Chapter 261 - 261 Blood Stained Hands <7>
261 Blood Stained Hands <7>
And how this will develop was not something they could guess either.
They all felt silent.
In the end, Lotte’s eyes were red as she switched the conversation, “Has Jake woke up?”
“He’s mentally exhausted, so it might take a bit longer.”
“How about Dylan?”
“He should be awake once he had recovered mentally too.”
Kyle looked at his two best friends and sighed deeply. If not because he rushed over to find Kate, they might not need to face the first impact of these giant mutated animals’ attack. After all, he could stay with them to help them fended the giant mutated animals.
But when he saw these people’s treatment, something snap in his mind.
He couldn’t think about anything else.
.....
All he wanted was to rush to Kate’s side and protected her so that she would not need to hear these cruel words.
“City H would be no more after this.” Kyle closed his eyes. “And those higher ups might also be interested in the reason why a lot of giant mutated animals are interested in City H. That might be able to tone down the interest towards reverse healer a bit.”
“The higher ups not care but how about the ordinary people? They would only know that there are a lot of giant mutated animals in City H and tried to stay away from it. But then their topic will definitely talk about reverse healer.” Lotte clasped her fingers in anger.
She knew at least that much.
And with so many giant mutated animals suddenly attracted to City H, it was estimated that there will be people who were sent there to investigate.
After going there, they would be greeted with the sight of those withered corpses…what would they think then?
That the rumor about the reverse healers were the truth?
The mood turned even gloomier.
“Wang! Wang!” <Master, are you sad?>
Robby licked Marc’s face, trying to lift his Master’s mood. He couldn’t understand their conversation and the matter of reverse healer. For him, he only knew that Kate is powerful and that this little cat is his friend.
That was the only thing that mattered for him.
Thus, Robby couldn’t understand the gloomy mood that permeates on this car.
“How nice it is to be a dog.” Marc looked at his dog helplessly and patted Robby’s head. “Don’t be naughty and stay silent, ok?”
Marc sighed deeply.
Robby didn’t understand, but he understood very well. His intelligence was quite good, which was the reason why some of his classmates were either jealous of him or wanted him to teach them in some lessons.
And in this matter, he understood very well that this incident could be used for many things.
The situation didn’t look good for the Reverse Healers people.
Even if some people sided with them, when it was said that these reverse healers had killed a lot of people, what could they say? That they were forced?
Would they believe it?
They would just argue back that the reverse healers were so powerful, how could it be possible for them to be forced?
And then, the argument continued that even powerful people have their weakness. No one is perfect. They had their Achilles heel that would make them crumble the moment it was touched.
The argument continued.
And it would probably be never ending.
Marc sighed deeply as he thought about it in his mind.
“Whine” <Ok >
Robby’s head dropped down and he placed it on Marc’s shoulder. While he didn’t understand, he still wanted to console his Master, so he leaned close to Marc.
Beside them, Lucy looked at Robby and stretched her hand, hugging the large golden retriever dog. She really need comfort, even if it was only hugging a big dog.
Time passed silently.
They didn’t talk about this matter anymore because they felt that it was useless even if they talked about it. There was no suitable method to resolve it by themselves and only running away might give them some comfort.
If they were not being accepted, then they will just make their own place where they would be able to do things freely.
Without those hypocrites.
Without those b*stards.
Without those annoying people who would try to take advantage of them or using them again.
Perhaps, there would be another way.
But for now, they couldn’t think of anything.
They just wished that they could stay alive and get out of this area where there were countless giant mutated animals still rushing towards City H.
“Mmmh.”
And it didn’t take long for Dylan to be the first one to wake up.
“Hmm?” Dylan opened his eyes slowly. He extended his hand and upon sensing that there was no pain, he slowly sat up. The only way it was possible for him to feel no pain was if either Kyle or Kate used healing ability.
His gaze swept everyone before stopping at Kate and there was a faint frown on his forehead. “Not awake?”
“Not yet.”
Kyle was holding Kate and could feel that her fever was going down. However, Kate was still sleeping peacefully as if there was nothing that could disturb her. Her closed eyes made her looked more fragile than usual.
It made Kyle unwilling to leave her alone even if it was just for a second.
“An abandoned hut.” Dylan pointed at a location not far from there. “Stop there.”
“Can you point out the way?” Lotte asked, wiping her eyes with one of her hands. Thinking about the unconscious Jake just made her want to cry, but she didn’t want to show this kind of appearance in front of other people.
Dylan paused for a moment then said, “I’ll drive.”
“Have you recovered?”
“Good enough.” Dylan thought for a moment before adding, “Not much ability.”
“Ok.”
Everyone was tired and no one wanted to come back to City E directly. They were not ready to face what they might face in City E.
If it was the same as City H, it would be better for them to roam around.
