Chapter 34 - Hungry Beast
Chapter 34 - Hungry Beast
Any other organization? Why will they wish and try to know about Jennifer? Was it because she is Lucas's fiance or some other reason?
Moreover, he is aware that Lucas has enemies all over the World. But she wasn't of much use. He too himself was aware that Lucas isn't really loyal to her, neither madly in love with her. The reality was surely something else.
Tons of questions flooded in his head. He had no clue which one to believe and what to choose so he decided to leave this matter for some other free time.
"Were they able to find any leaks of ours?" Lucas's tone flattened with the time. He was less focused on his own safety, rather keeping her safe is a major motive.
"No, they failed to find anything. Our people traced them before they could have waived any of your locations and islands. You are still safe.. at least.." This brought a sigh escaped Javier's lips but he was still alerted
"Make sure the whole island is on high alert. No one should be able to get here, no matter what happens now." That was all he said and hung up after. Despite the smoothness in everything, he can feel himself getting more curious to know about her.
There was no way that Jennifer was an ordinary woman, she was the future Mrs. Smith whom he had kidnapped. He was in a deep daze but then, something suspicious was raised in his head. 'Did she…'
But putting those thoughts behind, Javier just changed into home wear and stepped out of his room to find a delightful view.
Jennifer was in the kitchen, wearing a white apron with her hair tied into a bun that was attached through a pin. Some strands of hair were out of the messy bun yet her beauty glowed.
Javier stood with the support of the wall and just looked at the amazing and shocking sight. "Did the Sunrise from the west today?"
His husky voice was able to gain her attention when Jennifer looked into his deep gazing eyes and for a second, almost forgot what she was exactly doing.
His effect on her was increasing day by day, but she tried to control her inner demons as well. It wasn't suitable for a lady, like her, in her prime age to stay under the same roof with a handsome man.
Lowering her face, she timidly replied, "No... Sun always rises from the east."
"Then why am I seeing the precious Ms. Taylor making breakfast for the two of us? Is there some kind of special treatment that I'm getting today from you?" He likes to tease her.
His head was lazily against the wall, a hungry husband waiting to devour the food made by his wife but still, the beast inside him was asking him to just punch on the prey.
"There is nothing like that. I thought that maybe you were.. sleeping and I got up early. Yesterday you made breakfast, dinner, and everything so I thought why not do it today." Jennifer didn't sound like usual.
She kept her face down and just concentrated on her cooking. But the strands of hair were continuously coming on her face, which kind of irritated her.
Seeing her in such a manner, Javier walked back into his room and came with a hairband in his hand. Walking closest to Jennifer in the kitchen, he stood behind her with almost no gap in them.
Meanwhile, Jennifer can feel the warmth of his body, despite their bodies not even touching each other. "W..what are you doing?"
"Putting a headband into your hair so that they won't disturb you while cooking." He gently took all her hair into his hand and finally put a hairband on them.
Jennifer was surprised by his sudden touch. Honestly, she never expected him to be so careful to notice that her hair was constantly bothering her.
"T...Thank you so much." Her eyes flew to his smile that was kind of seductive but she immediately shifted her focus. 'I should avoid him and his smile… God! Why have you sent such a good and handsome man as my kidnapper?'
"You're welcome." He came to the kitchen top and stood in front of her. "So, you do know how to cook?"? he asked in the happiest tone when he noticed how cleanly she chopped the vegetables.
"I learned it when I was in university. My friends and I stayed in the house for some time, so she never cooked. With? no option left, I decided to learn cooking and started trying different dishes." She had no idea why she even revealed such a piece of deep information to a stranger like him.
There was no need. He simply asked her the basic question and she could have given him a short reply instead of such a detailed one.
"That means you can also make delicious food and I can eat it. Nice, it won't burden me with everything." The wide smile was reaching his ears when he realized that day, he might get food that was made from her hand.
Jennifer lifted her eyes to look at his smiling face, "What is so impressive about it that you are laughing?"
"I just feel that you look cute while cooking. You should cook more often." Jennifer controls her urge to roll her eyes.
'Just a pervert as always.' He was flirting with her so openly that it made her kind of blush. Not only that, she can feel his intense gaze lingering on the swift movements of her hand, making her somewhat consious of herself.
With this, his phone rang which was still inside the room. Hearing the sound, Javier walked back into the room, leaving her once again alone in the kitchen. Meanwhile, when Jennifer noticed that he finally left, did she sigh in relief.
'Looks like.. he doesn't know that I called.. otherwise he won't be smiling so much..'
