Chapter 38 Brute Strength
At first, Aion didn't go to the dungeon. Instead of that, he watched armed groups leaving the city and if they were headed in that direction. Fortunately, they only would leave once every three days. It was hard to say if they were trying to let the enemies multiply enough for them to be a challenge. Regardless, the groups were mostly made of veteran Adventurers, and they returned at noon with carts filled with pelts, claws, and meat.
"They could return to the dungeon in the afternoon, but I guess that would be too much hassle for adventurers," Aion thought. "At any moment, they might be forced to deploy to some serious battle, so they want to use their peaceful times to relax as much as possible."
Aion saw many adventurers over the years doing escort jobs, and those were supposed to last for weeks, so they weren't all lazy bums. Regardless, after Aion got their schedules of the dungeon, he used Furtivity to hide below a wagon that crossed the city gates, and then he left it after he was far away enough to hide behind some hills or the tall grass. Time was of the essence, so Aion ran toward the dungeon.
When he reached the entrance of the dungeon, Aion confirmed that he would have a hard time passing by the two guards, it wasn't impossible, but they were well-trained. First of all, he moved to the side of the dungeon and kept looking at them. Once he memorized their breathing pace, Aion began to move while using Furtivity. When they exhaled, Aion took a step forward, only one at a time. He got that trick over the last year, and he mastered it to the point that even veteran soldiers could lose sight of him.
In the end, Aion couldn't help but frown when he entered the dungeon… the plan had worked a bit too well… in any case, he could remember the path ahead due to the last time he had been there, so he advanced through the darkness until he heard some grunts.
"This might be a good training… shall I train to fight without relying on my eyesight?" Aion rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
Trying that all of a sudden probably wasn't a good idea, so Aion uses the technique that his mother taught him to create a Fireball above his head and illuminate the area. After that, he heard another grunt and the sound of steps. Aion summoned his hand axes.

When the Berserker class reached level twenty, Aion knew that he should use that in the tournament. The bonus in strength that two skills would add to his power would make him fight at an equal level against enemies that were much bigger than him. Moreover, he would be a lot tougher to knock down as well. In the end, Aion decided to follow the philosophy that the best defense is a roundhouse kick on the neck of the enemy.
The first enemy eventually showed up while charging like a truck, and Aion blocked its claws by using his hand axes. He frowned when he realized that the big face of the creature was more intimidating than the power of its attacks. Aion didn't move an inch during the impact, but he flinched when the open mouth of the monster approached his hands.
The monster didn't look like it was planning to do anything else, so Aion kicked its stomach, and that made the creature stagger. He used that chance to step back and put his back on the attack when he swung both axes at the chest of the enemy… it was annoying to be so short…
The green bear grunted in pain and then swung both arms to crush Aion's head. He just blocked them with each ax since that was good strength training. It was good to know that his strength was high enough for that. Regardless, Aion pushed away the arms before jumping and then attacking the head of the monster. The weapons easily crushed the monster's skull.

"Hmm… it is a lot less than before, probably because of the level of the class," Aion thought. "No coins either… did the system give me the money that those two had?"
In any case, Aion touched the corpse with his weapons, and he began to process it. Apparently, he could process ten bodies at a time, but the first one was finished in a single minute. From that, he found his inventory of five chunks of meat, a large piece of pelts, the claws, and several bones… the ax could absorb only the bones. While the bow could absorb the numbing claws, but the meat and the pelt couldn't be absorbed by anything.
"I guess I will sell those… More money for me," Aion thought and then moved forward.
Aion knew that was one of the weakest dungeons, but he wasn't sure if he was strong enough to deal with the monsters. He was glad to discover that his hard training paid off, and he could see a chance of himself winning the tournament.
In any case, the second monster approached and then tried to grab Aion's arms. When the axes got in the way, he tried to bite Aion's head. In the end, Aion headbutted the chin of the creature and made it lose balance. That hurt Aion's head as well, so he wasted some time recovering. In the end, Aion threw the right-hand axe at the hand of the creature, and he somehow managed to make the Blade pierce the skull of the creature.

"Oh… This is pretty cool," Aion thought when the weapon returned to his hand. "I can't use this too often or in front of others, but it certainly will come in handy…"
