The Tycoon's Odyssey

Chapter 144: 144:On Hunt

"Delivery for this address," Evan stated, his tone steady.

The voice on the other side, tinged with suspicion, responded, "What delivery? I didn't order anything. Wrong address."

Evan's eyes narrowed slightly. "No. This is definitely the right address. 1523 Raghunath Street, correct?"

"Yes."

"Then it's the right address."

The voice on the other end grew irate. "What do you mean it's the right address? I didn't order anything, damn it!"

Evan's expression remained impassive, waiting for the door to open. His plan was simple: get inside without making a commotion. He needed to gain entry to confront whoever was inside.

The door finally creaked open, and before the man could react further, Evan's fist connected with his chest.

BANG!

The soles of his hard shoes perfectly slammed against the man's face, knocking him out cold.

"Perfect," Evan muttered as he stepped over the unconscious man and entered the hub.

Inside, his eyes quickly adjusted to the dim light.

He knew that this was only the beginning; there would be more inside.

Evan moved through the entrance, his steps were careful but determined. As he reached the door, a burly man stepped forward, blocking his way.

"Hey, you're not allowed here," the man said, his tone unfriendly. Nearby, a few goons laughed, clearly thinking it was a joke.

Evan didn't respond. Instead, he pulled out a gun from his waist and fired five quick shots.

The loud bangs echoed through the alley as five of the goons fell to the ground, with two of them caught while trying to draw their own guns.

The rest of the thugs stood frozen, their confidence shattered.

Evan didn't fear a return fire; he was protected from head to toe, yeah except his head.

Now that he briefly considered that he should have created some protective mask or a helmet.

Evan quickly entered the building, slipping through the door with the ease of someone who was accustomed to action. Inside, the room erupted with noise and chaos as he started fighting the remaining goons.

"Who's this guy?" one of them shouted, clearly surprised.

Evan didn't answer while the others were oblivious. He ducked under a wild swing from one and stepped aside. With a quick right hook, he sent the man stumbling back.

Another goon tried to attack him, but Evan sidestepped and delivered a solid jab to the ribs, leaving the attacker gasping for breath.

"Get him!" someone yelled, their voice barely audible over the chaos.

Despite Evan's skill, the fight was brutal. A punch landed square on the cheek, snapping his head back, and another blow landed hard against his ribs. He flinched slightly but didn't show much pain. Instead, his eyes grew colder, and he fought back with even greater intensity.

"You think that hurts?" Evan said in an icy tone. The goons, unnerved by his unshaken demeanour, grew even more anxious.

One thug swung a punch at him, hitting Evan on the side. Evan's eyes flashed briefly with a cold anger, but his face stayed calm. He didn't let the pain stop him; instead, he got even more aggressive.

Evan ducked under another incoming punch and responded with a powerful elbow to the attacker's face, sending him to the ground. Another goon tried to punch him, but Evan kicked him hard, leaving him writhing in pain.

The goons screamed and cried as they tried to fight or run away, but Evan continued his attack with focused precision, taking down each opponent one by one.

"I can't believe this!" one goon yelled, his voice filled with panic.

Evan didn't need to respond. He moved through the room and with his eyes cold and focused, his mind ran wildly, keeping track of every detail and looking around in case of a potential sneak attack.

Despite the struggle and the few hits he took, Evan remained determined. As the last of the goons fled, Evan stood among the lying bloodied men and took a deep breath before looking up at one who was trying to run away.

The man entered the house on the left and Evan followed.

Inside, Evan's eyes tracked the fleeing man as he dashed up the building's stairwell. Determined not to let him escape, Evan sprinted after him, the sound of his footsteps echoing off the concrete flooring.

The man glanced back in fear and quickened his pace as he reached the upper floors and screamed.

"Intruder…"

"Intruder…"

Just as Evan was closing in, more men emerged from nearby rooms, alerted by the commotion. They stepped ahead, wanting to intercept him.

Initially, they were too shocked to react, struggling to understand what the hell was happening.

Most were drunk, their bodies slow to respond. Evan knew about these drunkards which was why he was fearless.

"Stop right there!" one of the men shouted, raising a pipe threateningly but seeing the guy not backing down, he swung it at Evan's face.

Evan didn't slow down at the incoming attack either, he simply dodged the first swing of the pipe, grabbed it mid-swing and twisted it from the man's grasp. Using the momentum, he delivered a powerful kick to the attacker's midsection, sending him crashing into a nearby wall.

Another thug lunged at him with a crowbar, forcing Evan to duck under the swing and use the crowbar to block a punch aimed at his face.

Evan then yanked the crowbar from the thug's hands and tossed it aside before delivering a swift uppercut that sent the man sprawling on the floor.

In the tight quarters of the building, Evan took advantage of his surroundings as he grabbed a wooden chair from a nearby room and swung it at a charging goon. The chair shattered against the man, sending splinters flying and knocking him out of the fight.

"You want me to stop then…?"

"Think you can take me on?" Evan's voice was cold as he faced the remaining attackers. The leftover thugs hesitated a bit, overwhelmed by the man before them.

Just then a few even whispered in panic, asking where the guns were, suggesting they just shoot him.

At that moment, a man screamed, "Fuck! Did you forget that the boss took all the guns because we fired shots after being drunk?"

The instant he said this, everyone glared at him with venomous intent, as if wanting to kill that guy.

"Great! Just scream and let him know that we don't have guns, you fucker…"

With no other option left at their bay, they could now only use their fist to attack Evan.
