Chapter 15
Chapter 15
Listening to the deafening cries that pierced his ears and the weight pressing on him, Ji Fantian made a ruthless move, pinching Lin Zaozao's neck.
Immediately, Lin Zaozao, who was crying vigorously, collapsed in Ji Fantian's arms and he unceremoniously threw her to the ground. As she made contact with the floor, a dull thud resonated.
Rubbing his nearly deafened ears, Ji Fantian lifted the unconscious Lin Zaozao with one hand and walked straight into her room.
Arriving at her room, which had only one remaining door panel, Ji Fantian casually tossed Lin Zaozao onto the bed and prepared to leave.
However, before he could turn around, a cracking sound of a broken door panel interrupted his steps.
Without needing to think, he knew that the overweight woman had definitely crushed the bed again.
Rubbing his forehead with a slight headache, Ji Fantian could only shout outside, "Ruo Qiu, Ye Yi, come over and help!"
As Ruo Qiu and Ye Yi arrived, they saw Lin Zaozao sandwiched between the broken door panel in the middle.
Due to her excessively obese figure, Lin Zaozao looked more like a folded up ball of flesh.
Ruo Qiu and Ye Yi looked at each other after seeing the remaining door panel and proceeded to lift her up and dismantle the door panel, then reassembled the bed and placed Lin Zaozao on it.
Once everything was arranged, Ruo Qiu patted Ji Fantian's shoulder and whispered, "Should I install two new door panels for her? Even though she's ugly, she's still a woman. Without a door, I'm afraid she won't be safe."
"No need. As long as we're here, unless she seeks death herself, no one can harm her in front of us. Besides, with her appearance and figure, no one would want her even if she were given away for free."
After speaking, Ji Fantian continued walking outside without a care.
"What if there are flower thieves?" Ruo Qiu suddenly asked, causing Ji Fantian to stumble and almost fall to the ground.
Ji Fantian turned back with a somewhat speechless expression, glanced in the direction where Lin Zaozao was, and continued walking outside with an empty gaze.
If the flower thief's eyes weren't blind, they wouldn't choose Lin Zaozao, that little chubby woman, to be their target!
Looking at the direction Ji Fantian left, Ruo Qiu and Ye Yi turned back to see Lin Zaozao lying stiffly on the bed made of door panels. They looked at her round, pale belly exposed by the lifted clothes, which resembled a freshly steamed white bun.
Apart from the black spot on her face, Lin Zaozao's skin was actually quite fair in other places. So that black spot on her face made her appearance even more horrifying.
After nodding slightly at Ye Yi, Ruo Qiu couldn't stand the sight of Lin Zaozao's exposed chubby belly. He walked forward, grabbed Lin Zaozao's wrist, carefully felt her pulse, and then pulled the thin blanket on the bed to cover her.
Turning back, Ruo Qiu looked at Ye Yi, who was silent at the doorway, and saw the disappointment in his eyes. He could only shake his head helplessly.
"She hasn't changed, probably just suddenly awakened," Ruo Qiu whispered.
Upon hearing Ruo Qiu's words, Ye Yi turned to look at Lin Zaozao and the large black bruise on her face.
In that moment, a mysterious look filled his eyes.
If this foolish woman hadn't been replaced by someone else, then she had been pretending to be crazy all her life.
But why did she suddenly stop pretending after they got married?
Could it be that she knew their identities? But if she knew who they were, how could she have the audacity to approach Gu Shan today?
You see, even an ordinary man couldn't withstand the murderous aura emanating from Gu Shan. Yet this foolish woman, Lin Zaozao, could casually go out fishing with him as if nothing happened.
Could it be that her true identity is a spy planted among them?
But spies are either ordinary-looking or stunningly beautiful. How could that person place such an ugly and conspicuous spy beside them?
Unable to comprehend, but with time on their side, they would eventually uncover the true identity of this foolish wife.
Ye Yi gestured to Ruo Qiu and left without a word.
Ruo Qiu watched Ye Yi's departing figure and then turned to look at Lin Zaozao, who was snoring in her sleep.
In truth, he didn't believe that this overly enthusiastic and unattractive woman could be a spy.
However, they were already deeply entangled in a dangerous situation, and one misstep could lead them to irreversible disaster. That's why they had to keep a close eye on this foolish woman. They couldn't afford to sink into the quagmire at the most critical moment.
With his mind made up, Ruo Qiu returned to his room and hung a tattered straw curtain with several large holes at Lin Zaozao's door. It may be worn-out, but it was better than nothing.
Although this woman was incredibly unappealing, she was still a woman, and it was wise to exercise some caution.
Because earlier, when he saw her dressing herself while completely naked, it was truly an eyesore.
By the time Lin Zaozao woke up again, it was already evening. She rubbed her head, sat up, and found herself surrounded by darkness in the room.
Wasn't she just sitting in the arms of that fake immortal Ji Fantian, feeling sickened by him? How did she end up lying on her own bed now? And not only that, she hadn't even had her shoes taken off.
Feeling the bed frame in frustration, Lin Zaozao pouted and slowly moved from the bed to the floor in the pitch-black room.
It was only when she reached the door that she noticed the one and only door had been replaced by a tattered straw curtain with a hole in it.
So, where did her original door go? Lin Zaozao scanned the dark room but couldn't see anything.
She touched her growling stomach and thought about how she must be somehow connected to that scoundrel Ji Fantian since she was now sleeping in this room. She had already endured three doses of pain today, which should be enough. But she wasn't entirely pleased with the way things had unfolded with Murong Hai and the others. If they didn't interact with her tomorrow, she wouldn't be able to trade her suffering for bone marrow and beauty serum.
Perhaps she should look for someone else? After all, there were plenty of sick people in this world!
Just as Lin Zaozao was pondering in her heart, the voice of the system suddenly appeared in her mind.
[Host, urgent situation. There are hidden toxins in the body of your fourth husband, Ruo Qiu. He is currently tormented by excruciating pain and needs you to transfer his suffering in a timely manner. If the host refuses, the system has the authority to impose humane punishment on the host.]
[Humane punishment? What do you mean by that?]
[Humane punishment means that if the host does not accept the temporary task arranged by the system, the system has the right to make the host endure some hardship. And this time, the punishment from the system is not only confiscating the marrow-cleansing liquid and beauty serum acquired during the day, but also making the host gain ten pounds.]
[Oh my! System, are you not being reasonable? This is like a tyrant clause, forcing me to sign an unequal treaty! I'm already as round as a ball now, and you want me to gain ten more pounds!]
[This system is absolutely fair and just. If the host can complete the system's task later, as a reward, the system can make you lose five pounds.]
[Why is it five pounds, not ten pounds?]
[The host is just a working person and has no right to question the system's decision. If the host is unwilling to accept the temporary task, then the system will impose humane punishment on you right now.]
[Stop, stop, stop! I accept it. I admit my mistake, I accept it!]
[Really? Host, are you accepting the task?]
[Yes, I accept it.]
[Then this system wishes you a successful mission.]
The system's cold and gloating voice resounded clearly in Lin Zaozao's mind.
Hearing the unmistakably malicious tone of the system made Lin Zaozao's heart involuntarily filled with unease.
Could it be? Did the system arrange some kind of bug for him in this mission? Otherwise, why does she sense a hint of ill intention in the system's voice?
