The Villain's Little Cat

Chapter 277 - 277 Resting Period <3>

277 Resting Period <3>

<Kate’s side>

The dinner didn’t seem to be that much different from the time when Kate was still a cat. It was a short but nice dinner. When the dinner was done, Kate felt sleepy and directly turned into a cat before sleeping on the sofa.

Kyle looked at Kate helplessly.

One of the disadvantages of her transformation ability was that the fusion caused her to have both the body of an adult and a child at the same time. As a child, she needed more rest than what an adult would need.

This was the reason why she kept on sleeping from time to time.

“Kyle.”

Hearing the call, Kyle raised his head and looked at his father. “What is it?”

“Stay in City E for the next month as things calm down. Also, Dylan’s parents texted me, saying that they want to give Dylan position within the city so that he didn’t need to participate in dangerous mission again.”

Kyle arched his eyebrows. “I’ll stay in City E. Dylan agrees?”

.....

“Yes. He wants to focus on research and no longer fought at the battlefield.”

Dylan is powerful, but he didn’t necessarily like to fight. Besides, his water ability had mutated to form ice, which was rare and might make him also targeted by others. After all, some people hated these special awakened who could gain more benefit.

They felt that it was not fair.

Though, their reaction was not as strong as when they were facing Kate’s reverse healing.

That mutation was simply… outrageous.

“That’s fine.” Kyle nodded.

“The others will also be assigned temporary position until there’s a mission again. But for the time being, I don’t advise you to get out, especially when there are a lot of people who are targeting you.”

The incident in City H had already caused Kyle to be on the limelight. Not to mention, there were also other forces who were setting their eyes on them at this period of time.

General Ryan didn’t want anything to happen to his son, so he hoped this troublemaker could tone down slightly.

“I know.” Kyle was calm. He looked at his hand and chuckled lightly. “Besides, there aren’t that many people who will be able to go against us here.”

General Ryan scoffed and felt like kicking his son out.

“How about Dylan’s Family business?”

“It’s going well.”

“How many survivors are there in this nation?” Kyle suddenly asked another question.

General Ryan was stunned. He sighed deeply. “Our nation had the population of around 3 billion people before the mutation occurred. Right now, it’s estimated that there are only around 1 billion of people who survived.”

The world had around 20 billion of people in total, so it was a staggering number. Their nation was not the nation with the highest population, but it was still a considerable number.

For so many people to die… Kyle could only imagine that the world would enter an era with recessive economy.

“From a total of 20 billion people, it’s estimated that only around 5 to 6 billion of people are left. Our nation still has a lot of people, but this is just an estimation because there has been several nuclear weapon used in the country to suppress the giant mutated animals.” General Ryan looked at his son. “The end number might be less.”

“I see.”

“You’re not planning on killing the rest of the people, are you?”

“I’m not a psychopath.” Kyle rolled his eyes. He felt that his father’s expectation of him was getting lower and lower. “I’m thinking of finding a secluded place as an emergency plan to stay with Kate.”

General Ryan looked at his son. With around 5 to 6 billion of people left, it would be easier to find empty space as compared to before. However, there were many areas that were not suitable for living due to the nuclear weapon.

“Up to you.”

“Heh, you’re surprisingly supportive.”

General Ryan snorted and walked out. He didn’t want to stay here any longer lest his blood pressure would rise to an uncontrollable range.

After the dinner time, General Ryan took a rare walk towards the Research Institute. It was not like he had nothing else to do, but he felt that he had to have a talk with Kate’s Father.

After all… he knew how unreliable his son could be.

That troublemaker had already caused a lot of people to want his head even during peaceful time. Now that he was also being targeted by so many people, Kate’s Father really couldn’t imagine how many people were eyeing Kyle’s head.

He wanted to protect his son.

But he also knew that this annoying brat was stronger than him.

In any case, he wanted to help his son to achieve his own happiness. Regardless of what had happened in the past, he still loved his son deeply.

“You’re here.” Kate’s Father looked at General Ryan and shook his head. “I guess you’re here to talk about your son.”

“I don’t have anything else to talk with you.” General Ryan looked at Kate’s Father helplessly. “Professor Kinsley, do you mind handing your daughter to my son?”

Kinsley is Kate’s Father’s last name. It was also Kate’s last name, but she rarely used it because there were not many occasion that required her to use this special last name of hers.

Kate’s Father looked at General Ryan and shook his head. “Even if I disagree, I don’t think I can stop either of them.”

His daughter is stubborn.

After living with his daughter for a long period of time, he naturally knew about his daughter’s personality.

Once she had decided on some matters, she will never change it no matter how others persuaded her.

That was why Kate’s Father could only silently support Kate and made sure that she would not be harmed. It was just that… he still felt sour and bitter in his heart because his beloved daughter is about to be taken by an annoying man.
