Chapter 488: Chapter 293: Human Immortal? The Great Demon, Fallen!_2

Snap!

The sound of something extremely hard shattering echoed, scattering red-and-white debris everywhere. Mr. Xu felt a sharp stabbing pain and then his body felt light, as if it had no substance.

“Senior Elder, spare me!”

Being an elder of the Ghost Soul Sect, how could he not understand what he was currently experiencing? His soul had been extracted. Now, the only thing he could hope for was for the senior elder to show mercy and give him a chance to transform into a ghost cultivator.

Ahhh!!!

A bloodcurdling scream echoed as Mr. Xu could feel his soul being brutally invaded. Everything he had experience and seen was revealed without reservation before the eyes of this terrifying demon.

“Hehehe, well worth the expectations, young one. Indeed, you have brought a great opportunity to me.”

As he rifled through the elder’s memory, the demon couldn’t help but laugh with excitement. His gargantuan body shook with laughter, a dark aura surging from him and filling the grand hall in an instant.

“Chou Li, watch over the mansion. If the other two try to send someone to ask, tell them I have found trace of the enemy and have gone out to look for him.”

“Yes.”

Roar~

An excited roar was accompanied by surging dark aura, shooting towards the sky and obscuring the day. Not only did it draw the attention of numerous elders and disciples in the mountain gate, but it also caught the attention of the two other powerful beings.

“What’s going on?”

“What is this guy planning?”

The disappearance of a Heavenly Immortal could not be concealed, especially from the other two immortals who had almost always been by his side.

Thus, when the demon left, he did so with a grandeur that was more flamboyant than usual, and because of this, he did not stir the interest of the other two, who were just slightly surprised. They did not send anyone to ask and soon diverted their attention elsewhere.

The dreadful demon headed straight to a secluded valley, following the information extracted from the elder’s memory, and quickly found the gateway to the secret realm. As he made his way inside, his form staggered momentarily,

Witnessing towering mountains covered in fog, bathed in radiant lights. Cascading waterfalls, like a hanging scroll, created a sight so magnificent it felt otherworldly. Between these valleys, the spiritual Qi was dense, the scent of medicinal herbs pungent. Ancient buildings scattered on each peak, hidden amongst the trees.

This secret realm was vast, filled with blooming flowers, jade grass carpeting the grounds, and a myriad of rare, exotic beasts. It was a perfect place for cultivation. Between the heavens and the earth, many symbols appeared, intertwining to form a divine order that guarded the mountains and the old, dilapidated buildings, preventing anyone from stepping a foot over the boundary.

“Indeed, it’s great!”

Looking at this deserted secret realm, the demon felt a bit of regret, but quickly became excited.

Because traces of the glorious past left by the sect that once occupied this place were everywhere. He even found signs of the existence of the “Upper Chapter”, the floating palace. However, the majestic Flying City Immortal Palace that was supposed to be suspended between mountains was nowhere to be seen.

“My ‘Upper Chapter Palace’!”

Standing in the air above a mountain that had been cut in half, the demon looked partially gloomy as he looked down. There should’ve been an immortal palace there, but now there was nothing. Clearly, it had been taken away by his lucky descendant.

“Well, at least it did not fall into the hands of others and instead ended up with my obedient descendant. It’s the same as if it were in my hands.”

The demon quickly adjusted his mood, and anticipation and desire appeared in his eyes.

In the information he obtained from soul searching, this secret realm was more than one layer – this was merely the outermost layer floating on the surface. An even deeper level was the real treasure trove of this already declining Immortal Sect.

Every Immortal Sect of Taoism with an inheritance would prepare a similar secret realm. The sky would have unpredictable winds and clouds, the moon would wax and wane, and no one could guarantee that the teachings of the sect would continue unabated. Considering the possible extinction of the inheritance, preparing a secret realm in advance was the common choice.

Obviously, this was the legacy secret realm left by the once highly splendid Immortal Sect, with the intention to rise again one day and return to its former glory even after the sect’s destruction and the interruption of the inheritance.

However, all arrangements left by this Immortal Sect – destroyed unknown years ago – would fall into his hands today.

Even though it was his descendant with a thriving fate who discovered this, unfortunately, his strength was too weak, and he was trapped within. In order to save his life, he had to ask for his help and couldn’t reap this all by himself – such a pity indeed.

This was clearly a tremendous opportunity prepared for him!

“My good descendant, your ancestor is here to save you!”

With greed for the fleeting Immortal Palace of the flying city and a desire for the inheritance of Earth Immortal, this Human Immortal realm great demon quickly located the concealed teleportation formation leading to the next layer.

This was still something he discovered in the elder’s memory, and his descendant was trapped in there, waiting for him to save him.

Because so far, everything he saw was consistent with the information he got from soul searching, and coupled with the fact that he hadn’t found anything valuable, this great demon didn’t hesitate for long before activating the formation.

A portal emitting a hazy white light appeared before the great demon’s eyes. Behind the portal, one could see large dragons intertwined with each other, majestic and vast. Upon closer inspection, it was actually a mountain range.

Traces of Immortal Spirit Qi drifted from one side of the portal, silently testifying that behind the portal was an extraordinarily magnificent and vast Immortal Way land, possibly hiding a supreme inheritance leading straight to the Heavenly Immortal way.

“If one learns the Way in the morning, he may die in the evening without regret!”

The great demon’s intuition was warning him, alerting him that behind this portal was a crisis that could lead to his downfall. But the great demon chose to ignore it.

Because he knew that there was no small danger hidden behind this portal, but how could one defy fate and change destiny if the pursuit of cultivation was always smooth sailing?

He was unwilling to face the end of his lifespan with the body of a demon; he wanted to defy fate, he wanted to step into the way of the Earth Immortal, to spy on the realm of the Heavenly Immortal that could grant immortality.

Anticipation, fear, desire, and greed, all kinds of complex emotions surged in this Human Immortal’s heart, causing him to ignore the hidden warning, and resolutely stepped into the gateway.

“You have finally come in, ancestor. You really made me wait!”

The moment the great demon stepped into the portal, he heard a cheerful voice. Looking up, he saw a young man in white, bearing a long sword and a jade pendant at his waist. Despite his youthful appearance, his extraordinary bearing hinted at a promising future.

“Who are you?”

The great demon looked at the young man in front of him coldly. If they met in any other place, he wouldn’t mind being friendly. But here in this secret realm, encountering such a being suddenly, many thoughts emerged in his heart.

Was the once silent Immortal Sect going to rise from the ashes, with the heir using the secret realm to ambush him, a Human Immortal?

“Almost forgot, ancestor, you don’t recognize me now. Never mind, I’ll send you on your way!”

Feng Qing’an touched his chin somewhat apologetically, then casually waved his hand, accompanied by the roar of a prehistoric beast.

Thunder, fire, hurricane, venom, frost, death… in just an instant, up to nine exceedingly formidable Divine Powers appeared in the sky, greatly harmonized without any conflict. They formed a rush of Taoist energy, engulfing the unprepared great demon within.
