Chapter 23
C23 – Who Hit My Sister?
“Who are you people to dare undress my sister? Are you looking for death?” Yun Haoyan walked over to his sister, his gaze softening as he looked at her.
He gently pried Yun Tiantian’s hand away, revealing a distinct handprint on her skin. Her once fair and radiant complexion was marred by the angry red marks, causing Yun Haoyan’s heart to ache.
“Does it hurt?” he asked tenderly.
Yun Tiantian first shook her head, then nodded, her face brightening slightly at the sight of her brother.
“Mind your own business. Do you have any idea who we are? We’re with the Bian family,” a burly man in servant’s garb declared.
The Bian family’s influence in Silkbarrow was unparalleled. With the road to Ambercoast blocked, they became the toast of the town, even receiving a personal visit from the castellan. Every family in Silkbarrow was eager to please them, emboldening their arrogance and lawlessness.
“Who struck my sister?” Yun Haoyan demanded, his voice icy, his face devoid of emotion as he surveyed the crowd.
The servant-like man from the Bian family bristled at the question. “Didn’t you hear me? This lady here is the young miss of the Bian family from Silkbarrow. It doesn’t matter who that woman is to you; she’s offended our miss and must apologize. Do you understand?”
“I asked, who hit my sister?” Yun Haoyan’s tone grew even chillier.
The young miss of the Bian family, hands on her hips, retorted disdainfully, “So what if it was me? What are you going to do about it? Hit me?”
No sooner had the words left her mouth than Yun Haoyan was standing before her. With a swift motion, he slapped her, leaving several red welts across her face.
“How dare you strike me? Do you know who I am? You actually dare to hit me!” she exclaimed, clutching her face, her eyes wide with shock.
She could hardly believe that this man had the audacity to strike her. In Silkbarrow, every family sought the favor of the Bian family. Yet here was someone bold enough to defy them at such a critical time.
“You’ve got a death wish, huh? How dare you strike our miss! Brothers, take him down!” barked a servant of the Bian family.
In a flash, they encircled Yun Haoyan.
The crowd quickly backed away, giving them space.
Though they secretly rejoiced at the Bian family’s young lady getting her comeuppance, they wouldn’t dare assist the youth.
The Bian family was one of the four major families, far beyond the reach of ordinary folk.
“I make it a point not to strike women, but some are so despicable that they leave me no choice,” Yun Haoyan remarked, glancing at his palm.
The Bian family had earned a spot on Yun Haoyan’s blacklist. Given the chance, he’d wipe them out just as he had the Qiu family, sparing no one.
“Get him! Beat him until he can’t stand!” shrieked the Bian family’s young lady.
The surrounding Bian family servants sneered menacingly, “We warned you to stay out of it, but you had the gall to hit our miss. Now you’ll pay with your life!”
With that, they lunged at Yun Haoyan, aiming to pin him down.
Yun Haoyan had already seen through their ploy. These Martial Warrior-level servants were like mere grasshoppers to him.
With a swift leap, he landed on one of the charging servants. A kick to another’s face sent him hurtling through the air.
To Yun Haoyan, these servants were riddled with openings. His effortless strikes left them defenseless.
Before long, they were all sprawled on the ground, clutching their faces and regarding Yun Haoyan with terror.
