Chapter 21: Henrietta Claus
Chapter 21: Henrietta Claus
-----
“I didn’t know you’ve watched TV already. Did you see me on TV?” Wondered the innocent-looking blonde girl.
To be honest, she’s not a bad girl. She’s actually a very sweet person. And rather nice and gentle-hearted as well, from what I remember from the novel. However, there’s a big flaw in her character, and that’s her inability to reason at times and let her emotions get the better of her.
What do I mean by that? Well, her powers and even the Constellation she serves are all around being a righteous paladin. She won’t escape from danger, and if she sees many people being attacked or suffering, instead of prioritizing her own safety, she’ll jump into danger to sacrifice herself just to help those in need.
Is that a bad trait? Not really, but in the novel, this was always portrayed terribly. She often got in the way of Jack many times, forcing him to help people he didn’t care for. Sometimes she would try to stop him from killing people, even if they were fucked up criminals or psychopaths.
Other times, she would get herself into danger and almost get killed, only for Jack to show up and protect her. She’s a “love interest” for obvious reasons, she has feelings for Jack, but her overly righteous and slightly self-centered personality makes her a bad… A rather bad match for my brother.
Yet somehow, the author always portrayed them as “complementing one another”, though he wrote it terribly. But perhaps it can be different now. We’re in a pretty early stage of the plot. Maybe if I could help my brother be more sociable, and also help Henrietta think things better instead of acting, we could improve their weaknesses.
“I-I… Yeah…” I sighed, pretending to know her from TV. “You’re Henrietta Claus, right? The A Rank Hunter known as the “Brilliant Paladin”! You’re so cool!”
I can’t say I don’t like her whole aesthetic as a paladin. She’s really cool, nonetheless. But I was still pretending to admire her. I think she’s alright. Well, for one thing, she was a very pretty lady, so I suppose that’s a big plus. I wouldn’t mind her being my sister-in-law.
“Heheh, is that so~?” She wondered while feeling all embarrassed. “I am just a humble hunter at the end of the day, so let’s not use mannerisms or anything like that if possible!”
She quickly gave me a head pat while smiling at me. For being 17 I was awfully short, and Henrietta was one hell of a tall woman, she was around two meters in height, and my brother surpassed her by a tiny bit.
“Yeah, let’s get along! I didn’t know you were my brother’s girlfriend.” I said with a smile.
“G-Girlfriend?!” Henrietta suddenly bit her lip, blushing. “T-That’s not it! I am just his friend… A month ago he saved me from some Demonic Humans that ambushed me inside a Dungeon, since then I’ve been indebted to him.”
Yeah, my brother rescued her from the Demonic Humans that serve Lilith, the Demoness of Lust. They are a group of degenerates, obsessive perverts that kidnap people to drain them of their powers using their special abilities. And I won’t go into more detail about how they do that.
My brother happened to find her inside that very dungeon, and after slaughtering the demonic humans, he rescued her. She’s really in love with him, the typical “good girl” obsessed with a “bad boy” that she wants to “fix”. It’s kind of cute.
Ding!
[The Character [Henrietta Claus] has a good first impression of you.]
[Due to the effects of the [Little Sister F: Lv2] Skill, this first impression has been amplified!]
[She has a VERY good impression of you and seems to be very interested in you as well.]
[The [Little Sister F: Lv2] Skill has reached Level 3!]
What the heck, so that’s how I level up the Little Sister Skill? No wonder I had no idea how to use it, it activates automatically and gains EXP based on how I influence people with my words and my high Charm Stat.
“Hey, Henrietta, I told you to not enter my sister’s room!” My brother quickly came running here. “She’s still sleeping, and I want her to fully recover before- Oh, you’re awake.”
“Yeah, I woke up just now, Henrietta’s your friend?! I had no idea!” I said happily.
“Y-Yeah, she’s… a friend I suppose.” My brother seemed clearly annoyed by her.
In the original story, she didn’t come to visit Anna at all, this is a change from the original story. But why? What did provoke her to come here all of a sudden?
“I came running here after your brother told me there were Demonic Humans in that dungeon. I actually intended to go help him last night, but I ended up arriving when everything had ended already..” She added. “But I am glad you survived, Anna, you’re a very strong girl. I can feel within you the brilliance of light as well.”
Henrietta’s eyes began shining brightly.
Ding!
[Henrietta Claus] Unique Skill: [Eyes of Judgement A: Lv10] has been activated!]
[She has judged you as a good person and sees through your innate talent with the light element.]
Yeah, this is another of her powers, “Eyes of Judgement” a unique power her Constellation sponsoring her granted to her, the {Divine Judge of Flames}, or as his true name goes, Archangel Gabriel. Because of this power, she can quickly detect “evil” people. My brother, despite having a sinister split personality influenced by Fenrir, is actually still a “good guy” and she wouldn’t be here if she didn’t know that. This is also another reason why she trusts people so easily. She relies too much on her power.
“I-I see, so you can tell. I did get a special Physique that enhances my light element.” I said with a smile.
“Physique? What’s that?” She wondered.
Ah, she has no idea of the whole cultivation elements, doesn’t she?
“Like a skill of the body or something,” Jack said. “Anyways, we should have breakfast, I want to have a small talk with you, Anna.”
“Sure.” I nodded, quickly walking to the bathroom to wash my face.
Ding!
[The Cosmic Throne {Divine Judge of Flames} has shown some interest in you.]
[Due to being recognized by his sponsored character, he has a good impression of you as well.]
Ah, he showed up already… Honestly, he’s a pain in the ass, always forcing Henrietta to do righteous things. I’m just going to ignore him.
“Hmph.” I sighed, as I washed my face and then walked to the kitchen to have breakfast.
Ding!
[The Cosmic Throne {Divine Judge of Flames} is shocked that you’ve ignored his attention!]
[The other Constellations are laughing out loud!]
[Some Constellations have sponsored you 100 Plot Points for making the {Divine Judge of Flames} feel embarrassed.]
[The Cosmic Throne {Divine Judge of Flames} frowns at you.]
Oh, I got 100 Plot Points due to that? I guess some Constellations really just like to fuck one other as much as they can… Talking about plot points, shouldn’t I be able to get some Privileges now? And also how many levels did I get at the end? I need to check this…

Level 9, nine levels in total? That’s less than I expected, but still pretty alright. I got 65 Skill Points and 60 Stat Points… Skill Points can either be used to get new Skills or to boost other Skills as well. Enough of them can make Skills evolve if their levels are high enough, or they can even be fused as well. But for that, I need THAT Skill, and it is not available in the Skill Shop, sadly. I need to get it from somewhere else, and I think my little friend Sepa here could help me get to it very quickly, knowing she’s an Egyptian Goddess and all.
“Hey, Sepa.” I touched her jewel while talking to her telepathically.
“What do you want now?!” She angrily shouted back at me.
“Hey, I’m just trying to talk with you casually! Do you have to be so rude all the time? Okay, here it goes!” I told her.
“What?! What are you-Uwawaaaahhh!”
I began shaking her jewel as fast as I could, I could hear her squirming and groaning inside of it. One side of me felt bad about her, and the other side couldn’t help but want to shake her jewel even more. My brother and Henrietta saw me shaking my arm around while raising an eyebrow.
“Master, please stop! STOP! Okay, I’ll be nice! I-I’ll pay for my damn sentence… Tell me, what do you want?” She cried.
“Good girl. I just was wondering… If you’re an Egyptian Goddess, can you feel when Dungeons related to you will pop up?” I wondered.
“That’s confidential information…” She said.
I quickly threatened her of shaking the jewel again.
“Aaaggh! Okay, okay I’ll tell you! I can feel them all, as long as they’re related to my Divinities!” She cried.
“Hmm, and can you bring me there?” I wondered.
“A-As long as enough Mana is supplied… I could probably teleport you to a Dungeon that has a relationship with my Divinity and History as a goddess, but what sort of dungeon do you want to go to anyway? They’re all so high level you’re going to get shredded!” She laughed.
“And can we enter a Dungeon that has yet to open through Gates?” I wondered with a smirk.
She seemed afraid of what I was thinking about.
“Y-Yes, it is possible… But that’s… What are you even thinking? Wait, don’t tell me…!” She began to panic.
“Once I am prepared enough, let’s take a trip to {Anubis’ Pyramid} then, it is decided.” I nodded.
“Y-You’re fucking crazy… Well, if you die then that’s all good for me, hehehe…” She began laughing.
Anubis’ Pyramid is one of the Ancient Tombs that were awakened as a Dungeon from a few months from now, it is one that was quickly swarmed by Hunters and had all their amazing items stolen from.
One of the enemies of my brother in the novel possessed a unique power that he acquired from that, aside from the Ability to Fuse Skills, there’s another good one that could probably guarantee my safety even in the worst possible scenarios, at least within the Second Awakening Scenario.
The “Third Awakening” is where… shit gets real, and I would prefer to prepare very well until that moment comes. But for now, let’s pick some new Privileges, I should have enough Plot Points by now!
“Anna? Anna, are you listening to me?” Jack wondered, looking at me.
“Ah! Yes?” I wondered. “I was so distracted by my own thoughts, I just… can’t believe I am finally awake and all.”
My brother suddenly smiled back at me.
“I am also happy you’re back. But let’s talk first… I was thinking that you should go back to school.” He said while drinking some tea. “How about it? I remember you used to say you wanted to be a doctor when you grew up, right?”
Wait, what? Is he being serious?
“…School?” I wondered. “The whole world changed, and you want me to go to school?!”
“Don’t tell me you want to be a hunter…” Jack said. “That’s too dangerous!”
“…Huh? Isn’t it a bit late to say that?” I sighed. “I have already awakened. I want to be a hunter to… save people!”
“But Anna…” My brother felt rather guilty.
Meanwhile, Henrietta was almost moved to tears. Wow, she’s so easy to convince.
“Jack, you should definitely let her become a hunter! Look at her eyes, so filled with honesty! She’s brimming with righteousness!”
Jack glanced at my eyes, as I gave him the cutest puppy eyes I could…
Ding!
[The Effects of the [Little Sister F: Lv3] and [Charlatan D: Lv2] Skills have combined to strengthen your convincing ability!]
[Main Character [Jack] feels moved by your adorable resolve!]
“Ugh…” My brother sighed. “Fine… But with one condition.”
“Yes? Anything!” I said.
“You’ll still finish your basic studies.” He said with a judgmental gaze, crossing his arms.
“Agh… Sure.” I sighed. “Can I do it at home at least?”
“Fine.” He sighed.
“Nice!” I celebrated.
After having breakfast, and without further delay, we moved to the Hunters Association Government Building, ready to register. Oh, and Sepa called me a “bitch” like thirty times. I’ll let that slide because I know she’s going through a lot. However, after shaking the jewel a couple more times, accidentally, she became incredibly nicer. How curious.
