Chapter 28: A Pen wishes to speak to you.
Chapter 28: A Pen wishes to speak to you.
This chapter is posted on 12:00 April 12th.
If you aren't interested in this, don't worry, a few chapters will be coming out at 12:05, so unless you are here instantly, in which case congratulations you have won the prize of waiting five minutes, you should be able to skip this chapter and continue reading.
To be honest, this date isn't very special, but it is this Pen's birthday, and this year it is a rather major one, although I won't tell which. You'll have to guess my age, haha.
To celebrate there will be a minor mass release, so you can look forward to that afterwards if you decided to stay and read this.
This novel [A Legendary Janitor] is doing fairly well at the moment, it'll be out for a bit over 2 weeks as of this chapter's release. I believe 15 days actually, and as of the moment of writing this chapter I'm currently at around 70 collections which makes me rather happy, as I started with the mentality that if I could touch just 100 people it would be worth it, and the rate at which it has approached that goal is well beyond my expectations.
I am aware that the style of writing I'm going for isn't particularly popular, it's rather slow and often derails to focus on details and some sort of philosophy. But it's the sort of story I want to write.
If I just wanted to get views, I could write a basic system novel with a tacked in romance, I've read enough to be able to be able to create a basic structure that could simply be filled in, but that isn't what I wanted to do. To me that feels rather empty.
So to all the readers who are still with me, I just want to say thank you. I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoy writing this, and if you ever have any feedback or suggestions, please do tell me, I'm always looking to improve.
But at the same time, it can be rather frustrating, seeing the novel stagnate and only gain two or three collections in a day, or a thousand webnovel views in a day, while seeing some of the novels that are almost exact copies of things that already exist grow exponentially.
Of course, this is nobody's fault but my own. After all, it cannot be expected that people like to read what I like to write. And it cannot be helped that I am stubborn enough to continue on this way.
All in all, I don't really have a point to what I am saying here. Perhaps I am just getting older, and feel like lamenting about these meaningless subjects. Perhaps I am just feeling lonely on this particularly night. In the end I will continue on what I am doing, and at this moment, I am simply a pen that wishes to speak to you.
In the end, all I really want to say is thank you for reading my work.
I don't particularly mind if you are paying or not (assuming I eventually get contracted, looks like there is hope on the horizon as of now), or if you are reading on a day to day basis versus binging every now and then. I just hope that you'll leave a comment or a review, to let this Pen know that there are other people out there who are interested in this form of writing.
Let me know what you think! It really does make me happy to see comments and reviews.
Thank you.
