Chapter 2518 Hellbringer
Chapter 2518 Hellbringer
The Ecologer took a seat in the audience of the Human Summit, having done her part in enlightening humanity to what had already happened and what was to come. Now she looked forward to the solutions that her colleagues were going to present. She had high expectations of both of them. She had known the Esoterist for many years and while she had only met Rui very recently, she was quite impressed by his intellect and knowledge and his astonishing prowess as a Martial Artist.
BZZT
A new projection lit up on the podium.
One that had been anticipated.
Rui directed a sweeping gaze across the entirety of the gathered leadership of the political sphere and the Martial World. He noted a frustrated President Raymond, the seething Sekigaharan clan leaders, and an ice-cold Prime Minister Edward and resisted the urge to smirk smugly in their faces.
He also noted other familiar faces such as that of Guildmaster Bradt, the leaders of the Kaddar Region, Senior Sarak of the Floating Sect, and several others.
He also regarded the leaders of the other Sage-level powerhouses with interest. Their poker faces were immaculate.
And yet, he could sense the grudging respect from all of them. Blood Lord Vrukshus regarded him with greed.
The Elder of the Heaven Sect looked at him with some interest.
Bodhihsattva Maitreyi gazed at him knowingly and pityingly.
The Martial Pontifex of the Virodhabhasa Theocracy beheld him with hope as well as a hint of devotion hidden deep within his eyes.
Sage Jinryong Namgung eyed him with a hint of approval.
The Emperor of Harmony wore an inscrutable mask. Yet, Rui knew that he was not pleased that he had been kept in the dark about his son's involvement with the task-force.
He found his gaze fixing on the leader of the Gu, the Gujincan, Sage Asmodeus. Rui was unable to discern anything from his pitch-black eyes.
He simply gazed at Rui, waiting for him to commence.
And thus, he did.
"Leaders of human civilization..."
His voice spread to all ends of the conference hall.
"Would you believe me if I told you that there is a world most fit to destroy each and every one of you?"
His words were sharp.
The air tingled.
It grew electric.
"Would you believe me if I tell you that Hell is unique for each and every single one of you?"
They narrowed their eyes at his words.
He wasn't doing himself a favor with his provocative choice of words.
"Would you believe me if I tell you that I can harness that Hell against you?"
The tension in the air pricked at the nerves.
"Would you believe me if I tell you that I can do just that at this very moment?"
They stiffened at his words. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Surely, the answer was no.
And yet, they found it hard to dismiss. Rui smiled. BADUMP!
A wave of shock and surprise spread across the leaders of human civilization. He closed his eyes as he embodied the Tree of Life, and only the Tree of Life, in his mind, projecting the information he saw through hypnosis onto the minds of the leaders of human civilization.
The human leaders gasped with shock as the very world around them changed drastically.
Heaven and earth changed at their very root.
The world adaptively evolved to them, becoming their very antithesis.
It set them ablaze, threatening to burn them alive.
Or it gushed with an avalanche of water, seeking to drown them. Many of the leaders had medical issues that altered what the most antithetical world to them was. Those with asthma experienced thinner air while those with blood pressure problems were thrust into a world with greater atmospheric pressure, exacerbating their conditions.
It was truly horrifying to live in an antithetical world that seemed tailored to kill them in the most efficient and effective way.
And yet, it disappeared sooner than it arrived.
It lasted the briefest of moments before disappearing.
The human leaders were shocked while the eyes of the Martial Artist leaders lit up with interest and understanding.
Unlike the clueless and shocked human leaders, they understood exactly where Rui was going with this. "Scary, isn't it?" He smiled at all of them. "Each living being possesses a personal, unique hell. A world and an environment that is most antithetical to them, one that is adaptively evolved to them to the very core of their being. What that personal hell looks like changes from species to species and individual to individual. What each of you saw is the personal hell that is most antithetical and adaptively evolved to you."
His words sent chills crawling across their skin.
"What if I tell you that I possess the power to discern the hell of each species?" Rui maintained his smile. "What if I tell you that this allows me to participate and even contribute meaningfully to Sage-level battlefronts of the defense lines?"
Many leaders gasped with shock and disbelief.
Yet, many more knew that he was telling the truth.
Rui had not tried to hide his involvement, and thus the information spread like wildfire throughout the highest echelons of human civilization.
Rui Quarrier Silas Kandria had fought alongside Sages.
Nobody knew how a Martial Master was able to contribute to battles featuring Martial Sages and Sage-level beasts.
Until now, of course.
"What if I tell you that I can pass on much of this power to the entirety of human civilization?"
Their eyes lit up with disbelief at his words.
As well as hope, excitement, and enthusiasm.
"It seems that I have firmly caught your attention." Rui smirked. "Since that's the case, allow me to explain more about the solution that I am offering to all of human civilization. A solution that I believe will allow all of humankind to adaptively evolve to the Beast Incursion. A solution that will contribute to humanity's victory."
His projection glanced at the screen that lit up, shifting to a slide that had a single title at the top.
[Hellbringer]
It was the name of the solution that would bring humankind hope.
