Chapter 61 - Mrs. Taylor Johnson?!

Chapter 61 - Mrs. Taylor Johnson?!

His words brought tears into Amaira's eyes. Holding the strap of her bag, she controlled her streams of tears and silently walked off the place without uttering even a single word or showing her face to him anymore.

Ryan looked at Amaira's figure and somehow he felt holes in his heart. Staring at Javier with a frown settled on his forehead, "there was no need to be rude."

"I...It wasn't entirely my intention.." Javier knew that he committed a mistake but there was no way to correct it. Moreover, his heart was still persistent to hold memories that stick to his mind like glue. Getting them out is never an easier task.

Jennifer stared at Amaira, whose excited mood had turned into a gloomy one. She looked at Javier and passed him daggers, "You could have been polite to her. She is your baby sister."

"She isn't my sister.." was what Javier replied but this made her confused. At the same time, her eyes averted to Ellen who signaled to just stay calm, despite the situation and to not tag him related to Amaira's conversation.

'How can he say that she isn't his sister? She was so cute…' Jennifer was looking forward to hearing any clue from him yet he didn't utter a single word anymore concerning the incident.

The four of them took their car and left the mansion, to hit the road in the direction of the countryyard. It made no sense to her, why would they bring her to a countryside area instead of making her sleep in the main villa?

But her heart never allowed her to ask any further questions either to Javier or from Ryan or Ellen. Her mind wasn't convinced but somehow she managed to tame herself and again, gained interest in the fields.

"Wow… the view is so good.." she never felt that something like this will come into her sight in his state. There was everything in Lucas's state but speaking about beauty and greenery, there was no chance because people are too much busy to build empires and businesses.

"Many people here like farming and they keep themselves engaged in the same here. As the land is separated and located at a certain distance from the main empire where the high rise buildings and pollution." Javier explained while their car moved inside the farms on the road.

"So… that is why they're so clean. They never come in contact with pollution directly right?" Jennifer turned around to look at Javier who was sitting beside her and nodded his head. It was indeed because the people in his state loves farming and natural beauty to no extent.

"This initiative is literally good. I believe that no one else must have thought of such an idea ever." Jennifer replied and once again looked outside the window with her glitter eyes

Javier was smiling too but when he realized that he hasn't told her the major reason for going, he had the double conflict whether to break it or not.

'Just tell her otherwise it would create more chaos..' he sighed and coughed a little hard to gain her attention towards him.

When he saw her waiting for him to say whatever he wished, he started, "So, we are heading toward my apartment. It is near this place and soon we will reach it. There as usual we will live under one roof and away from the noise and hustle of regular life."

"But why?" she asked once again to which Javier had no one reply to give her. There are many things which he is still afraid to tell her. How will she react to what he is thinking ahead?

But before he could have answered anything else, she threw another question on his shoulders, "What did you talk about with your family? Were they angry with you?"

"How come you predicted that?" For sure he never told anyone what he went through in detail, except Ellen but that too in his code words, not much because she must be having no idea about his family circumstances.

Jennifer smiled when she replied, "because of your face. I have been living under one roof with you for at least the last 1 and a half. Do you think that I won't know anything about what you are thinking? C'mon!" She was really shocked to learn that he didn't guess that his own expressions changed since he walked out of his house.

Javier was the toughest spot. 'Shall I tell her that...my family wanted to keep her in cells?' but he is too confused. How will she react to what he will say? at the end of the day, he can't hide the truth much from in. After all, she is a smart woman.

"They...wished to cage you under cells so that they blackmail Lucas but in the end, as I promised you earlier that I Will protect you, so to keep my promise I had to go through a rough conversation." he stopped in the middle and at the same moment, he didn't give her any way to say further.

"Don't worry, I Handled things. You need not worry and there is no need for guilt as well. My family relationships are already not on good terms so the fight wasn't because of you but because of other reasons as well."

Making Her feel uncomfortable was the last thing he wanted. Moreover, making her feel guilty about his fight with his family solely because of her was also not his intention.

He spoke whatsoever with a clear mind, to make her realize that they aren't in a good position at this time.

"Oh..'' Jennifer didn't reply much briefly and just averted her gaze back to the view, not minding his words at all. Javier was at least relieved to know that she isn't overreacting in any way which was too surprising.

Yet, the rest of the ride was in absolute silence. Neither Jennifer nor Javier spoke anything and just kept things to themselves. After a drive, it was almost sunset when they arrived under the apartment where was the flat owned by him.

Jennifer and Javier, both them got out of the place and at that moment her eyes fell on the large building. She never lived in an apartment to this date. It was the first time she would be witnessing.

"let us go now." Javier tangled his hand into hers but before she tugged him behind and looked towards the car. "Won't they both come with us as well?"

"They have their separate place to live. Disturbing them isn't the best option since their personal life is different." Javier answered and at last, Jennifer just nodded her head understanding, recalling that they both didn't even live with them in the villa.

But she was curious, aren't subordinates supposed to live with their boss to protect them? Keeping her curious nature aside, she didn't pester on it for longer time.

They went through the lift and after five minutes, finally, they arrived at the entrance of the door which Javier unlocked through his fingerprint.

"Welcome to the dear home, Mrs...I mean Ms. Taylor"
