The Sword Deity in Tokyo

Chapter 293: How Pathetic

Chapter 293: How Pathetic

“As for the curse on Sakagami Village, that was my doing.” Otome Sakagami remained cold. The ancestors of Sakagami Village treated her wrongly. If she were to not take her revenge on them, then she would neither be a human... nor a Tsukumogami.

She could have lived a free life in this world and do whatever she wanted. She never thought that she would encounter such problems. Aside from being forced to sign the contract, she was also studied by others. She then managed to exhaust Sakanoue no Tamuramaro to death, yet he became a spectre and continued studying her with the Onmyojis. However, she made it to the point where she distorted his thoughts, and just as he was transforming into a demon, the man still had the desire to deviate into a shikigami to continue studying her.

But this time around, he had failed.

However, back then, she really hoped that Sakanoue no Tamuramaro would succeed because becoming a shikigami was also considered as achieving immortality. If he did, then there was a chance that Sakanoue no Tamuramaro might release her. After spending so many years with him, Otome Sakagami had very complicated feelings toward the Shōgun. Even though she despised him for going back on his promise, she admired and respected him for the perseverance and consistency he had in his research.

That explains it. Kimura Kazuki nodded. He never would have thought that the truth to the whole incident would be as such.

After giving it a thought, Otome Sakagami figured that she had no reason to lie to him. The look on Sakanoue no Tamuramaro’s face was filled with ruthlessness as he stood before her. It seemed as though when he became a shikigami, something had gone wrong, and he lost his sanity in the process. Currently, his eyes looked lost, which meant that he was already under Otome Sakagami’s control.

Even though Otome Sakagami had been suppressed by the Jade of Four Souls all this while, she did not sit back and do nothing.

“If you surrender now, I can spare your life.” As he thought about it, Kimura Kazuki looked at Otome Sakagami coldly. He skipped the unnecessary chatter. Any complicated matter could be simplified if it was in his hands. Unless of course if his opponent was stronger than him, then he would try and reason with his opponent, maybe even try making conversation with them.

After hearing what he said, Otome Sakagami was stunned. She should be the one saying those words to Kimura Kazuki, but she did not expect him to beat her to it. She could not help but chuckle, but a few chuckles later, her expression turned fierce all of a sudden and she exclaimed with a clear voice. “What are you doing?!”

At this moment, Lotus appeared out of the shadows with a dagger in hand. The moment Lotus came into the light, part of the ground that was covered in streaming blood was destroyed.

The blood on the ground was part of the Human Body Tactical Formation. As long as the blood flowed, it would eventually assemble the separated parts into a whole, forming a complete body, then the Human Body Tactical Formation would be considered successful.

Otome Sakagami originally knew nothing about formations, but she was not a fool. The amount of knowledge she accumulated over 1,000 years was terrifying.

When she saw that Lotus had destroyed the formation, Otome Sakagami coldly grunted. In the next second, the flowing blood around her transformed into bloody arrows and they were fired at the direction of Lotus.

The blood merged all of a sudden, on top of that, they were part of the formation. Logically, the blood that was going to complete the formation should not simply be disturbed.

Otome Sakagami’s face turned a shade darker when she saw that Lotus had destroyed a part of the formation, but in a blink of an eye, she manoeuvred the blood and charged back.

Is she not afraid of her formation being destroyed? Lotus was stunned momentarily as several bloody arrows pierced through his flesh. He grunted heavily and swiftly disappeared into thin air.

In the next moment, the bloody arrows returned to their original form as they fell back down to the ground, merging into a flowing river once more.

Otome Sakagami grumbled, “Here I am trying to start a conversation but you people attacked me instead.” Blood started to gush out from the wound on Otome Sakagami’s body, which was slashed open by Kimura Kazuki. The blood dripped down to the floor and made its way toward the part that Lotus had destroyed, restoring it to its original form.

Otome Sakagami chuckled when she saw Kimura Kazuki’s furrowed brows. “Kimura-kun, you can never kill me, so why not just give in? I promise you, if you submit now, I can spare your life. I originally planned to suck your energy dry to nourish myself, but looking at it now, if you back down, I can make you my subordinate.”

As for what she would be doing after this, Otome Sakagami did not have any solid plans. After being sealed away for such a long time, the only thing she had always wanted was to wipe out Sakagami Village. And now, she was actually doing it. She planned to draw blood from the villagers of Sakagami Village, then use the essence in the blood to create her formation and replenish herself. The reason why it was so complicated was that she had placed a curse on the villagers of Sakagami Village. Now the excessive materials in their blood was reaching its limit, and it must be removed immediately.

In fact, the formation was indeed a curse removal ritual but the cost was not as simple as mere bleeding, it must be the lives of Sakagami Village’s villagers.

Kimura Kazuki glanced at her. Since Otome Sakagami had spoken, there was no ground for negotiation anymore. He slowly said, “Tell me, how much more reiki do you have to support your resurrection? And even if I can’t kill you, I can still seal you, like what Unto Shrine did in the past.”

When she heard the word “seal”, Otome Sakagami’s face turned sour. She had been sealed for more than 1,000 years and after hearing what Kimura Kazuki wanted to do to her, hatred came flowing into her eyes.

Sakatami Otome did not respond, instead there was movement coming from Sakanoue no Tamuramaro who was laying on the ground.

The three-storey tall figure moved, shaking the ground with it.

But even in his giant form, Sakanoue no Tamuramaro was very nimble. He shifted the spear in his hand slightly and lifted it up until the tip was pointing toward Kimura Kazuki.

From the beginning until now, Sakanoue no Tamuramaro did not really move at all, and there was no need for it either. He was seven to eight meters tall and the spear in his hand was about 20 meters long. He could have swept everything away just by standing there without the slightest movement.

As he stared at the giant spear pointed at himself, Kimura Kazuki could not help but raise a brow. He had no reason to take him head-on, as he knew Sakanoue no Tamuramaro was very powerful just by one glance at his figure. If he were to dodge, the spear would follow him like his shadow. Next to him, Shigeru Sei’s eyes twitched when he saw the spear as well. If the spear hit him, Kimura Kazuki’s 1.8 meter tall body would collapse in a flash.

Though Kimura Kazuki was already at the Sixth Foundation State, both his physical strength and Spiritual Fire’s intensity were far more powerful than before.

He did not take the spear head-on. Instead, he went around and pounced on it. He lifted his head and looked up at Sakanoue no Tamuramaro, shouting calmly, “Harunaka!”

Harunaka instinctively responded. She immediately knew what her senpai was trying to tell her, as she tossed her tachi sword toward him. She was a lot stronger now and her vision was better. She was very precise with the direction she tossed the sword.

Kimura Kazuki caught the tachi sword and turned it into a ray of light and charged toward Sakanoue no Tamuramaro’s head.

The Sun and Moon Sword was still in the process of killing Otome Sakagami and at the same time, stopping her from resurrecting, thus it could not be drawn at the moment.

However, for Kimura Kazuki who could divide his attention, it was as easy as drinking water.

At the next moment, a sharp clunk sounded. The tachi sword in Kimura Kazuki’s hand came in contact with Sakanoue no Tamuramaro’s neck, but the blade started to break inch by inch.

Watching the scene, Otome Sakagami was slightly relieved, her face which was pinned to the ground revealed a wide grin. “It’s useless! Sakanoue’s body is indestructible! He might be huge but he is also nimble. So no matter how powerful you are, without a powerful weapon, there’s no way that you can break his defense!”

After hearing her words, Kimura Kazuki smiled. He extended his arm and the Sun and Moon Sword appeared in his hand instantly. In the next moment, before Sakanoue no Tamuramaro could react, he swung the sword lightly, drawing a bright glare in the air.

Thud...

His giant head fell on the ground, whipping up clouds of dust.

In just a quick flash, Sakanoue no Tamuramaro was dead.

How pathetic...
