Chapter 45 - Bringing A Dog To Party
Chapter 45: Bringing A Dog To Party
“Miss He, don’t worry about this dirty dog. Let’s go in quickly.” Zhou Zhu saw that He Miao had abandoned him and ran outside to hug an ugly dog. He immediately grabbed her arm in dissatisfaction.
The dazed Jing Yan sharply sensed someone approaching. He immediately widened his dog eyes and barked at Zhou Zhu, baring his sharp teeth and biting down on his hand.
“How did this dog follow us?” He Feng walked over in a rage. He reached out to grab Onion by the neck and throw him out of He Miao’s arms.
He Miao hurriedly turned her body out of his reach. Her voice was deep and pained. “Dad, if you don’t let me bring the dog in, I won’t be attending the party this time.”
“You dare to negotiate with me!” He Feng glared at He Miao, who treated the ugly dog like a treasure. He could not understand what his daughter was thinking!
Did she know how important tonight’s party was to the He family?!
He Feng did not expect He Miao to be so insensible that she would turn against him in public for a worthless dog!
Zhou Zhu’s eyes were fixed on He Miao, and he smiled at the furious He Feng beside her. “Uncle, Miss He is very kind. What’s the big deal about letting her bring the dog in?”
Hearing Zhou Zhu’s words, He Feng did not know what to say. He turned around angrily and apologized to Zhou Cheng. Zhou Cheng smiled and waved his hand. After a few words of praise for He Miao’s kindness, the matter was over.
Zhou Zhu bent down and softly said, “Miss He, your father has agreed. Let’s go in.”
He Miao nodded, holding the trembling Onion in her arms. She looked at Zhou Zhu gratefully. “Thank you for your help.”
“It’s no trouble at all.” Zhou Zhu smiled smugly and walked beside He Miao, talking to her about the ugly dog that had always been hostile to him.
“So it’s name is Onion!” Zhou Zhu smiled and was about to pet the dog’s head, but when he saw its dirty fur, he suddenly stopped and retracted his hand in disgust. Fortunately, Onion was not friendly to him. Seeing him reach out to touch it, it bared his teeth and tried to bite his hand.
Zhou Zhu quietly pouted and secretly cursed the stupid worthless dog.
He Miao patted Onion’s head and said softly, “Don’t bite. I’ll take you to get your wound treated.”
The dog in her arms quieted down instantly. He Miao called a waiter who was passing by and asked for some gauze and disinfectant. She sat in the corner with Onion in her arms and carefully applied the medicine on the dog.
Her movements were very gentle, as if she was treating a fragile porcelain doll. Her hands trembled slightly as she applied the medicine, afraid that she would touch its wound and make it more painful.
She carefully wiped the blood around the wound with a cotton swab and wiped off the grime on the surface to prevent the wound from getting infected.
After the treatment, the whole dog was wrapped in bandages, like a miniature mummy, funny looking and pitiful.
He Miao’s heart ached as she fed it some meat from the dinner party. She fed Onion with small treats.
He Miao was finally at ease when she saw it enjoying the food.
When she saw it collapsed at the entrance of the villa, she was afraid that she would regret it for the rest of her life if it died.
Jing Yan was eating his steak when he looked up and saw the stupid woman wiping her tears secretly. He could not help but feel irritated.
He raised his weak dog paw and placed it gently on He Miao’s arm, whimpering.
‘What’s there to cry about, this stupid woman? I’m not dead.’
He snorted coldly and turned his head away, not willing to take another bite.
‘Stupid woman, if you keep crying, I’ll go on a hunger strike and starve your ugly dog.’
He Miao’s tears turned into laughter at its behavior. She raised her hand and stroked its fur, her eyes full of love. “Alright, my Onion is comforting me, right? I won’t cry anymore, so you can eat some more, okay?”
This was more like it.
Jing Yan turned his head around and started eating the steak in her hand again. He was exhausted and had no energy left in his body. If he did not eat now, he might not be able to make it through the night.
Jing Yan was upset at the thought of her tears. Otherwise, he would not have lowered his head and eaten the food in her hand like a dog.
“Your dog is so intelligent. No wonder you like it so much.”
The annoying voice came from behind him again. Jing Yan coldly turned his dog head and glared at Zhou Zhu, who kept trying to get close to He Miao.
Zhou Zhu naturally noticed its gaze, and he smacked his lips and smiled. “It doesn’t like me very much.”
