The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1346 Angels' Ruse

Having to deal with mutated animals from day to noon—the male Dark Elf anticipated having the night for himself. He was hoping that he would spend his time, grooming the plants in his garden but that was not possible now.

Instead of having the night for himself, he found his daughter was in danger.

Knowing how cruel the world could be—his entire family wore a rare artifact.

It was tied to the life force of the wearer, and would send distress signals to the others if the wearer's life force was dropping. Even if it hasn't come to that point yet, the wearer was able to activate the distress signal manually.

Upon finishing the mission from King Jorik, he and his wife returned back to the capital city.

Along the way, his wife realized that she had lost her artifact, maybe from the earlier battle.

Because of that, the pair returned with the hope of finding the artifact.

However, his artifact was soon activated, heating up rapidly.

Since his wife's artifact was lost, he initially thought that someone had taken the artifact and was attacked, thus activating the artifact. It was karma for the person who took it, he did not feel pity at all.

Once he arrived at the scene, however, he found Naela sprawled on the stream.

Her body was soaked with her own lifeblood.

Instead of what he initially thought, the worst happened.

He and his wife were in the area thus they were able to reach Naela quite quickly.

Knowing that Naela is in good hands, the male Dark Elf decides to suppress his emotions.

As opposed to going back and checking whether his daughter was alright—he stayed behind to get to the bottom of the situation here. Investigating the area, he only saw blood, not even one single remains.

"Our sentries made regular checks here, who is attacking?" He mused in confusion.

Boom!

Hearing the sound of battle in the distance, the male Dark Elf frowned.

Not staying idle, he quickly went over to the source of the sound, to see what went down.

It didn't take long before he reached the source of the battle.

He was about a mile away from the battle—and from the distance he saw a phantom moving at neck-breaking speed. Keeping up with its speed was a struggle even for him, but he could tell that the phantom was chasing something equally fast.

Determining who they were was too hard, it would be futile for him.

As opposed to doing that, he kept track of their energies.

But then, as he followed the battle, he stumbled across a remain.

Unlike the ones from earlier, this one was still recognizable.

It was a very fresh corpse with the torso gone, ripped off from the looks of it.

Kneeling beside the corpse, the male Dark Elf checked its pants—and found that it belonged to one of the Dark Elf corps, "If Lord Kyran, really is the one howling, then someone, must be angering him. And this sentry is unfortunate to be nearby"

Troubled, the male Dark Elf paid his respect and continued on ahead.

He followed the battle and realized something.

"Both of them are gradually moving to the east. It seemed to be a high-speed chase, but just in case, I'll check if there are any sentries to the east," the male Dark Elf mused—and dashed to the side, searching for other sentries that might get dragged into this.

Since the battle was chaotic and all over the place, he was able to lap them.

Moving past the battle, he reached the east first.

"Sir Zyrkan, is there a fight nearby? Should I report back to Lady Iris?" A Dark Elf above a tree looked down and saw the male Dark Elf, Zyrkan approaching. He sensed the bad battle in the distance and didn't know what to do.

Fortunately, Zyrkan was here to help him decide.

Upon hearing this, Zyrkan nodded his head, "Report back to Lady Iris,"

"Also, call all of the sentries in the area and tell them to go back. My order" He instructed.

Nodding his head, the Dark Elf took out a flute and blew on it.

It was a spell that would tell the other sentries to go back.

Just before the Dark Elf left, he looked down at Zyrkan once again, "Sir, there's a colony of Humans passing the border. I was about to ask if there's any authorized passing, but since this happened, should I tell them to flee too?"

"Humans...?" Zyrkan frowned. "Go on ahead, I'll tell them"

Other than the Humans from Dargena City, there shouldn't be any Humans in the area.

Even though Dargena City said nothing about the colony, they must be Humans from there.

Pointing in the direction of the Human colony—Zyrkan moved once again, he needed to reach them before the battle did. Zyrkan whistled and from the side, a mutated panther came from the side to come to his aid.

It belonged to his wife who is apart of the Night Sisters but it also came to know him.

Now that he was riding the mutated panther, he was even faster.

Soon, he saw several blobs of light in the distance, which he assumed to be the colony.

Glancing to the side, Zyrkan gritted his teeth as he saw the fierce battle was about to reach the colony before he did, 'If I use the spell to increase our speed, we could reach the colony and give them enough time to escape'

Nodding his head, Zyrkan channeled his dark nature energy.

Dark bronze energy began to swirl on the mutated panther's hind legs, enhancing them.

But as the spell was about to propel them forward, a shadow struck from the side.

Zyrkan leaned his head back as a dagger brushed past, inches away from slitting his neck.

He fell from the mutated panther but landed on his feet, ready for a battle.

Likewise, the mutated panther turned into a black smoke and materialized behind him

It snarled and bared its fangs at the tree to the side.

Coming out of it nonchalantly was a figure that looked Human.

But behind her were crimson wings, the exact same shade as her glowing eyes.

'An Angel...? I thought they were still beyond the Saltura Bridge, how could they reach here?'

Zyrkan was perplexed, the Angels shouldn't already be here.

He had heard about the Angels captured in Dargena City but even then—that was a peculiar case, there shouldn't be many Angels roaming around here. On top of that, if there were, the sentries would've picked up their senses.

No matter how fast or sneaky they were, the sentries would sense them.

'Unless, did they find a means to travel without using energy...?' He thought, frowning.

Focusing back on the moment, Zyrkan carefully kept his eyes on the woman.

Smiling arrogantly, the woman stopped right in front of Zyrkan, drew her sword, and marked the ground in front of her with it in a straight line. It was obvious what she was trying to say, 'go through this line and you're dead', she said from that gesture alone.

Zyrkan frowned harder, 'But why...? What is the purpose of this?'

...

Rex stopped mid-track and raised his gaze.

<Notice: The user's pack member, Kyran Cervantes, has gone berserk>

< An appropriate penalty will be given for failing to keep the Beta Enforcer in check!>

<Calculating...>

<Calculation completed!>

<Penalty has been delivered: -30% Sanity stat, +25% Berserk stat, and -1 Level>

Upon the last notification appearing, Rex grunted and grabbed his face.

He was already having trouble keeping his Sanity above the 50% level due to the incoming Demon Moon and now he was struck with this. Now, his Sanity stat dropped to 23%, lower than the 30% mark, which was a dangerous area.

Not to mention, his Berserk stat rose to 65%.

Since the Demon Moon influenced a Werewolf's mood greatly, his stats were a mess.

It was two more days, until the Demon Moon came—and if his stats stayed like this, he would go on a rampage and that wouldn't be pretty. Nobody could stop him with his current level of strength.

Fortunately, the Second Breath was here so the mutated animals could beat him.

"If it comes to worst, I'll throw myself to Shadow or something," Rex mused.

For better or worse—he knew that it would be extremely hard for him to die especially when he is berserk. Not only was his regenerative ability amplified, his senses were also amplified, killing him would be a nightmare.

So if there were no time, he would do that.

Just then, however, his eyes widened when a foreign energy infiltrated his body.

Rex looked down and realized that it was Luna energy, "Evelyn...?"

As soon as he chanted that name—a purple smoke seeped out of his body and morphed into a figure, it was Evelyn. Seeing this Rex raised an eyebrow, "I know that we're connected but I don't know you could do this"

"Do you think I would stay the same and not progress?" Evelyn asked cheekily.

Upon hearing this, Rex chuckled, "I guess you'd also find a way to become stronger"

Soon, Evelyn's expression turned stern.

"Is this because of Kyran?"

"Yes, something happened to him. Can you contact him and report back to me?"

"I could but why don't you go there yourself? Aren't you on the way back?"

"I am but there's a change of plan, my clone would come back to deliver Agatha, safely. I am at the Dark Elves right now, so I will check on him myself. For now, can you help me with this condition I'm in?"

Evelyn nodded and began using her Luna energy to appease his condition.

<Notice: the Luna is consoling the user. Sanity stat is increasing...>

Seeing the notification, Rex nodded as he forgot that a Luna could do something like this.

Even though it would be better if he was with Evelyn, this would have to do for now.

As he was being massaged by the Luna energy, clearing his mind, he realized something.

"Evelyn, stop for a second..." He said suddenly.

Confused, Evelyn stopped and asked, "What's wrong?"

Instead of answering, Rex focused back on the System as he thought of something.

System, what would happen exactly if I went berserk?

<Notice: the user would lose your mind and attack everything in sight without stopping>

And if I'm wounded?

<Regardless of the state of being, the user would keep attacking. Death is the only way—to stop the user while the full moon is still shining, that is the curse of the Werewolves, and the user is not exempted from it>

If there's nothing more to kill around?

<The user would move to the next area and the next and the next...>

What would steer me in that condition? Is it random?

<No—it depends on the current full moon's effect. Blood Moon would make the user enticed by a crowd of living beings, Banished Dark Moon would make the user move to a darker, and darker place>

And for the Demon Moon?

<For the Demon Moon, the user would be inclined to fight the strongest in the area>

Upon reading the last notification, Rex couldn't help but smirk, "Oh... that's interesting"

"Hmm? What's interesting?" Evelyn asked.

But from the smirk Rex was wearing alone, she could tell that he was up to no good.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Just come back, and don't do something stupid," She said, reprimanding him. "I already took the initiative to prepare the dungeon underneath the castle. Seems like Lycaon—also has the same problem as us, there are a lot of magical restraints down there"

"Perfect to keep Werewolves at bay during full moons," She added.

As opposed to listening to her, Rex waved his hand.

"No need," He said, rubbing his chin in contemplation. "I think I had a better idea"

"Also, you could stop tending to me now..." He added.

Evelyn's expression shifted to worry when he said that, she sensed Rex was stressed, so she came to help, but for some reason, Rex decided to refuse her help, "What are you planning to do now..."
