Chapter 54 - 54 The Female Lead’s Appearance
54 The Female Lead’s Appearance
“It’s nothing. Class rep, you’ve already worked very hard. If it weren’t for you, we might not even have gotten second place.” Xu Meng looked at Li Ming with admiration, treating herself as his walking stick as she carried him back to the stands.
He Miao followed behind them, afraid that Xu Meng would not be able to bear his weight and fall. She might be able to help.
“You’re quite willing to be someone’s little tail.”
A cold voice came from behind him. He Miao turned around and met Jing Yan’s eyes, which were fixed on him.
He took a step forward and stared into her dazed eyes, the anger in his heart suddenly rising.
“Where are the photos?” Jing Yan turned his head away and suppressed his anger. He thought to himself that if she had obediently taken the photo for him, he would forgive her this time.
However, He Miao shook her head confidently. “I didn’t know you were in the relay race, so I didn’t bring my phone. I’ll have to take the photos next time.”
Jing Yan snorted coldly and was about to leave when he suddenly thought of something. He turned around and glared at He Miao. “That girl of yours is obviously interested in your class rep. Since you two are good friends, you should keep your distance from that Li Ming.”
What did Jing Yan mean?
He Miao looked at his disappearing back in shock. It took her a while to realize that he was reminding her that Xu Meng liked Li Ming.
She went back to them with her doubts and saw Xu Meng checking Li Ming’s ankle with a distressed look.
The medical teacher brought some medicinal wine to wipe his red and swollen ankle. Xu Meng was talking to Li Ming in a low voice, her eyes full of admiration. Li Ming sat there with a faint smile, occasionally interrupting to comfort the emotional Xu Meng.
It really did look like it.
Li Ming looked up and saw He Miao, who was looking at him thoughtfully not far away. He frowned and waved his hand to call her. When she came closer, he said to Xu Meng, who was standing by the side, “It’s going to be Miaomiao’s turn for the long-distance race soon. When you cheer her on, Miss Xu, remember to cheer on my behalf as well.”
A trace of disappointment flashed in Xu Meng’s eyes, but after she stood up, she put on a cheeky smile.
She hugged He Miao’s shoulder affectionately, patted her chest, and said forthrightly, “Do I need you to tell me that? She’s my goddess!”
He Miao pursed her lips with mixed feelings and did not respond to Li Ming’s eager gaze. She turned to look at her carefree friend. Her voice was not loud, but the two people present could hear her clearly. “Mengmeng is my best friend. With her cheering for me, I will definitely do my best in the competition.”
Li Ming’s face darkened. She understood He Miao’s underlying meaning. The bright smile on his face disappeared and he could only lower his eyes and stare at his ankle in a daze.
Xu Meng was so touched that she gave He Miao a big hug. She wanted to accompany her to the bathroom to change into the sportswear that she had prepared in advance.
Everything was ready. He Miao stood on the track, took a deep breath, and steadied her wildly beating heart.
The cheers on both sides of the track were endless, and the scene was no less than the relay race between Li Ming and Jing Yan.
The boys and girls gathered around the track and whispered, “Hey, who’s that girl on the innermost track? She’s so beautiful! How come I’ve never seen her before?”
“I haven’t seen her either! Oh my god, I didn’t even notice a goddess like her in our school!”
One Computer Science girl pursed her lips in jealousy and said disapprovingly, “She’s the one who used to pursue Jing Yan. Her name is He Miao, and she just transferred to Li Ming’s major!
“She’s He Miao? How was that possible? I’ve seen He Miao before, she looked like a country bumpkin. Is she the same person?”
When Xu Meng heard this, she immediately said sarcastically, “You call this a bumpkin? This was clearly the most beautiful goddess in the entire school, okay? What foresight!”
The people around her were suddenly speechless. Looking at He Miao’s delicate little face, no one could find a single fault.
No matter what the crowd said, the PE teacher’s starting gun still fired.
In order to preserve her strength for the final sprint, He Miao did not plan to put too much distance between herself and the others in the first two hundred meters. She only controlled her breathing and maintained a constant speed as she advanced.
One lap on the school track was exactly 200 meters, and He Miao needed to finish four laps. If she exerted too much strength in the early stages, she would be tired from the third lap, which was the best time to leave the others behind.
