Book 10: Chapter 18
Book 10: Chapter 18
Philias predictions were right on the mark.
The moment Philia began thinking about that person, Fainell, carrying a single truth in her hands, arrived at Luutys house in the Jiol Forest Kingdom.
Theres big trouble, Luuty!
Youre the one causing trouble, directly transferring into my own house. How many times do I have to tell you to come in from the entrance?
After being glared at Luuty while she looked at the door to Luutys room that she violently threw open, Fainell made a blank face.
What do you mean? That kind of thing is unnecessary.
Whatever, I dont care anymore. So, whats the trouble?
Luuty simply gave up on the matter as she set her book onto her desk while Fainell drew close and screamed out Oh, thats right! Theres big trouble!
Hes actually Ryuuya.
Huh?
That Sancreed guy was originally Ryuuya.
Luuty carefully thought about what those words of her meant
What?!
Luuty jumped out of her chair shouting and grabbed Fainell by the chest.
What do you mean?! How many decades do you think its been since Ryuuya passed away?! In fact, thats not even the biggest contradiction here! Their faces, their stature, their voices, and their personalities are all completely different!
But thats what the Demon God said! She said Ryuuya died and became Sancreed!
Died and wait what? Hold on here. I feel like were on completely different tracks here. And considering how youre like and all, Im going to need you to start from the very beginning.
Fainell wasnt really the type of person to use her head very well in fact, her brains probably almost completely muscle.
Fainell herself was a bit self conscious about this, which is why Luuty asked her to explain the situation without directly addressing that.
When you say Demon God, youre talking about the real thing, right? What did she say to you?
Thats right, it all started not too long ago.
Since Vermudol practically became a stone statue after he started to think about what to do from here on out, the Demon God began looking for a new plaything.
Once she came across Fainell who was stuffing cookies into her face, thats when all the ruckus started.
She said to me, Dont you want to find out about what happened to Hero Ryuuya?, you see.
After defeating the Demon King Gramfia, the Hero Ryuuya set out on another adventure alongside another one of his companions, the tiger beastman Juno.
They were heading for another continent that the beastman Juno originated from.
They set out on that brand new adventure and died as a result.
After becoming a Life Seed, a Life Seed that no longer fit the plans of this world, that is, the Demon God managed to get her hands on it before Philia did.
After thinking about where the most interesting place to use it would be, she decided to use it when Vermudol attempted to create a Hero.
The Demon God felt it was the perfect opportunity as she was surprised that he would even think of such a thing.
And then um since he became a Life Seed, he has no memories of his time as Ryuuya, and it could even be said hes not even the same person anymore, apparently. She said that if you were to really claim that they were the same person, it would be like saying every single being in this world would be family or something
I see
Luuty didnt know much about Life Seeds or souls either, but she at least knew that the Life Seed was the source of a soul before it actually became a soul.
When a living being dies, the soul that surrounded them would disappear and they would turn back into a seed. Just like a fruit, it could be said that the Life Seed was like the fruit inside a seed and the flesh around the fruit seed was like the soul.
Typically speaking, Life Seeds would be managed by Philia and upon death, they would be guided by her and reborn into new life. However, even if the Life Seed may be the same, the souls resulting from them are not guaranteed to be the same as well.
There have been rumors that Life Seeds have a segment within them containing memories of their past selves, but there hasnt been any hard proof of that.
But if that was to be the case
So youre trying to say that hes Ryuuya himself, right? But theyre actually completely different people, its just that their source was the same.
Huh? But he was Ryuuya, right?
Well, yes, but For example, if you happened to be a big muscular man in your past life, you wouldnt exactly say youre the same person as him, right?
I see. I wouldve killed you if you said we were the same.
Luuty responded with an Is that right? as Fainell understood what she was trying to say so easily.
But thats basically how it is.
Even if someone were to die, their life will be reborn as a new one.
It sounds pretty hopeful, but thats all there really is to it. As long as they dont remember who they were in their past life, its not like they would once again find their destined beloved.
That was why it was meaningless whether or not Sancreeds Life Seed was Ryuuyas.
Why would the Demon God mention something like that? Well thats not really that hard to figure out.
She was just trying to be a pest, no doubt
What do you mean? Arent you totally interested in Ryuuya?
Luuty let out a sigh as Fainell tilted her head.
Fainell didnt understand. Thats why she was able to remain so carefree about all this.
There wasnt any need to make her understand but she felt uncomfortable knowing that she was the only one who realized this.
You know, Fainell
Hmm?
Luuty grabbed onto Fainells shoulders and stared at her face straight on.
Even if you know that theyre different people, are you confident that you wont relate Sancreed to Ryuuya in the future?
Hmm
Thats where the problem lied.
Fainell and Sancreed were fellow comrades and good friends, but now that she knew that he was that Ryuuya, it was unavoidable that she would start looking at him with rose-tinted glasses.
Fainell couldnt deny the possibility of a fist or foot or magic flying towards Sancreed if she happened to see him as that perverted womanizer hero that would confess to every beautiful girl he saw on the spot.
On the other hand, Luuty was in a similar position. It wasnt as if she particularly disliked Sancreed, but there was something about him that drew her towards him But now that she learned that his past life was Ryuuya, a total stop was put to those emotions.
As for why, it was because she didnt want to be having fairytale thoughts on how she might fall in love again with the reborn version of the man that she once loved but couldnt get together with.
She has no intention of becoming the kind of woman with those kinds of lingering regrets, and once she began thinking about that, she couldnt help but want to put distance between herself and Sancreed.
Even if there wasnt a single bad thing about Sancreed
That Demon God spouted that kind of stuff to Fainell for this very purpose.
Lets hurry up and forget about this. Thatd be for the best.
I thought you were the one trying to look out for me.
Whatever, lets just share our troubles. Were friends, arent we?
Its been a while since Ive seen that nasty side of your personality
Of course, the Demon God was watching this scene from far away with magic and having a good laugh over it.
