu Shen did not know why Tang Jingtian was so interested in Ling Tian, but now he understood.

Ling Tian had saved Tang Jingtian's mother!

He was the Grand Master Alchemist!

Mu Shen was still more surprised by Ling Tian's abilities.

So that he could heal and discern the problem that Tang Jingtian's mother had when dozens of masters did not know what she had, he in one day, reborn Tang Jingtian's mother again, bringing her back from death's door.

Who was Brother Tian really?

How could he be so skillful?

A great master alchemist at such a young age could only have originated from one of the great families, but he did not belong to any of them.

That's exactly what Tang Jingtian thought at this time.

This guy he met because of Mu Shen, was the one who brought him hope and happiness again by healing his mother!

And to think that he made friends with someone so great and skilled!

Who was he exactly?

Tang Jingtian decided...

Whatever happens, he'd be another true brother to him, just like Mu Shen.

He would pay for this immense grace with his life.
