Chapter 93: I Hate Expressionless Faces (1)

Chapter 93 – I Hate Expressionless Faces (1)

Lin Yiyi had a full day’s rest after her trip….

Actually, not exactly. Half of the day was spent fishing and barbequing.

She went to work at her restaurant the next day.

It was her own restaurant after all. Even if she had to work on her knees, she’d still keep it going!

When she arrived at 10 AM, she received a very warm welcome from her employees.

How could she not?

Their boss might not be at work, but her news was all over the place.

One just had to click open the browser on their cellphone to see her list under the top 3 most searched list.

Then there’s WeChat. She was also on their top trending searches.

Even in the entertainment news on TV, she was mentioned from time to time.

Had she not decided to open up a restaurant instead of going back to the entertainment circle, she might very well have become a tier 1 actress already.

Many of the tier 1 actors / actresses were not as popular as their boss lately!

She had only been gone for half a month, but she felt as though she had returned home. All the familiar faces made her feel a little emotional.

She called everyone over, put down the two extra large shopping bags in her hands, and started handing out the gifts.

Her restaurant had been open for just a month.

After subtracting the promotional activities from the first week, utilities and rent, salaries for the employees, she had made about $30,000 or so.

That’s also after paying the salaries for the two chefs that they have hired. Granted, that’s money that needed to be spent.

Sometimes, the environment could have a lot of impact on an individual.

In the past, making money was the first and foremost for Lin Yiyi. Now she didn’t even think much of the tens and thousands of yuans…

Luckily, she didn’t enjoy shopping as much as Ms. Lin Ping did. After all, that was about the most expensive hobby one could have.

During her trip, she mostly brought back gifts for others.

The original owner didn’t have a lot of friends anyway, might as well bring these gifts and hand them out to the employees.

She even gave the two chefs a very extravagant gold ring each.

Dubai was quite well-known for their gold market!

One of the employees received a bottle of Chanel perfume and happily posted a picture of it on her friend’s circle: “The gift the boss brought back from Dubai.” She even posted different angles of the bottle of perfume. The envious reply came almost immediately.

“That must cost at least several hundred yuan at the cosmetic counter. Your boss is so nice!”

“That looked like a 501. That’s like over $1,000 yuan, alright?”

“She thought of her employees when she was travelling? What an excellent boss.”

The employee turned her nose upward and responded with, “That’s nothing. Our boss gave the manager a Gucci purse. Retail at $8,800 yuan at the store. Our manager swapped to the new purse and tossed her old one right then and there.”

A string of “rich boss” etc. etc. followed underneath that.

Finally someone asked, who’s this TRH (Tall, Rich, and Handsome) boss of yours?

That’s when the employee remembered how she used to be ashamed to tell her friends that her boss was the infamous Lin Yiyi because she didn’t want them to go after her with pitchforks…

But ashamed no more! She thrusted out her chest proudly and said, “My boss is WRP (White, Rich, and Pretty) Lin Yiyi! Yes, that Lin Yiyi. The one who just returned from Dubai.”

Lin Yiyi had no idea what was going on under her employee’s WeChat account. It was just 11 AM, well before lunch time for most companies, but customers were already starting to arrive. It has only been a matter of minutes, and a line had already formed outside of the restaurant.

Lin Yiyi was quite surprised and asked the manager, “Has business been that good lately?”

Or have you organized more promotional activities while she was gone without her knowledge?

The manager was a vain girl too. She nodded and said proudly, “It does alright. Our shop is pretty well known, many came because of that. So, yes, our business is slightly better than that of our peers.”

Lin Yiyi was a little baffled.

Why did they all act like this was normal?

Business certainly was that good before she left!

The manager said profoundly, “Boss, you are the treasure of our shop!”

Her employees were way better than she had hoped…

Ever since the first person had divulged about Lin Yiyi a few days ago, all of the others started boasting about their own WRP’s restaurant and totally sold out their boss.

The end result was very noticeable.

The customers originally came because of curiosity or just for the hype, but once they were here, they had then fallen for all the delectable food.

All in all, by the time Lin Yiyi had realized that, she had already put her apron on and was being pushed into the kitchen by her employees to start cooking.

But there were so many customers, how long would this take?

Hey, she hasn’t even had lunch yet!

Lin Yiyi’s “Number One” shop had become very popular within the city that it was in.

Lin Yiyi had only wanted to be a restaurant owner when she opened up the sho. She never expected that it’d become one that was raved about on the internet…

Some of the visitors took video clips of dining there; others even uploaded them to some streaming channel and commented on all sorts of dishes.

All in all, the restaurant that was already busy became even busier.

What could Lin Yiyi do?

She felt fairly despair too…

Time to hire more employees!
