Chapter 225: The hidden realm exploration -2
Chapter 225: The hidden realm exploration -2
Bai Lung stood there, trying to keep his body from shaking under the onslaught of the Void Qi. He could feel his origin weakening, the invisible energy of the Void Qi slowly eroding his life force.
His shadow roots felt as if they were being stretched taut, on the verge of snapping. He cursed inwardly, he had never encountered such a powerful force before.
“Junior brother… It seems you can’t handle it, I suggest retreating…”
“Junior Brother Han, you can get oppourtinies in future, I suggest not entering inside since you can’t handle mere void Qi,”
“Haah~ I feel weak, my energy is being sucked… My origin is slowly fading away… I am at already Half-Immortal stage,”
Around him, the other daoists were in shock.
Those who had come here hoping for a small gain and some knowledge were already collapsing to the ground spitting blood and pure immortal essence, overcome by the Void Qi.
Not to mention, each one of them were at minimum Half-Immortal realm… A being who would be worshipped at lower realm, a new virgin would warm their bed every night.
Amongst them, there was a young daoist who looked particularly flustered. He was shaking like a leaf, his eyes wide with fear.“Senior, don’t you feel the pressure from that Void Qi?” He asked Bai Lung, his voice trembling crazily.
“hmm…”
Bai Lung grunted, his expression a mix of discomfort and annoyance at his words, but seeing he was from Qing Li’s sect, he couldn’t do much.
He glanced at the scared young daoist and spoke bluntly.
“Of course I can feel it, do you think I’m blind? Can’t you see the state of the others around us? This Void Qi is no joke,” he splits like a venom, cold and brutal.
The Audacity of this junior to ask him about his condition… But, from the looks of it, the young daoist looks old with long beard and Hitler-mustache.
“B-but, how are you not affected, Senior?” The young daoist stammered, his voice laced with a hint of jealousy, after all, he too wished to explore the void emperor’s tomb for fortune and gain.
Hmph!
Bai Lung snorted with his expression a mix of disdain and irritation.
“Because unlike you, I have some experience and cultivation. A mere Void Qi can’t affect me that easily,” he replied, his voice dripping with condescension.
When it comes to bragging, Bai Lung can cross the finish line before the race even starts.
The young Daoist’s face turned red with humiliation. He was visibly embarrassed, as if he had just been publicly humiliated.
“You, you… ” he began, but Bai Lung cut him off bluntly.
“There’s no sense in panicking,” he said curtly.
“Either you have what it takes to enter or you don’t. If you can’t handle this level of Void Qi, then you have no business stepping foot into that realm. Simple as that,”
As bad and lethal as it sounds, it was a logical and reasonable answer.
By no means this little pathetic brat was a protagonist so, his wish to enter is nothing but a futile dream.
If this brat didn’t enter then he can live to see another day and another woman but if he does… May god have mercy.
…
The young Daoist’s shoulders slumped defeatedly
Even though he clenched his fist and gritted his teeth, he knew this Young looking senior was absolutely right, he wasn’t cut out for this.
He didn’t have the experience or the cultivation to tackle this level of danger.
As senior have said, either you can or you can’t.
He turned and skulked away, his tail tucked between his legs.
Bai Lung watched him go, feeling a twinge of pity.
But there was no time to coddle the weak, not in this situation. They were here to explore a Void Emperor’s tomb, not to babysit scaredy-cats that are afraid of deep water.
As the young Daoist left, Bai Lung focused his attention back towards the portal.
The Void Qi was still as strong as ever, and the other remaining Daoists were not doing any better… Few had already left.
And those who were hanging barely had; faces distorted with pain, and some of them looked as if they were about to pass out from the pressure.
And as for the remaining strong one, there was only a small reaction, but they were able to hold it using their own Qi.
And!!!
Among them, there was a female Daoist who was still standing strong.
She had a cold, steely expression on her face, like a warrior ready for battle. Bai Lung recognized her as a disciple from Qing Li’s sect, based on her robe and jade pendant hanging at her waist.
Come to think of it, Bai Lung remembers seeing her… Ah, this woman was the best friend of Qing Li, a fellow assassin of the sect.
Well, her coming to the exploration was reasonable too.
Not to mention, she looked unflinching in the face of the Void Qi.
Despite the evident pain she must be feeling, she stood her ground, determined to brave the storm.
She wasn’t even using her aura to protect her.
Bai Lung admired her tenacity. She didn’t cry or show any weakness like the others. She was a warrior through and through.
He approached her, the Void Qi making his breathing labored and legs numb.
“You holding up alright?” Bai Lung asked, his voice tense beneath the pressure, he wanted to have some chat with her, and as yes, if possible he also wanted to fuck her.
Well, that is nothing out of the ordinary knowing his nature.
She glanced at him with her cold shapry eyes, her expression not changing the slightest.
“As good as anyone can be, in this situation,” she responded, her voice steady despite the strain.
“This Void Qi is strong, but it will take more than this to bring me down,”
Bai Lung chuckled, his eyes glinting with approval.
“You’ve got guts. Can’t say the same for the others,” he said, glancing at the rest of the struggling Daoists.
“Hmmm… What are you talking about,” just then, the voice of Qing Li sounded from his behind, who looked completely not good.
However, Qing Li wasn’t fine as she could see the lust in Bai Lung’s eyes for her best friend.
Ugghh- this man was too much.
