Chapter 18: Zuo Jing
Chapter 18
Everyone's attention was attracted by Daniel's voice, and they turned their heads to see him carrying a backpack and walking to the yard gate.
Behind him was a beautiful young woman in her early twenties, wearing a black strapped Prada dress and a shirt of the same brand. She was cute yet elegant like a porcelain doll.
This must be the guest the program crew had invited!
Qin Wei looked at her from afar, but couldn't recognize who she was for a moment.
The woman walked into the yard and greeted everyone warmly.
Qin Wei also waved at her perfunctorily, but she walked straight over.
"Weiwei, long time no see!"
She said as she took off her sunglasses, not hiding her surprise at all,
"My god, why are you wearing casual T-shirts and pants? Don't you dress up anymore?"
"Ah?"
Qin Wei was stunned. From her tone, this woman seemed very familiar with Qin Wei, and Qin Wei also felt she looked familiar from TV shows, but couldn't remember who she was for the moment.
But Qin Wei was still polite and perfunctorily responded:
"I'm going to work, so I wore something comfortable..."
The woman didn't follow up on that topic, but looked at Qin Wei with a smile:
"Weiwei, you're willing to talk to me again! Didn't you say you didn't know me?"
Qin Wei was confused, thinking she really didn't know her.
"Of course I know you."
After saying that, Qin Wei racked her brains,
"I've seen the TV shows you acted in, you played..."
"......"
"Xin Ya!"
Lin Qiqi suddenly shouted from the room, the woman turned her head when she heard someone calling her name, and saw Lin Qiqi.
"Sister Qiqi!"
Lin Qiqi opened her arms and ran over to hug her, complaining:
"So it was you who came, you should have come earlier, you don't know, I saw a puppy I liked, but didn't buy it. I don't even want to think about today, it was the most frustrating day of my life..."
It seemed they were very close, hugging each other as soon as they met, showing off their sisterhood in front of the camera.
The woman called "Xin Ya" glanced at Qin Wei, then said to Lin Qiqi:
"Forget about the dog, I'll buy lions and tigers for you. I won't let my sister suffer any grievance."
Qin Wei rolled her eyes. So she was the one who had grieved Lin Qiqi.
During cooking, the two of them didn't do anything. They sat in the yard chatting and reminiscing. When the food was ready, Xin Ya was in no hurry to eat either. She said she wanted to change her clothes first.
But she didn't come out for a long time.
Since she was a guest, they couldn't start eating without her, so everyone stared at the table until Xin Ya came out.
After working hard all day, everyone was already hungry, and could finish a bowl of rice in a few bites, let alone the aromatic dishes. But they couldn't pick up their chopsticks until the guest arrived. Everyone endured their hunger in front of the camera, and no one dared to get angry.
Time passed slowly, and after about half an hour, Xin Ya finally came out casually.
She had changed into a G-brand leisure suit and touched up her makeup. Xin Ya sat down among them, but showed no intention of picking up her chopsticks for a while.
The atmosphere became a little awkward. Sun Dan felt she should do something, so she raised the Coke bottle and said to everyone:
"Let's welcome our guest first! Let's toast with Coke instead of wine."
Everyone clinked their glasses and took a sip. Xin Ya seemed to be in a good mood. She took a small sip of Coke and laughed.
Since Lin Qiqi was most familiar with her, she casually asked:
"What's so funny about drinking Coke?"
Xin Ya replied:
"No, this scene reminds me of the past. Weiwei and I were in the same crew before. She could really drink a lot in private. Her temper would be even worse after drinking. No one dared to provoke her...
Oh my, it's been several years. Having dinner with Weiwei again brings back memories. It would be great if we were drinking wine now. You could see how powerful she is."
It sounded like she was joking, but she was actually revealing Qin Wei's private life in front of the camera. Anyone with some wit could tell, so no one found it funny.
But Xin Ya didn't notice the atmosphere was off, or she just didn't care. She continued to say to Qin Wei:
"Oh those are old stories from the past. I couldn't help but talk about it when it came to mind. Weiwei, you don't mind, do you?"
When Qin Wei heard this, she realized why the show crew had said that. So this Xin Ya really knew the original owner, and from the way she kept targeting her, they probably didn't get along very well in the past.
Before she could answer, Xin Ya said again:
"Didn't you just get into a car accident? Was it drunk driving? I thought you didn't drink much except at parties. Was it really drunk driving?"
Qin Wei replied curtly:
"Google it yourself."
Then she lifted the lid of the stew pot,
"Let's eat while it's hot, everyone."
The topic was already awkward to begin with, and everyone was worried Qin Wei would lose her temper. Fortunately, she changed the subject herself, so everyone hurriedly picked up their bowls and chopsticks and started eating.
The cameraman came over to shoot close-ups of them eating. Xin Ya had just picked up a shrimp with her chopsticks and put it in her mouth, but when the cameraman was filming others, she spit it back into her bowl.
Lin Qiqi and Shen Qingqing didn't think much of it and continued eating. Su Xiaoxiao was stunned for a few seconds but didn't say anything either, just lowered her head to eat from her own bowl. Only Qin Wei didn't understand what she was doing, and frowned at her for a while.
Xin Ya felt uncomfortable under her stare, and couldn't help asking:
"Weiwei, why are you staring at me? What's wrong?"
Qin Wei asked her:
"What's wrong? Don't you like the food I cooked?"
"You cooked it?"
Xin Ya didn't seem to believe it. After all, Qin Wei never did any housework with her ten fingers.
The others were also surprised, but after seeing so many unexpected things these past few days, they were not that shocked anymore.
Lin Qiqi glanced at Lin Qiqi. Lin Qiqi couldn't deny this and nodded.
Xin Ya laughed awkwardly in a low voice to explain:
"I tasted it when I put it in my mouth just now. The taste was fine. I didn't dislike it. It's just that this dish is too high in calories. I have a drama shoot coming up in a few days and the director told me I must control my weight."
