Chapter 64 - Well Wisher
Chapter 64 - Well Wisher
It wasn't as easy as she predicted. Jennifer wanted to smash her phone and give negative comments on the video which she recently watched but somehow stopped herself from doing so.
At last, she wasn't able to figure it out, what mistake did she commit? She followed all the instructions given… Yet the disaster happened and her house's kitchen was covered in smoke.
Jennifer sat on the ground along with a heavy heart. Due to her periods, she knew that it was evident that her mood swings were going to hit her up.
The entire scenario made her kind of emotional, creeping the feeling that she is so useless that she failed to make anything for herself?
Jennifer looked at the smoke that vanished out of the kitchen window. Never ever did she imagine the noodles to be burnt. "Looks like my luck is too bad.."
A pout appeared on her face. 'I guess there is nothing left in the refrigerator for me to make.. even if I make it I will end up burning up.'
Tears were on the edge of falling through her cheeks yet somehow she was able to tame her feelings. But when she was on the verge of drowning more into the sorrow, the house bell rang.
Jennifer averted her eyes to the door and was surprised to learn that someone was outside. 'But didn't they all say that they will be late?'
All her roommates weren't as sincere as her, to spend her weekend night here. Clubbing, having drinks was their foremost motto, adding to have some fun. Moreover, coming back home with someone… wasn't allowed, as per their rules either.
At last, Jennifer pushed herself up from the ground and walked near the door. Peaking through the door hole, she saw no one outside. It was empty
Slowly, Jennifer opened the door to find the entire lobby empty with only lights lited on the way. 'Then who could have pressed the button?' She was unsure who could be there and was ready to close the door…. until her eyes fell down near her foot.
There was a parcel wrapped. It looked like someone left with some different intention. Clueless, who the person would be.
To begin with, she doesn't feel defensive as well. Going according to her instincts, Jennifer finally took the parcel with her inside the house and locked the door carefully.
She placed the parcel on the table and opened it in one go to find the food… the aroma of tasty food entered into her nostrils. She was glad to know that she won't have to return back to bed with an empty stomach.
Yet, who left this for her?! Who could be that person!?
This wasn't enough to understand but her eyes averted to see a short note attached to the box, which was handwritten. Taking it up in her hand, she read it carefully.
'It's okay, don't get disheartened if you weren't able to cook for the first time. Here, have the food, and do not give up ever again. Smile!'
She was clueless about the sender, her well-wisher. Who thought so much about her? Who knew that she would not be happy with her work today and the blunder she created just made her mood turn gloomy.
But still, the next person was able to look forward and helped her, at least anonymously.
Jennifer picked the spoon and started eating the rice which was placed neatly with some vegetables. The curd added taste and due to her hunger, the food itself tasted delicious.
Moreover, with each bite she took, she was praising the chef even more and more. It made her mind a little better and her gloomy mood took thirty degrees turn to be happier.
A faint smile spreading on her fine lips, recalling that even in this foreign place, someone was able to come forward and extended a helping hand.
'At least, now I can sleep peacefully…'
*FLASHBACK ENDS*
….
Back to the present, Jennifer was still cooking inside her kitchen, when a sleepy smile lingered on her face while missing the first time she ever tried to cook.
The experience was truly horrible yet somehow it gave her more confidence. Why can't she cook? All she needed was the right guide and yes, she was finally able to make her own food in the house, back in university days.
'I guess if not for the person who sent me that food, I won't have tried cooking ever in my entire life.' She was grateful for her well-wisher, but unfortunately, she never got the hint to know the person personally.
It was anonymous and the person never came forward to reveal himself or herself so she too acted as if the incident never occurred.
At the same time, Javier finally got out of the shower and stepped inside the kitchen to witness Jennifer still in a daze while smiling as if she was dreaming the best days of her life.
Coming close to her body, he tapped on her shoulders and raised his eyebrows, "What happens to you?"
Jennifer halted back when she was pulled down to reality and just shook her head. "Nothing... The dinner will be ready in a few minutes. Go, sit on the table."
"As per your wish Boss Taylor!" Javier wore a white color plain shirt matching with black pajamas. It was easy to sleep on them and comfortable too, to wear after such a long tiring, and adventurous day.
After a few minutes, Jennifer appeared out of the kitchen with the four bouls in her hand. She placed them on the dining table and when Javier felt its aroma, his stomach growled in hunger.
"Looks.. like you made something delicious..," Javier commented and Jennifer nodded. "Try it out once. I'm pretty sure you will love it."
As said, Javier took one bowl and took a spoon to taste the soup she made. But at the same time, Jennifer suddenly pulled the knife from the fruit basket and just held it in her hands, without uttering even a single word.
"What will you do with the knife?" He asked noticing that she wasn't in any mood to cut fruits either. At first, Jennifer simply played without speaking but later replied back, "Well.. just taking precautions. If you utter any nonsense, I will chop you into pieces and if you praise, I will keep the knife back into the basket. so…think before you speak about food."
