Chapter 38
They So Absolutely Got into A Fight
“As you wish.” Lin Wan thought about the stupid things people did in their student years. Song Jing probably had an embarrassing past from her school days with Lin Wan. Lin Wan secretly felt relieved. Because she sure as hell didn’t remember the past anyway.
“Please, if anyone asks, just say that we have a good relationship,” requested Song Jing.
“Sure. I can remain silent.”
Song Jing wondered why Lin Wan was so calm.
“I haven’t had your WeChat contact for so many years. Let’s add each other and keep in touch.” Song Jing took out her phone.
‘Does her former classmates know the past of the original owner of this body?’ thought Lin Wan. She accepted Song Jing’s friend request. However, she did wonder why the original owner of her body wasn’t a part of the group chats since WeChat group chats were so common these days.
“Do you have a group chat sort of thing with old classmates?” Usually, everyone liked to talk about their school days in the group chat. Lin Wan figured they would have one too.
Song Jing was stunned. “Yes, I do. I’ll add you in. No one had your WeChat ID for so many years. Otherwise, I would have invited you a long time ago.”
Lin Wan could sort of guess that the original owner of the body might have had a rocky relationship with others and didn’t want to be part of the group chat. But if she was going to have to spend some time here, she wanted to know more about her past here. She nodded.
Song Jing sent an invite to Lin Wan. She thought that so many years had passed, and everyone was already an adult. Everyone made mistakes in their school days. The past was the past.
However, when Lin Wan’s name appeared in the group chat of Yunxi High School, Wu Zhenzhen sent a direct message to Song Jing.
“Song Jing, you’re crazy.” Wu Zhenzhen’s words were reproachful.
Wu Zhenzhen and her classmates had pushed Lin Wan into the men’s room and tore her skirt. They hadn’t expected Lin Wan would someday be married to the Chairman of Chenxin Group.
“Lin Wan, I have to go back and make some preparations. See you at nine.” When Song Jing heard her phone ring with more messages, she made an excuse and left in a hurry. She wanted to explain to the others why she had added Lin Wan to the group.
“You guys can just add each other on WeChat if you have to participate in the event together. Why did you add her to the group chat though?” Zhao Dan created a small separate group chat to discuss this.
“We watched the live broadcast,” said Wu Zhenzhen. “Lin Wan is always criticized by the viewers but her husband is super supportive. He is also a very prominent person. Don’t you think she will find our personal information and take revenge on us for what we did to her?”
Wu Zhenzhen was just a small saleswoman in a luxury store. If Lin Wan wanted revenge, she could destroy her as easily as squashing an ant.
“That was a prank, and we were all young. I don’t think Lin Wan cares about it anymore. She even greeted me politely,” Song Jing explained.
“Don’t forget we all played a part in it,” said Zhao Dan. “You are an idiot, Song Jing.”
“Why did you create another group chat?” came a new message from Wen Rong. She had just gotten off work. “I just got off work.”
“Song Jing added Lin Wan into the school group chat. She is an idiot,” Zhao Dan informed.
“Dandan, you still haven’t changed your bad habit of spewing vulgarities. We’re all in the same boat, so don’t start an internal fight.” Wu Zhenzhen pretended to be calm.
“Why are you so nervous? It’s not like nobody does stupid things when they are young,” Wen Rong said calmly but she was also feeling a bit afraid.
“I told Lin Wan not to mention the past. She agreed.” Song Jing recalled her short conversation with Lin Wan. Lin Wan hadn’t looked angry.
“I’ve already added her. If I kick her out of the group, it will only make things worse. I won’t text in this group anymore,” Wu Zhenzhen said.
Lin Wan opened the group chat and looked at them one by one. There were only 48 people in the group, and all the names were unfamiliar to her.
Soon, someone sent a “welcome” emoji.
Following that, the others did the same.
“Long time no see, School Belle.”
“Welcome home, my most beautiful classmate.”
“Do you still remember us? I haven’t heard from you in so long.”
...
However, Lin Wan noticed that those welcoming her were all men. She suspected whether she was in the wrong group chat.
She clicked on some names to see that there were girls from her school too. But none of them said anything. ‘What did the original owner go through in high school?’ she wondered.
Lin Wan suddenly felt a pain in her heart. However, from these words of welcome, Lin Wan could guess that the original owner of her body had been very beautiful in high school. Beautiful girls were envied by others, so perhaps that was the reason why no other girls greeted her.
Lin Wan politely replied with a “thank you” emoji.
Then, she received a friend request from someone named Luo Xi. Lin Wan pressed the accept button.
Luo Xi did not send a message immediately.
A broadcast was made to inform everyone to gather around. Lin Wan went straight to the stadium.
Li Yanchen and the rest had already arrived. When he saw Lin Wan walking over, Li Yanchen waved to her. To his surprise, the woman stopped where the Xiao Xiao family had gathered.
[Why is Lin Wan on someone else’s team? LMAO BISH DEFO FIGHTING!]
[Li Yanchen is going over to her. He’s lining up behind the Xiao Xiao family too.]
[A man who knows how to coax people when quarreling is a good man.]
[This woman is really something. Please ask her to leave. I really want to tie her up.]
Seeing the man walking over, Lin Wan frowned and moved to the side.
Li Yanchen was speechless.
Li Zexuan also felt that the atmosphere between his father and stepmother was not right. “Did you guys quarrel?”
“Quarrel?” When Li Zexin heard the word, he repeated it loudly in shock. Everyone heard them and looked at Li Yanchen and Lin Wan in disbelief.
Even though Lin Wan’s relationship with her stepson wasn’t ideal, everyone knew that she and Li Yanchen were very loving towards each other. How could they have quarreled?
Lin Wan shook her head.
[How can a married couple not quarrel? Let them quarrel all they like, why are you making a fuss?]
[That’s right. It’s so boring.]
[Anan is here. Look!]
Anan was carrying a violin on her back, while An Yang and Song Jing held little gift boxes.
...
“Welcome, Anan. You’ll be doing missions together in the coming days with the rest of the families. I wish you all a good time.” The staff member introduced them.
“I’m very happy to be part of this live broadcast. Please bear with me in the future. I’ve prepared a small gift that I personally designed for everyone. I hope everyone likes it.” An Yang, along with his daughter and wife, bowed to the other four families and gave out the gifts.
[The Anan family seems good too. It seems that Lin Wan is still at the bottom.]
[He even brought a gift that he personally designed.]
[I’ve used up all my hearts. I’ve used my hearts.]
[They are classmates and have received the same education. Why is there such a huge difference between them?]
The live comments began to compare Lin Wan with Song Jing.
When An Yang handed the gift to the Li family, he looked at Lin Wan. “Mrs. Li, Song Jing often talks about you. Now I see that you are even more elegant than she described. And President Li, you are also very gentlemanly. You two are a perfect match.”
