The Tycoon's Odyssey

Chapter 160: 160:Dancing Alongside One Another

Noticing Noah approaching Evan, followed by Suri, the crowd paused for a moment, casting curious glances at the young man for a brief moment.

Most of the attendees were people who were busy taking care of their own business and rarely spent time scrolling through reels and social media unless necessary, so many didn't recognize him.

Daniel, who still stood there in shock, was torn between ruining Evan's moment or staying to watch.

"Who is this guy? He has a pretty face. Is he someone from a prominent family that keeps out of the limelight?" someone nearby asked.

Hearing this, Daniel glanced at the man and said, "Sir, haven't you heard about NexGen Tech..."

"Next-Gen Tech…" The man took a moment to think and then exclaimed, "Oh yeah, I remember now! They are partnering with Hololens to create VR. How can I forget that since my son is hell-bent on getting one, alas it's still not easy to find."

"Yeah, same scenarios as me. My daughter even threatened that she won't talk to me unless I bought her one, but what could I do? They aren't on sale officially yet."

The first man then paused and gave Evan a strange look before looking at Daniel, "So, you're saying that this guy works there? Is he in a high position at NexGen Tech?"

Daniel's lips twitched and with a sigh, he spoke slowly, "He owns it…"

"What?"

The crows erupted in shock, but Daniel decided to stay and watch the show. Judging Noah's interaction, he was sure that today's events were gonna be fun.

As Suri and Evan became the center of attention, the atmosphere in the hall shifted dramatically.

Some guests among the crowd, aware of Suri's prestigious background, eagerly moved towards them. Whispers about her noble lineage spread among the guests, adding a layer of awe and reverence to her already commanding presence.

Sonalia, feeling overshadowed by Suri's sudden prominence, tried to mask her frustration and shot a scornful glance at Suri but was interrupted by Noah, who placed a calming hand on her shoulder.

"Don't worry," he murmured. "We'll bring the attention back to us soon enough."

Noah and Sonalia, the hosts of the evening, gracefully took center stage to recapture the guests' attention. They stepped into the spotlight with practiced ease.

As the melodious strains of music began to fill the air, the room fell into a hush of anticipation.

Standing close together, Noah and Sonalia had their eyes locked in a moment of mutual understanding.

With a graceful motion, Noah took her hand and led her to the dance floor. The music swelled, its romantic tones setting the mood for the evening. As they began to dance, Noah looked deeply into Sonalia's eyes pulled out a ring and then addressed the audience with a heartfelt speech

"Ladies and gentlemen, tonight is a celebration of love and unity. As I place this ring on Sonalia's finger, I want to express how much she means to me. Sonalia, you are not only my partner in life but also my best friend. This ring symbolizes my commitment to you, and my promise to cherish and support you always. You bring joy and grace into my life, and I am honored to share this moment with you."

As the final notes of the song lingered in the air, the guests erupted in praise for Noah and Sonalia's dance. Their elegant performance had captured the room's admiration, and the applause echoed through the hall.

Satisfied, Noah stepped back with a smile. "Now that we've set the mood, let's invite everyone to join us on the dance floor," he announced and with Sonalia by his side, gestured toward the crowd, encouraging them to join dancing with them.

Meanwhile, as Noah did this, he glanced at a certain someone and gave a nod, his eyes flickering back to Evan with a mysterious glint before he disappeared.

Under the collective gaze of the guests, Suri turned to Evan with a playful glint in her eye. "Can you dance?" she asked, her tone teasing as it carried a hint of challenge.

Evan hadn't practiced personally; rather, it was a memory he had obtained from VR, something that Aurora had begged him to acquire.

Once he got the knowledge he just needed to twerk his body a bit and Evan was now ready to go.

Evan looked at Suri's anticipating gaze and smiled faintly…

"I can," Evan replied simply.

A blissful smile spread across Suri's lips. Without further hesitation, she took his hand and led him to the center of the dance floor.

As they joined the others, the song "I Wanna Be Yours" by Arctic Monkeys began to play, its romantic lyrics filling the air:

"I wanna be your vacuum cleaner

Breathing in your dust

I wanna be your Ford Cortina

I will never rust…"

"Are you afraid of being in the spotlight tomorrow? Will it trouble you?" Suri asked, her gaze steady as she rested her head against his shoulder.

Her eyes were filled with warmth yet inquisitive.

"If you like your coffee hot

Let me be your coffee pot…"

"It didn't matter," Evan replied, his tone calm and reassuring as he held her close, guiding their steps with confidence.

"You call the shots, babe

I just wanna be yours…"

"How do I look?" Suri asked, twirling gracefully, waiting for his response while her eyes sparkled with curiosity.

"Secrets I have held in my heart

Are harder to hide than I thought…"

"As beautiful as a goddess," Evan said, his voice full of admiration, a gentle smile on his lips as he carefully rested his hand on her back.

His heart, which had always been normal and indifferent, now raced wildly. It wouldn't be a lie to say that he wasn't nervous.

Sometimes he wondered why it felt easier to fight someone but felt anxious when it came to this. Maybe it was because he was a complete novice at the matter of the heart.

"Maybe I just wanna be yours

I wanna be yours, I wanna be…"

"Not an angel?" Suri teased, raising an eyebrow playfully as she leaned in closer, her breath warm against his ear.

"Let me be your leccy meter

And I'll never run out

Let me be the portable heater

That you'll get cold without…"

"Do you want me to answer that?" Evan asked, his tone playful as he pulled her closer, their movements perfectly in sync with the music.

"I wanna be your setting lotion (wanna be)

Hold your hair in deep devotion (How deep?)

At least as deep as the Pacific Ocean

Now I wanna be yours…"

"Can't you?" Suri replied, a hint of mischief in her tone as she looked at him, a knowing smile playing on her lips.

"Secrets I have held in my heart

Are harder to hide than I thought

Maybe I just wanna be yours

I wanna be yours, I wanna be yours…"

"I can't, because no words can do you justice," Evan said, his voice earnest and filled with affection as they continued to dance, lost in their own world.

"Wanna be yours

Wanna be yours

Wanna be yours

Wanna be yours

Wanna be yours

Wanna be yours!"

"WOOWW!"

Cheers erupted from everyone's lips as they watched Evan and Suri dance in perfect harmony.

As Suri danced with Evan to tone in a perfect symphony, her heart fluttered and raced in a way she had rarely felt before. A deep blush spread across her cheeks, and she felt her face heat up with an emotion she seldom allowed herself to feel.

It all began with her feeling guilty for Evan. As someone who had experienced a rough childhood herself, she felt immense guilt and sorrow when she learned of Evan's background, something that she had ignored.

She wanted to make up with him and help him but in the process of observing him, she couldn't help but be charmed.

The more she observed him, the more she started to admire him.

And now, for the first time, she saw Evan not just as a good friend but as someone who had stirred something profound within her.

Her eyes, usually so guarded, now reflected a genuine vulnerability and joy she had hidden since childhood.

The dance was more than just a moment of shared rhythm; it was a revelation of her true feelings, and she couldn't help but smile as she felt a new depth to her connection with Evan.

Meanwhile, though Evan appeared calm on the surface, his heart seemed to be ready to burst out. The reason he had been giving short answers wasn't because he was acting cool, rather he simply felt nervous.

After all, in all his years, this was the first time he had been so close to a woman and that too with a celebrity like her…

'No, she isn't just a celebrity, she is a queen.'
