The Peak of Alchemy & Martial

Chapter 6

C6 – Pill King Master

“Father, I see nothing improper about this situation. It’s clear that the Qiu family has come to insult our Yun family. Whether or not I act, they will coerce us into action,” Yun Haoyan stated calmly.

The Qiu family was blatantly seeking trouble with us, setting the stage to justify wiping out our Yun family tomorrow night.

Even if Yun Haoyan refrained from acting, the Qiu family would compel the Yun family to engage.

Upon hearing Yun Haoyan’s words, Yun Hai paused, momentarily taken aback. He was well aware of these machinations, having weathered many storms; he understood that the Qiu family was intentionally provoking them today.

Yet, he hadn’t anticipated Yun Haoyan’s keen insight into the matter.

“Father, you’re aware that the Qiu family is intentionally stirring up trouble, but did you consider that their ultimate aim is to eradicate our entire Yun family? If you grasped the full extent now, you’d likely be packing our bags and fleeing with our kin tonight,” Yun Haoyan thought to himself, looking at his astonished father.

“How have you grown so strong so suddenly?” Yun Hai inquired abruptly.

Yun Haoyan’s innate talent was at best mediocre. The family business wasn’t thriving, and the Spirit Stones provided for his cultivation were scant. Currently, Yun Haoyan’s martial realm was evidently at level one of Martial Warrior, suggesting he must have employed an advanced martial skill.

Recently, Yun Haoyan had bested several high-ranking Martial Warriors. The techniques he utilized were so sophisticated that even a ninth-level Martial Master like Yun Hai couldn’t decipher them.

If Yun Haoyan were privy to his father’s conjectures, he’d surely retort, “Father, you’re overthinking it. To handle such riffraff, martial arts aren’t necessary. Quick reflexes are more than sufficient.”

“Father, I’ve taken on a master who taught me a few techniques. I never expected them to be so formidable that I could easily defeat my opponents,” Yun Haoyan admitted openly.

Yun Haoyan had a strategy in place. By acknowledging a mysterious master, he could account for his newfound martial prowess. Besides, no Martial Cultivator, not even his father, would probe too deeply into such matters.

Yun Haoyan had a plan set in stone. Once he had dealt with the Qiu family tonight, he intended to seek out his former master the following evening and bring him back to join the Yun family.

His master was none other than the Pill King, a title that would easily explain Yun Haoyan’s sudden surge in strength.

Regarding the incident where Yun Haoyan was knocked unconscious by Qiu Kuiwei yesterday, a simple claim of a Qiu family ambush would suffice as an explanation.

Moreover, in this lifetime, Yun Haoyan was determined to inherit the feud of his master and seek vengeance for the crippling of his dantian.

Yun Hai gave a nod of approval. It was clear to him that Yun Haoyan’s remarkable abilities could only be attributed to the guidance of a high-level expert.

“Yun Haoyan, make sure you learn diligently from your master. Having such a powerful mentor is a blessing you should cherish,” he advised.

“Rest assured, Father. The master has already promised to come and oversee our family. I’ll bring him here in a couple of days,” Yun Haoyan replied with confidence.

“Excellent!” exclaimed Yun Hai, visibly elated. With a formidable expert in residence, the Qiu family would think twice before acting brashly.

Yun Hai had full faith in Yun Haoyan’s martial training under the mysterious expert. Besides, the Yun family possessed nothing of value that would tempt such a powerful figure to conspire against them.

“Here’s what we’ll do—you’ll need Spirit Stones for your training with the master. I have some to spare; take these,” Yun Hai offered, handing over a weighty bag.

Yun Haoyan accepted the bag and expressed his gratitude, “Thank you, Father.”

It was customary for a junior to accept a gift from an elder without hesitation.

“Now, go on and focus on your training,” Yun Hai instructed.

“Yes, Father,” Yun Haoyan responded, and with purposeful strides, he left the study.

Outside, Yun Tiantian was pacing with worry. Catching sight of Yun Haoyan, she quickly approached him, her voice laced with concern, “Brother, Father didn’t reprimand you, did he?”
