Chapter 29
Chapter 29: Entering the Water Channel
Jake went on scolding Kyle for picking such bad name. Even Dylan also commented that it was bad.
Kyle didn’t care, though.
It was just a temporary group’s name. He didn’t have any other idea, so he picked whatever came into his mind first.
The others only helplessly followed him.
Kate wanted to protest, but her meowing voice was naturally not very convincing. Not to mention, she couldn’t even communicate properly.
“Do you have gun license or awakened some abilities? When you come out, every group had to donate 10 crystal.” The soldier looked at the three of them indifferently.
“We have gun licenses.” Jake took out his license.
.....
Kyle also showed his while Dylan took out a card and showed to the soldier.
The soldier looked at the three licenses and nodded. “Alright, you group Black can enter the water channel now. Be careful.”
“Got it.”
They lined up and waited for the groups in front of them to enter first.
“Meow,” Kate meowed weakly. She didn’t understand why these three didn’t want to show that they were awakened.
But on another thought, it would be better not to disclose their abilities unless it was necessary.
Still...
‘Why in the world the three of you have gun licenses? Is gun license something that could be easily obtained?’
Kate was scolding inside her head.
After finding that gun inside Professor Kyle’s bag, she had guessed that he had some kind of other identity. But it was only at this moment that Kate felt she was severely underestimating Kyle and his friends.
Their identity must be really high.
She felt troubled.
Would it be fine for her to be associated with these people?
She felt a bit out of place.
Splash!
Entering the water channel, this group of people looked around the area. It was damp, smelly, and dark. There didn’t seem to be anything suspicious around.
Well, aside from the fact that the smell of blood was also quite thick.
“There has been a lot of people coming in. The soldiers are timing that each group will enter with five minutes’ difference so that we will not clash against each other too easily.” Jake looked around curiously and grinned.
Kyle nodded. “Let’s go.”
“Where are we going?”
“Anywhere is fine.”
“Meow.”
Kate looked at her ‘owner’ and felt that he could be unreliable at time too. Tsk, the time she spent interacting with this professor was extremely limited, so she didn’t know that he was actually such a person.
But when they began the battle, Kate realized that she was wrong.
He didn’t care because he could afford it.
Damn it!
These giant rats were owned by these three as if they were children.
Blaaar!
Fire burst out and enveloped the giant rat in front of them completely. It extinguished, leaving only a crystal in the water that Dylan picked up by controlling the water.
Jake was helping out by controlling the additional metals around him, stabbing the giant rat with ease.
Bang!
Jleb!
The scene was gory.
But for some reason, Kate felt that she didn’t feel that troubled when she saw these rats falling. Was it because she had natural hate for rats and would rather see them all die?
Kate began to wonder whether it was because of her current identity as ‘half cat’ or was there any other reason.
“They’re fairly weak at this stage.”
“What’s the rank of your abilities?
