Chapter 94 - A Serious Rule-Breaker
Chapter 94 - A Serious Rule-Breaker
Jennifer had no idea why she was asking such a question which could hurt his sentiments.
On the other hand, she was just curious but on the other side, she felt the urge to know.
The meet today with Amaira was considerate and valuable. She felt there is something deep in his family which he has hiding.
Otherwise, why will he live in such a flat which is so far from his family's mansion?
Or if he wanted her safe, then they could have lived together near his villa but.. so far away? She was already surprised by it
"I have no stepmother. That lady is simply Mr. Shawn's wife and nothing to me. Neither By relation nor through any other means." His reply was a straight and clear-cut indication that he doesn't like her at all.
Like? Well, she felt he has true hatred towards her from the bottom of his heart. His speech gave her a hint about his feelings toward his family as well.
"That feeling.. that someone took your mother's position in your father's heart must be really undigestable, am I right?" Jennifer asked with full cautiousness.
It was evident on his face to know that he had suffered a lot in the hands of the elders.
Javier didn't reply immediately. His silence was making her seriously feel as if he was hurt through words. She didn't mean anything wrong to happen to him yet it looks like he is remembering everything that happened to him in the past.
"I...I didn't mean anything wrong! If you don't wish to tell me it's totally.. alright.." Jennifer said in between her nervousness.
Javier replied, "You are not the first one who is asking me this. I have gone through a lot in my life. No need to feel guilty. I know you went to that museum which has two different photographs of my family. The same thing must have made you curious too."
"Exactly…"
Javier smiled at her and passed her assured smile. It made her heart skip a beat but at the same moment, she knew that his smile contained something really dreadful that happened to him in the past.
"The lady, Shirley Johnson, is a homewrecker. She came in between my parents and seduced my father. You can always expect a man like him to go for the tactics of a cunning and beautiful lady who was much younger than my mother. Who doesn't wish for a younger wife? My mother stayed at home while my father used to have an affair with his secretary who was no one else than the current wife and also the lady of Johnson's.."
Somewhere in the bottom of her heart, she had expected something similar. The thing she hates about big families is the same, why can't a man be loyal to his wife?
Unlike women, men don't like themselves to be detonated entirely by one woman and she can sense something similar happened in Javier's family as well.
"So what happened to your mother then... where is she?" Jennifer asked the but it made no sense there.
As far as she heard, it is a monopoly that is followed here, at least that is what she thinks.
Who would have followed polynomy in terms of marriage anymore?
This state is so developed, she doesn't think that the dame old practice will be followed here till now.
Javier didn't say anything related to his mother. As a giant mist covering his face, which hindered his feelings which he was turned to in his heart. "You know, my brother and I begged our father not to do anything wrong and to be a family man, yet he abandonment to just… leave it."
He sounded too rude and aggressive. But at the same time, she can expect that when a family breaks up, the people who get most affected are the children and the same thing might have happened with him too.
Jennifer didn't say anything further and ate the rest of the food. When Javier noticed that she wasn't asking questions anymore, he too didn't say anything else and let the topic hang in the middle air.
Earlier, she was simply curious and he helped with that. But now, Jennifer felt that asking too much will only add more to his pain.
Why would she like him to remember all the sour memories of the past where he suffered so much?
The dinner went in silence. She was done, and was ready to go and keep the dishes in the kitchen when Javier said from behind, "Jennifer, please don't even go to the next room from now on.."
Turning around, as she faced his expressions, which didn't change a bit. "Why? Is this something I shouldn't see?"
"Nothing much. It is just some personal space and has some... just follow what I asked you to do. Do not go there for one now..."
Javier's words made her feel puzzled but at the moment, she didn't reply much to reveal.
It Was his apartment and she has no other rights. Nodding her head, Jennifer made her way to the kitchen and sadly kept the dishes back in the sink. Jennifer retarded to the room to have a goodnight's sleep.
She didn't wait for Javier, thinking that he must be having some work and her hormones were already kicking at this time.
'If I don't sleep now, I'm pretty much sure that a scene will be created and... Javier will realize that I drank something..'
To avoid any kind of risk, and chaos to be produced by her, Jennifer tucked inside the blanket and kept her face against the pillow, dozing off to sleep really quickly.
She missed switching off the lights due to the exhaustion from the entire day and slept with a faint smile.
Meanwhile, Javier came inside the room, exactly after ten minutes. Walking near her bed, he looked at her with his fierce gaze.
For a few months, his eye never tore from her. The view was proving his utmost satisfaction and harmony for which he has been longing for years!
In The end, he switched off the lamp beside her bed and the entire room's lights were off. The darkness overshadows the light. But at the same time, Javier's urge to touch her sweet face for once, and caress her cheeks slightly was grown on his chest. Despite that, he knew the boundaries which he couldn't cross for now.
After a few minutes more, Javier went back to his other room where he straight away walked to the minibar and looked here and there.
His eyes were breaching as that of an eagle to see bere and there, in the search of something.
In search of finding something, his eyes swept across the down, to see a glass which was used.
A dangerous light smile passed through his face when he thought, 'So, you drank something...Seriously a rule-breaker.'
