Chapter 55 – I wasn’t poisoned after all (1)
When Lin Yiyi drove her two children to school the next morning, Meng Yuran struck up a conversation with her out of the norm.
“Mom, let’s have Uncle Wang take us to school again going forward. You don’t know that, but Uncle Wang has been worried about losing his job.”
From Lin Yiyi’s perspective, they didn’t really need to have a chauffeur; it was purely a waste of money.
But, Ms. Lin Ping was the one who cut the check out for Lao Wang, so it wasn’t her place to question that.
It was a despicable act to ruin someone’s livelihood. To the extent that Ms. Lin Ping has no shortage of money, there was no need to commit such a sin.
“You are my children. Of course I should drop you off and pick you up in person.” Lin Yiyi carried on, “I don’t have that much going on anyway. I might as well.”
Her words warmed the hearts of the two children.
Meng Yuran’s lips curved up, and he gave a slight smile.
Yet, he still went on to say, “I am almost graduating grade school. After that, I will be biking to school. It’s not that far away from home anyway.”
Having said that, he nicely segued into, “That being said, mom, haven’t you mentioned a while back that you want to open up your own restaurant? Have you found the right location yet?”
What Xie Ning had said last night had really inspired him.
Just like he said, if his mom was to focus all her time on the shop and streaming, she wouldn’t have time to look for a stepdad for them.
After the nouveau riche by the username of Tyrant had rained airplanes over the course of two days, Lin Yiyi’s channel had pulled ahead of other new food channels and became established.
Even though she hasn’t been receiving as many airplanes as she had previously, her channel was now maintaining itself. Especially when more and more housewives or those who were interested in cooking had started to follow it.
As her streaming channel had been bringing in a steady stream of income, Lin Yiyi had put the idea of opening up her own shop on the back burner.
Now that she was reminded by her instant son, she was entertaining the idea once again.
There was a lot to take into consideration in the past, plus she had to take care of her children at home. All things considered, she never made up her mind whether to move forward with the idea.
But summer vacation was quickly approaching, and then she would have even more free time on hand. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to have something else to occupy her time.
Once an idea that had been put away for a while had been picked up again, the desire burned even more eager than before, and she couldn’t wait to finalize all the details.
Lin Yiyi reached out to a property management company after she dropped off her children.
They lived quite close to the center of town, and there was a lot going on in the surrounding area – there were two conjoining shopping mall and a sizeable shopping center. There was no shortage of rental locations.
Following the recommendation of the property management, she had picked up a few locations that were close to home, her children’s schools, and also meet her requirements. All she needed to do was to check them out in person.
Sometimes, once a person had made up her mind, everything else just seemed to fall into place.
It only took Lin Yiyi two days to pick out a location for her new restaurant, paid the deposit, signed the contract, and paid the rent.
When the rest of the family found out about it, she had already secured a team to start the remodeling.
