The Tycoon's Odyssey

Chapter 74: 74:Time To Return

Evan stood under the shade of a towering tree in the plantation, surrounded by a group of children who were eagerly sitting on makeshift benches made from old crates and logs.

The children listened to Evan's speech attentively, almost as if they had been hypnotized.

Despite being the boss of the plantation, Evan was down-to-earth, teaching the children with genuine enthusiasm and patience.

In fact, he pitied the children, knowing that there wasn't any good school nearby.

The nearest one was 16 km away, just like the tale of the parents' generation.

"Alright, kids, let's start with some basic mathematics today," Evan began, holding up a small chalkboard. "Who can tell me how many tea leaves we need to collect to fill up one basket?"

A shy boy tentatively raised his hand. "Um, fifty leaves, sir?"

Evan smiled warmly. "That's right! Now, if each basket holds five kilograms of tea leaves, then how many baskets can we fill if we collect two hundred leaves?"

The children furrowed their brows in concentration and began calculating in silence. After a moment, a girl confidently raised her hand. "Forty baskets, sir!"

"Excellent!" Evan praised, nodding approvingly. "Now, let's move on to a bit of science. Who can tell me why tea plants need sunlight to grow?"

A few hands shot up, and Evan pointed to a girl who sat in the front row. "Yes, Sarah?"

"Sunlight helps the tea plants make food through a process called photosynthesis," Sarah answered.

"Exactly!" Evan exclaimed, impressed. "And what about water? Why do plants like tea need water?"

"They need water to carry nutrients from the soil to their leaves and flowers," another boy chimed in.

"Very good!" Evan said, nodding. "You kids are really smart."

As the lesson continued, Evan explained the basics of physics, demonstrating how simple machines like pulleys and levers worked using examples from the plantation, which they could easily grasp. The children listened attentively, their faces brightening with understanding as they grasped the new concepts.

"AHEM!"

Amidst the teaching, Evan paused, hearing a gentle cough...

Looking at the side, he saw Ryan standing there, folding his hands.

Evan nodded and looked back at the children...

After finishing the lesson, Evan gathered the children in a circle. "Remember, learning is a journey that never ends. Keep asking questions and exploring the world around you. Then, that's it for today."

A young girl shyly tugged at Evan's sleeve. "Thank you for teaching us, sir. My dad says you're the best teacher ever."

Evan stroked her hair gently, his heart warmed by her words. "You're welcome. And remember, you can achieve anything you set your mind to."

"Study hard and become great.''

As the children dispersed, their laughter filling the air, Evan watched them leave with a sense of fulfilment in his heart.

Moreover, this experience also gave him teaching skills, and surprisingly, it increased his beginner leadership skills to 70.

After the kids left, Ryan approached Evan, who was still smiling at the dispersing children. Clearing his throat to get Evan's attention, Ryan said with a playful grin, "Hey, boss! Teaching the next generation how to run this place?"

Evan turned to Ryan, his smile widening. "You bet, Ryan. These kids are our future managers and scientists."

"You look good when teaching. Also, you seemed to love these kids so much– why don't you just become a teacher?"

Evan chuckled.

"What I want can't be achieved just by teaching."

He paused and gave a mysterious smile.

What he wanted was to redefine society technically, mentally, and spiritually.

It all just seemed like a feeble dream, but each day as he worked and grew, his goal was getting closer to real life.

Ryan chuckled. "Sounds like you've got it all figured out here. But, uh, I actually came over to relay some important info you needed."

Evan's brow furrowed slightly as he tried to recall.

"Did I forget something?"

Ryan raised an eyebrow teasingly. "You know, that woman Maria called and cursed me a lot asking me how long are you gonna stay here?"

Glancing at Ryan's expression, Evan could imagine Maria's face as if she was screaming at him.

[Just how long are gonna fucking stay there son of bitch.]

Evan scratched his head sheepishly. "I will leave in a few days, but anything important?"

Ryan nodded, "Miss Aria also called and asked to get in touch with you. She also asked why you aren't picking up the call?"

Evan snapped his fingers, suddenly remembering. "Thanks for reminding me, Ryan. I'll go check on that right away."

"Sure thing, boss," Ryan said with a grin. "Just don't get so caught up in being a teacher that you forget that you are now running two big firms."

Evan nodded, his demeanor shifting back to business mode. "Got it. Thanks, Ryan. I'll handle it."

As Ryan walked away, he couldn't help but smile. Evan's dedication to both his responsibilities as a boss and his compassion towards the children was something to admire. It were moments like these that reminded Ryan why he enjoyed working alongside Evan.

Unlike many others, he found that Evan was genuinely humane, though he wondered if Evan could stay like this as he had to stand against the waves one needs to face in business.

As for the future, only God knows.

...

Back in his office, Evan picked up his phone and called Aria. He decided to talk with Aria first, as for Maria.

Let's ignore her lest she foils the mood.

"Hello, Miss Aria what is it? Is there any problem with the app?"

"Now you remember that you own a software company, do you?"

Evan couldn't help but shiver slightly hearing Aria's words. She seemed to be pissed.

"Sorry, Miss, I wanted to make sure everything was set here, so I stayed a bit longer. I will leave quickly."

"Hmm! You need to get back here quickly!"

"I understand, but what's the situation?" Evan asked with a frown.

"There isn't any problem, so don't worry. Actually, it's a joyous occasion," Aria's tone softened a bit.

"Joyous?" Evan murmured skeptically.

"Do you know about the Eagle Play Awards?"

"Yeah!"

"Then congratulations, Evan. CodeZipper has won the award and we have been invited to the United States of Liberty."

Evan's mind became blank for a moment and he let out a bewildered scream.

"What the hell?"
