Chapter 351: a red token ii
Chapter 351: a red token ii
A smile graced Argus's face when he felt his cultivation rank increase. He could tell that just with what he had comprehended alone when they leave this artificial independent space, he will be able to break through from the peak of the Heaven cultivation realm and make it to the Spirit Condensing cultivation realm.
"Thank you, young master." Argus placed his fist in his palm and slightly bowed in front of Al.
Unaware of the pained expression on Al's face. Al felt cheated, pained, and ostracized by the world. "How am I supposed to fight against my fate when it leaves me with no chance of fighting?" Al uttered dejectedly.
"Alexander, look at your wristband again." Mr. Guardian said.
In fear, Al raised his right hand to his eye level, looking at the last fraction of white that was on the last bead. He thought it had been dyed completely too. Why he worried about the rest of the bead, being completely dyed is not because of his cultivation dropping, but because his luck would get worse than it already is. And Mr. Guardian had already told them if every bead turns red, then they wouldn't have any good fortune while they are still in this independent space. That was what he was most afraid of.
"Huh," Al exclaimed when he saw the changes on the bead that still had a fraction of white on it.
"Why did this happen?" He asked as he observed it closer. The white fraction was only as wide a thread previously, but now, it was as wide as the span of three threads placed next to each other.
"If bad deeds affect the state of the beads, then so will good deeds." Mr. Guardian pointed the obvious out.
But Al already knew this, he just couldn't understand when he did something good. "When did I do something good? Wait, was it because I killed that annoying Midas seed carrier?" Al questioned with a wide smile on his face.
Hoping that killing was a good deed.
"No." Mr. Guardian replied blankly.
"No?"
"Yes. It seems that you don't even know that what you did now was a good deed." Mr. Guardian mentioned.
"You mean giving the token to him?" Al arched a brow, confused at how that was a good deed. He just wanted to see if the token would respond to Argus the same way it responded to him.
"Yes. You might have not had the intention of doing it as a good deed, but it was not harmful to anyone but benefiting. And also, Argus was grateful for what you did, resulting in the good Karma." Mr. Guardian explained.
"Oh wow," Al exclaimed gently.
['If that's all it takes to change this bloody red Karma of mine, then I will fill him up with red tokens!'] Al thought excitedly.
['Just make sure that you don't divert from the main goal. Only go for the tokens that are on the way to the petal.'] Lex commented.
['Yeah, yeah.'] Al replied with an eye roll.
"Come on Milo, let us be our way. Hahaha!! We have to stuff Argus with a lot of red tokens and make him grateful to us!" Al announced happily.
A mixture of different expressions was on Argus's face after he heard this. He was confused and also happy, and a bit wary too. If he was going to be given more of the red tokens, then he will be the one reaping the gains. Argus now understood the weight of these red tokens. It could do more than increase your cultivation by a few ranks if you obtain a lot of it.
The laws and Daos that were in it were numerous and complex in their own way. Being able to comprehend a lot of them, one will be able to solidify their Dao heart and might be able to create their unique ability.
"Hey, Your Highness, what about me? Stuff me up with the red tokens too, I will also be grateful." Sakura chipped when she realized that she could also gain from this.
"You? I don't know who you are." Al glanced at her and eyed her, as if he had never seen her before.
"What!?" Sakura exclaimed. "Then why don't we get to know ourselves better while we journey together." She suggested.
Al turned his head and looked at Sakura and then said; "Shameless I like that." Al commented and faced his front.
"What does that mean? Is he going to leave some for me or not?" Sakura asked Argus.
"I have no idea," Argus answered, he also didn't care about Sakura. Even if she doesn't get anything now, after all of this is done, Mr. Guardian already promised them separate rewards.
While they were moving, Al started whistling happily and Milo was moving his head along with the melody as he carried Al along. Al unconsciously glanced at the time interface on the screen crawler, and when he saw the time and date, he stopped whistling.
"That can't be possible." He looked up at the sun for confirmation. It was still high up in the sky, and it didn't look like its close mid-afternoon yet. "It hasn't been 3 hours since we first arrived on the island with the prisoners," Al muttered.
When he looked at the time and date, on its display was '12:03 AM. 13th December, 3030.'
['Xander, according to the time you remember on the Skin crawler's time interface, when did we arrive on the island?'] Al questioned.
Even if he didn't want to talk to the rest yet, he couldn't help but ask because he felt as if he was going crazy, so he had to confirm.
['We arrived on the island 6 days ago.'] Xander replied.
['Then when did 6 days pass us by in a few hours?'] Al wondered.
"Mr. Guardian, is there something wrong with the concept of time here?" Al Questioned.
"Ah, you've finally noticed, or did your treasure tell you?"
"The treasure did in a way," Al answered.
"The concept of time here is slower. 30 days in the lower plain realm will be equivalent to 2 days here." Mr. Guardian revealed.
"The continental competition is about to reach its climax then," Al muttered. He didn't know why the thought of his teammates came to his mind, but it did.
['Yeah'] Alex responded.
['If things are going smoothly, then they should be nearing the quarter-finals of the competition.'] Xander pointed out.
['Yeah I do kind of feel bad for ditching them. Even when I'm telling myself that we didn't ditch them.'] Lex interjected.
"When I get the petal, everything here will end right?" Al asked to reconfirm.
"Yes, just like it happened the previous times that you obtained a Midas petal. I am only able to come to the 3 plain realms through astral projection by using the energy signature of the Petal as a pass.
If I forcefully remain after the petal has been taken, the laws of the universe will crush my astral projection and my physical body. Beings on my level are gods on the 3 plain realms, and since we can destroy the 3 plain realms with just an unintentional sneeze, the universe will not tolerate our presence here in any form. But there are ways to come down here without getting punished, just as long as we don't use our powers in the 3 plain realms." Mr. Guardian disclosed.
"But then again, you were able to use your powers in the 3 plain realms." Al pointed out, recalling the terrifying black hole that opened up in front of them.
Knowing what Al was referring to, Mr. Guardian said; "That wasn't my power, I used a portion of the QI from the Midas petal to bring all of you here, to where I will be allowed to use a bit of my powers without any repercussion."
Al nodded, understanding what Mr. Guardian explained.
"Faster, Milo," Al ordered. "Try to keep up!" He said to Argus and Sakura as Milo increased his speed.
Meanwhile...
Outside on the real island where the opening to the Ordain plain realm is, a lot of cultivators from the Celestial plain realm arrived here.
Many of them came to try their luck after they heard that some of the non-seed carriers vanished alongside the Midas seed carriers, and those that vanished alongside the Midas seed carriers were all under the age of 120.
Most of them were here with their disciples, the ones that meet the age requirement to compete. Unfortunately for them, they couldn't find any clue onto how they could make it to where the Midas seed carriers are.
"Are we here to mediate matters, fathe I mean sect master?" An average height gardener in a green overall attire spoke to the man that was ahead of him. This individual had a green bucket hat that covered most of his face. They had been here for a while, watching the visitors from the Celestial plain realm scurry and search for an entrance.
"Why would I be here just mediate matters between greedy and hungry greedy people, Amir?" A man in ash robe asked. He used his right hand to rub his beards slowly and kept his left hand behind him as he dived into his thoughts. He had short hair that was black and grey and little wrinkles underneath his eyes. This sect master was rather tall, taller than his average height son.
"And Amir, why are you still wearing that gardener overall?" The sect master asked.
"Oh, mother asked me not to take it off until she tells me to, but if you give me the permission to, I will change into something better," Amir answered.
"Do what your mother says." The sect master replied rather quickly
