Chapter 608 - The Scum Is Inept
Everyone gathered outside for a meeting to discuss Fei Yinzi's condition. They left him to Wen Wen, who is the best in taking care of people. Wen Yan wanted to go back to the tent but held himself back in the end. He doesn't want the others to notice something is wrong.
But, Zhu Xi still did notice. "Worried for Wen Wen?" he whispered.
Wen Yan didn't answer.
"Why? Er Zi is the one who fell ill and not Wen Wen, so why are you acting like Er Zi is the one who is going to eat Wen Wen instead?" Zhu Xi asked in puzzlement.
… wouldn't it so, in the future? Wen Yan thought but bit his tongue to not retort these words. This is like a prophecy, but he isn't happy a bit, for it greatly involves his younger brother. Although he knows that nothing has happened in Fei Yinzi's and Wen Wen's tent since Fei Yinzi is sick, and it should have been Wen Wen's own initiative to feed Fei Yinzi medicine through that method since Fei Yinzi is ill, and it seems like that it was actually Wen Wen who, unintentionally, took advantage of the defenseless and weak Fei Yinzi, Wen Yan still can't feel at ease at all!
"Really, what's wrong with you?" Zhu Xi asked Wen Yan as he looked at him in bewilderment.
Wen Yan has been acting strange ever since they entered Fei Yinzi's and Wen Wen's tent.
Does Wen Yan know something? Zhu Xi thought and stared at Wen Yan who became absent-minded again. "Wen Yan." He called and patted the other's back, which made him be pulled out of his daze.
"… it's nothing." Wen Yan answered and forced a smile as they joined the others.
"Can't we do nothing about Er Zi's condition?" Ling Yun anxiously asked.
Tang Li shook his head. "Our sect doesn't teach on how to treat chaotic qi." He said and sighed.
Li Yan nodded in agreement. "If there is anyone who can help, it is elder Cheng." He said.
Qian Meng nodded in agreement. "Elder Cheng is also a doctor…" he said.
"En. He treats both the ordinary people and cultivators." He Shun agreed.
"But… if elder Cheng helps Er Zi… Er Zi would be disqualified." Qian Jue said.
They all fell in silence.
"Is there really no other way?" Chen Yu anxiously asked.
"Should we ask the other sects?" Chen Wu said as he tapped his arm with his finger.
Fei Yinzi is Cheng Sheng, his uncle's, disciple and he treats Fei Yinzi as one of his younger brothers. So, he just can't watch Fei Yinzi become like this.
"Sorry, everyone… I am useless!" Cui Xiang cried.
"It's not your fault!" Su Mi said and comforted her.
Of course, they know that although Cui Xiang, as well as her master You Rou, learned their medical skills from Cheng Sheng, her skills are limited, and she lacks experience. So, they didn't push her, even if she might know how to treat Fei Yinzi, since they don't dare to gamble on Fei Yinzi's life. Cui Xiang knows this the most, so she feels helpless.
"As much as we want to help, our sect is just small and our information is limited." Wu Tie spoke.
They turned and saw him and Jin Yu approaching them.
"I apologize." It was Sun Yan.
"Brother!" Sun Ri cried and ran towards him.
Sun Yan smiled and hugged her before he turned to Wu Lian, Chen Wu and the others.
"Our master said that once someone's qi became chaotic, he would likely go into qi deviation despite not having a heart demon." Sun Yan told them.
Everyone was stunned. "No way!" they exclaimed in horror.
"Er Zi…" Jing De heaved a deep sigh.
Their camp was covered in a gloomy atmosphere.
"Need help?" a voice spoke.
They all turned and was surprised. "Xiao Bao!" they exclaimed.
Xiao Bao jumped down the tree while xiao Ling didn't follow and just arrogantly sat on the branch while condescendingly looked at them below like a lord.
Everyone. "…" alright. Let's just treat xiao Ling as if he doesn't exist… they all silently agreed in tacit understanding.
"Xiao Bao…" Chen Wu called as he rose from his seat. "What exactly happened between you and Er Zi when you fought?" he asked.
Everyone all looked at xiao Bao who had a heroic air around him.
"It was an accident." Xiao Bao spoke.
"By Er Zi, or by you?" Qi Lan who rarely spoke, asked.
Everyone looked at him, stunned.
Xiao Bao grinned. Even though he has a face of a youth, his momentum is no lesser than of Qi Lan's, who is a young man. "By Er Zi, of course. Or else, I wouldn't be here right now talking to all of you." He answered and carelessly shrugged.
They all frowned. Although they know that xiao Bao isn't lying, they don't like his indifferent attitude.
"Since you came here, then you must have a way to treat Er Zi." Wu Lian spoke.
Xiao Bao frowned and he looked at Wu Lian. He is obviously displeased because Wu Lian interrupted him. But, Wu Lian's face remained calm.
"Of course, we know how." Xiao Ling finally spoke. He jumped down the tree and xiao Bao caught him even if xiao Ling doesn't need to.
Everyone. "…" damn it! Our eyes are about to go blind with you two sword spirits' PDA! They inwardly roared. If they just aren't worried about Fei Yinzi, they would have long ignored these two troublesome sword spirits!
"He has special eyes that can see one's qi and meridians, so why didn't you ask him?" Xiao Ling asked as he pointed Ling Yun.
Everyone was taken aback.
Ling Yun was shocked. "I also wanted to help Er Zi, but I don't know how!" he said. "Senior, please give me some advice!" he said and earnestly bowed.
The others, including the Shanliangde Sect, Wu Tie and Jin Yu, also followed. "Senior, please give us some advice!" they said and bowed.
Shanliangde Sect is friends with Fei Yinzi. Wu Tie and Jin Yu, although they aren't related with Fei Yinzi, they already heard that it was Fei Yinzi who told Chen Wu about the small game. So, Wu Tie owe Fei Yinzi this favor, albeit he knows that Fei Yinzi doesn't want it since that is just how the Xinfaxian Sect and the Youxiwang Sect are.
They can be indebted to others, but they won't let others be indebted to them.
Xiao Ling grinned, feeling satisfied at their actions. He looked at xiao Bao who smiled at him, which made xiao Bai's face appear less cold. "Tell them." he told xiao Bao, ignoring xiao Bao's smile.
Xiao Bao didn't take xiao Ling's ignorance to his heart and when he turned, his face turned back to being cold again. "Although he has special eyes, he, indeed, can't help Er Zi. None of you can." He said.
They all fell silent, since they already knows this. Ling Yun bit his lip, blaming himself for being inept. Cui Xiang, whose eyes are red but is holding back her tears to not make the others feel more disheartened of Fei Yinzi's condition, patted Ling Yun's back to comfort him. Only the two of them knows medical skills, thanks to Cheng Sheng. One of them has special eyes while the other is talented in refining magic pills.
But, both can't help their friend right now.
"It is because none of you possess high cultivation that can help suppress Fei Yinzi's chaotic qi." Xiao Bing said. "But… even if so, you might still be able to save him with your current cultivation." He told them.
Their foreheads knotted in bewilderment. What does he mean by that? Aren't his words chaotic? They thought, feeling doubtful, though they didn't voice out their thoughts.
"Please, senior, tell us." Cui Xiang said and almost knelt. As a doctor, she values everyone's lives, and is fair. So, she feels responsible of everyone's lives right now.
"No! I should be the one to kneel!" Ling Yun said and stopped Cui Xiang.
"Please!" xiao Ling rolled his eyes at them.
Ling Yun and Cui Xiang froze.
"We don't want your kneel. Forget it." Xiao Bao irritably said. "Where is he now?" he asked and looked around.
Everyone. "…" don't pretend. You two have been spying on us for a long time, so how can you not know where Fei Yinzi is?! They thought and bit their tongue to not voice out their thoughts.
"This way, senior." Chen Wu spoke, breaking the awkward silence.
"Oh, right. Before that – " xiao Bao said and turned. " – you have to choose one person." He told them.
"… 'choose one person'?" they asked.
"En. Which person is closest to Fei Yinzi?" xiao Bao asked. "The one he trusts the most." He added.
They were stunned.
"Don't randomly choose, nor ever chose wrongly." Xiao Bao continued as he seriously looked at them. "He might die.." He said.
