The Vampire's Love: You Are My Destiny

Chapter 76 - Trespassers

The couple reappeared inside Laura's room in the house.

Graven placed Laura's unconscious body gently in the bed.

Rebecca scrutinized the worried expression on Graven's face. "You look so worried about her? Why is that-?" she observed.

"She is my sister-in-law after all. She is under my responsibility right now. If something bad happened to her, my father and brother will surely feel devastated," Graven replied.

Rebecca smirked. "Go now. I'll take care of her. I'll inform you if she already regained her consciousness," she said.

Graven looked at Laura's sleeping form one last time before he left the room.

Rebecca stared at Laura's face. "Ah, you're so lucky my dear. You are loved by the brothers!" she said without an ounce of envy in her eyes.

Laura groaned in her sleep then went silent again.

Rebecca left Laura's side and went to the window. She stared at the woods on the north side, lost in her own thoughts.

A moment later.

Laura screamed in her sleep. Rebecca jumped on her feet startled by the sudden scream. She rushed to her side. "Laura dear...wake up!" she said gently.

Laura opened her eyes and looked at her. "They're going to kill me!" she screamed again.

"Who?" Rebecca asked.

"Those vampires!" Laura said.

"No need to panic, dear. Graven and I already killed those vampires. We burned their bodies to ashes, they can no longer hurt you," Rebecca assured her. "Look around you...you're already back in your bed, safe and sound," she said.

"A-are you sure?" Laura asked. She roamed her eyes around her, she's indeed back in the room. Huge relief washed over her. "Thank you, God!" she finally said with relief.

"What happened back there?" Rebecca asked, wanting to know how she got abducted by the vampire.

Laura took a deep breath. "I dunno... things happened so fast! I have no idea how it happened," Laura closed her eyes trying to remember what exactly happened back in the woods. Then slowly she recalled everything. "I saw a white rabbit darting around the trunk of the trees, I stared at it for a few seconds fascinated by the cute white animal. Then the next thing I know, a black figure appeared behind me, silencing my mouth with his hands, and took me away. Things happened so fast that I have no time to call for help. Then I lost consciousness. That's all I remembered..." she explained.

"They put you to sleep," Rebecca murmured. "We found you up in the tree. A vampire was holding you possessively in his arms while sitting on the branch of the tree," she said.

"Then what happened next-?" asked Laura.

Rebecca shrugged. "Well, Graven fought with the other five vampires up in the air while I seduce the one who is holding you. The vampire who captured you is not wise enough though 'coz when I offered him my blood, he drank greedily not knowing that he will get poisoned in the end..."

"Why is that?" asked Laura, confused.

"Well, when I'm still a young child, my parents made me swallowed an incantation that would make my blood poisonous to vampires. They did it to protect me from the vampires," Rebecca replied.

Laura finally understood now. "Ah, I see..." she said and looked at the woman in the eyes. "Thank you so much for saving me, Rebecca. You have saved my life a lot of times already. I don't know how to repay you," she said feeling grateful for the woman's help.

"Don't mention it. As long we're together and you need saving, I'm always ready to save you the best I can..." Rebecca said.

"B-but why?" Laura can't understand the reason why this woman is willing to help her at all times.

Rebecca smiled. "Don't ask too many questions. In due time you will know everything and you will understand why. In the meantime, I want you to continue resting and stay in the bed the whole day," she instructed her.

"Okay," Laura replied and close her eyes.

Rebecca went to the door and exited.

Outside.

Graven was waiting for Rebecca's presence in the living room.

Rebecca lowered herself on the couch facing him.

"How is she?" Graven asked.

"She's fine," Rebecca answered. "Allow her to rest the whole day. We can travel tomorrow morning," she suggested.

"Okay," he accepted her suggestion. "I want to go back to the woods," he said.

"What for? We already killed the vampires there," she spoke.

"I want to check if there are still deranged vampires lurking in that area. I want to get rid of any parasites that are lurking around my property," he said and rose to his feet.

"I'll come with you! I'm getting bored here. I want some actions!" Rebecca said.

"Alright, let's go!" Graven said.

A few seconds later, the couple vanished from the living room.

They appeared in the woods, in the clearing where the old family cemetery was located.

Graven looked at his companion. "We will split in searching for any intruders lurking around the area," he said.

"OK," Rebecca responded and went to the west side of the woods.

Graven proceed to the north side looking for vampires or anyone who is trespassing the property.

One hour later.

Rebecca can't find anything on the west side of the woods, she went further east.

Graven can't also find anything suspicious on the north side, so he proceeds to the south part of the woods. The woods are peaceful, with no indication that someone or other entity was inhabiting it except for the occasional sounds of insects and animals as well as birds chirping and hopping in the branches of the tree.

Two hours later.

Graven and Rebecca met up in the clearing.

"I didn't find anything suspicious while searching the west and east side of the woods," Rebecca reported.

"Me too. I have searched the whole north and south area, nothing so far. Which means those vampires are just trespassers in this woods, and they don't come in huge numbers," Graven expressed his guess.

"That's also my guess," Rebecca replied.

He stared at the tombs sticking in the ground. They are the ancestors of the previous owner of the house. He promised the old man who already migrated to the next town a long time ago that he won't demolish this old cemetery because it has a sentimental value to him. "Let's go back to the house," he finally said.

"Okay," Rebecca responded with a nod.

The couple vanished instantly from the woods.
