Chapter 661
Chapter 661
Given the chaos being unleashed, it would not be surprising if Davey was causing an international controversy. Countless people were killed in a sudden attack by the Malicious Spirit. On top of that, Davey was also unleashing a torrent of sword strikes, as if severing a massive bridge in half with a sword was not enough. From a simple military perspective, the efficiency and firepower were terrifying. Yet, no one at the moment could recognize it. Perhaps only after a long time had gone by and only traces remained would the Earth buzz with speculations and opinions about what had occurred to completely demolish a massive bridge.
Under the starry sky, a cool night breeze swept over the majestic palace in the Middle East while a blue figure appeared, waving one hand.
Woosh...
An intangible force flowed from the being’s fingertip and began to engulf the surroundings. It was as if a blue aurora was spreading in a condensed form. However...
Crack!!!
Another figure appeared, scattering the being's power with a simple swing of the hand.
"That's enough."
It was a short and chilly voice.
"..."
The figure was a petite girl with blue hair, casting lights like the Milky Way across the night sky. As she floated in the air, she lifted her head and opened her eyes slightly. Meanwhile, the blue presence moved at a slow pace under her frosty gaze. The girl, emanating a chilling air, started spinning the ring above her head faster and enlarging it.
Thud!!!
In response, the blue being unleashed its power on her.
[A fragment of divine authority fallen to an unworthy land dares to oppose.]
A child's voice flowed from the blue figure. It sounded mesmerizing, yet the girl nonchalantly ignored it. She gradually approached, and when the blue figure was within range, she reached out her hand, grasped the figure's neck and arm, and tore them apart.
Crack!! Zzzt!!!
With a harrowing sound, the figure was ripped apart.
"Whatever you do, the predetermined outcome will not change. Neither for her nor for me. Your interference is deemed unnecessary from this point,” the girl warned softly yet firmly.
The blue being then shattered into pieces.
[O traitor...]
"Your plans end here."
Following those words, the blue being vanished, and the girl with blue hair quietly looked up at the sky and waved her hand.
Boom!!!
Just then, the blue being's power that enveloped the Earth began to warp, initiating vast changes. The beings that defied all transcendent powers existing on Earth slowly got weakened, and the laws corrupted by the Malicious Spirits began to run rampant, distorting and altering everything.
"The promise will surely be kept," she muttered before closing her eyes and vanishing completely.
Where she disappeared, only bluish particles remained, fluttering in the empty air.
* * *
In the midst of the bombardment of the energy blades, the being summoned by the Malicious Spirit attempted to disperse in an attempt to escape from Davey. But Davey had no intention of letting them off with any tricks. Even though Caldeiras had left Davey’s hand to join the energy swords in the air, Davey saw no need to call Caldeiras back to him and stop the rain of energy swords.
What he did instead was pull out a simple metal knuckle from the Pocket Plane. He then slipped it into his hand, took a breath, and slowly lifted his left foot.
Thump!!!
And then, as if taking a step forward, Davey surged downward.
Boom!!!
A loud sound rattled the entire area, and for a split second, everything, including all other noises, stopped. Rock fragments propelled by the shockwave hung in midair, frozen and motionless.
"Crazy fool! You're diving into death willingly?!"
Davey’s action perplexed one of the beings. After all, the sword rain created by Caldeiras was essentially indiscriminate in its attack, so it assumed that Davey might also get hit naturally. But a mere moment later, the being’s eyes widened as if they were about to tear apart. Because in the seemingly halted flow of time, Davey dove straight toward another being that was nearby.
Thud!!
Davey, who had closed the distance in an instant, struck the being’s torso, caught its contorting body with his foot, and smashed it down ruthlessly before turning away.
Thump!!! Thump!!!
And as soon as Davey had quickly vanished, Caldeiras' rain of swords poured down upon the spot where he had been. Silence once again filled the air, and the entire place was enveloped by stillness.
Crash!!
Showing agile movements, two of the beings managed to dodge the attacks and even attempted to smoothly evade Caldeiras. But as if moving through a slow motion that left afterimages, Davey blocked their retreat and charged at them using his shoulder soundlessly.
[Longsword]
[Physical Destruction]
[Destruction]
Boom!!!
A massive shockwave erupted, sending rocks that seemed to float in the air scattering in all directions. Having their retreat blocked and after taking a solid hit, the expressions of the beings distorted, and Davey grabbed their legs.
Davey then threw them toward the pouring energy swords, impaling them.
“What is this...”
Davey, who had a pair of ominously gleaming red eyes and a cold, eerie smile, quietly said, “Don't run, you bastards.”
Thud!!!
The overwhelming domination began. It was a one-sided massacre.
* * *
It was unbelievable. The Malicious Spirit would never have imagined the extent of Davey's strength. It simply exceeded expectations by far. It was not just about the sheer amount of power he held but also the merciless beating he delivered that stemmed from the overwhelming experience and combat skills he had. Even the forms of beings known for their formidable defense were swept away without a chance to let out a scream and were impaled by the cascading energy swords.
Despite their staggering number, all of them could feel it—the need to flee! They could clearly realize that something was terribly wrong. If they were to suppress Davey, they would need more time. But fear crept in that they might be annihilated before having a chance to buy that time.
“Ugh!!”
Ultimately, the Malicious Spirit knew he needed to step in, as he realized the situation could get worse for them. The beings that were present were so weak compared to Davey that even buying time seemed impossible. So the Malicious Spirit released a dark energy as he hurriedly moved his hands.
“Ugh?!"
When he came to his senses, a fist was already buried in his abdomen.
“Get ready for this. You're about to take a hit.”
Boom!!!
Davey clenched his hand and swung again, targeting him in midair. The dent in the abdomen took another hit, and the impact deepened the already existing dent. This caused the Malicious Spirit to stagger and wince at the immense destructive force.
What kind of power was this?
Bang!!!
“Ahh... No! I need to regain my posture...”
Failing to maintain a stance meant allowing openings for further attacks. But the Malicious Spirit struggled to awaken his body, and his will, seemingly disconnected from his body, refused to obey.
Crash!!!!!
A tremendous blast silenced everything, smashing the Malicious Spirit to the ground. Not only that, it also created a cloud of dust tens of meters high, driving the Malicious Spirit into the ground and eventually plunging him into the cold depths of the Han River.
“Cough! Choke! Ack!”
Struggling to regain composure, the Malicious Spirit lifted his head. He then saw Davey, floating against the moon in the sky, poised to strike.
“Prepare. Another hit is coming."
Along with that chilling voice, the metallic knuckles in Davey's hand finally gave in to the pressure and completely shattered.
‘This is dangerous.’
Realizing this instinctively, the Malicious Spirit took a desperate gamble.
Boom!!!!!
He unlocked an incomplete sealing array.
Woosh!!!
Beams of light turned into tendrils that wrapped around Davey. They then started to drain his power, as if feasting on it.
“Ugh... You’re making me work for it!!”
The Malicious Spirit, grimacing, tore apart the remaining pieces of his tattered suit and rose into the air.
Woosh!!!
Simultaneously, the other beings rushed at Davey, bounding him like ropes, and many of them sacrificed themselves just to bind a single figure.
Now it was perfect. Davey could no longer escape. Or so they thought.
Because why did Davey look too serene?
“It’s usual.”
“What?”
The moment the Malicious Spirit frowned at Davey’s calm voice, it was then that he saw it.
A part of the sealing array that enveloped Davey began to creak.
Unless Neltarid's will descended to help Davey, breaking free was utterly impossible.
“Nelt... Neltarid... Oh Neltarid! Why do you forsake us?!” the Malicious Spirit desperately cried, and it echoed throughout the area.
Boom!!!
As soon as the array binding Davey completely shattered, Davey plunged down along with the Malicious Spirit like a flash of lightning.
“To ask me that is futile.”
A scarlet beam of light descended like the staff of a god, driving the water of the Han River away over hundreds of meters, and the water split like Moses' miracle.
And from the dry riverbed, the Malicious Spirit gasped for air as he looked up at Davey.
“Remember, the least reliable thing in this world is a god.”
Davey offered a faint smile after hearing these words.
“I know. There’s no need to tell me.”
The water of the Han River, as if rewinding time, then began to flow back into its course.
