Chapter 35 – The Late Husband Was Eye Candy (2)
Carefully put away her ATM card, Yan Shuyu immediately picked up her instant son, who was standing on his tiptoes and staring longingly at the ATM screen. She returned to her usual generous self and said, “Okay, Yuanbao, mommy got paid. Let’s go out for a good meal, how about the hot pot place that we went to last time?”
She would save the opportunity to milk her new boss later~
Zhang Yuanjia had never objected to having dinner at the restaurant that his mother worked at, but his little face couldn’t help but beam, “Okay, okay! Let’s go to hot pot!”
There was a little snack shop selling sesame pocket shaobing with meat that was raved about online right next door. The line wasn’t very long in the early afternoon. She thought about how on the weekend when she didn’t feel comfortable leaving Zhang Yuanjia home by himself, she would always bring him to the restaurant with her, and how her colleagues would help her watch him when it was busy at the restaurant. She had just gotten pay today and should bring them something as a token of appreciation.

As soon as she walked inside the hot pot shop, she discussed with her instant son, “After we put in our order, you stay here and be good while mommy run next door to buy some snacks for the ge ge and jie jie at the restaurant, okay?”

Not only did the restaurant that Yan Shuyu work at have elegant and luxurious décor, it also has a very Western name – “Sunshine House”. With a kid’s voice, Zhang Yuanjia asked, “Are you going to Sunshine House by yourself?”
“Of course not. We will go there together on our way back after lunch.” After a slight pause, she added, “After that, we’ll go home, take a nap. Then you will go with mommy back to the shop to work. What do you think?”
“I think that’s okay.” The little boy has no other questions and waved his hand like a little adult, “Okay, mom, you can go buy yummy food now.”
“Alright, you sit here and don’t go anywhere, okay?”
Zhang Yuanjia promised he would. Yan Shuyu felt quite comfortable about that. The villainous boss had been a smart kid since childhood; the only time he acted out of character was when he ran into the big boss Zhou Qinhe an hour ago. Nevertheless, Yan Shuyu didn’t blame her instant son for that. In the novel, the villainous boss was the male lead’s father’s number one fan. He was more fanatic about him than even his own son. It was all meant to be, for better or for worse.
As long as the male lead’s father was nowhere close, Yan Shuyu trusted that her son was a very responsible child. Of course, she gave the server a heads up to keep an eye out on him before she took off. That’s what you’d call double safety.
The gorgeous looking mother and son pair was just here last week, sort of like returning customers already. They had almost made a lasting impression with the server. She gave her brightest smile when Yan Shuyu asked for the favor and said, “Don’t worry, Miss. It’s not busy in the shop right now, I’ll stand nearby to watch over him.”
“Thank you so much!” Yan Shuyu wasted no time in going over to stand in line.
After she had paid for the food and returned, Miss Server was really standing next to her son and somehow found a stuffed toy to keep him occupied. The soup base of the hot pot was already starting to boil and their food had come. The mother and son immediately started eating away.
When they were done eating and both of their stomachs were rounded from all the food, Yan Shuyu went back to pick up the freshly baked sesame pocket shaobing and went to Sunshine House with her instant son. Needless to say, everybody was excited to see them. As the shop was starting to get busy at that hour, Yan Shuyu didn’t cause them any trouble. She brought the food back to the employee’s lounge and left them there for everyone to help themselves whenever they freed up.
She didn’t see Manager Yang on her way out. Yan Shuyu wasn’t surprised; she already had it all figured out during the last few days. Manager Yang was only one of the owners; there were two other ones above him – his mother and his sister. The females of the Yang’s were quite competent, so in comparison, Yang Zifeng was more of a bum. Anyhow, his family was well off so he just needed to keep the shop running to keep himself busy. He did not go into the shop every day; it was extremely lucky for Yan Shuyu to run into Manager Yang in person the morning that she walked into the shop. Normally he’d come during dinner time, stick around for a few minutes, and call it a day.
