Chapter 714 The Meeting
Chapter 714 The Meeting
"I am not complaining about my current situation, so I won't get a divorce!" Fu Juan affirmed. She was adamant about her decision, and wouldn't want to change for any reason.
Seeing her stubborn she was, they gave up on trying to talk to her.
"How long do you plan to stay here?" Grandfather Fu asked, but Fu Lei tried to object to him changing the topic.
"Father?" Fu Lei cakes with a frown, but the old man raised his hand to stop him from speaking further, while still fixing his gaze on Fu Juan.
Fu Juan took a few seconds to think through before replying, "Four months."
"Why would you stay here for that long? We thought that 2 weeks or a month is all you would need." Fu Geming said to her.
"You can't stay here for 4 months. You are married, and since you are refusing a divorce, I think you are capable of enough of having the challenges that come with it." Fu Lei said to her.
Fu Juan wasn't expecting her brothers to side with her or agree with her, so she went on to say her mind, "I just need a new environment to relieve my stress and air out my mind."
"Is that the reason you have been giving us troubles since you stepped foot into this house? If you needed a place to clear your mind, you should have gone on a vacation." Fu Geming said to her.
He couldn't help but think that she was venting all her frustrations on them, instead of doing it outside.
Grandfather Fu who has been pondering over a matter, said to Fu Juan with a stern facial expression, "You can't stay here for more than a month."
"Father, please, I need this time off to sort myself out otherwise I will die of depression!" Fu Juan cried out.
One month? That was too short for her to recover and relax. If she went back to that house without thinking of how to deal with her husband's demand for a divorce, she would lose her mind.
"Out of pity, I will allow you to stay here for a month." Grandfather Fu said but when Fu Juan wanted to protest, he said to her, "If you beg me, you can just leave with your things tomorrow, and then, you will be forced to come up with another way to survive."
Fu Juan was afraid that her father would change his mind, so she shut her mouth immediately. As for her brothers, they were totally against her staying for a month, talk more of 2 months.
Since their father's decision was final, they had to accept it, but not without giving her a Fu Juan a fair warning.
"If you are going to stay here for two months without being kicked out before then, ensure you keep to the rules of this family. You have to respect everybody here, and before you order anybody around, don't forget that Hee is the Mistress of this family, despite you being a daughter of our family." Fu Lei warned.
Fu Geming added as well because he would not like to deal with his sister's troubles anymore. "You really have to stop making trouble, and don't forget that there is a child here."
After they had finished speaking, Grandfather Fu spoke as well He reminded her of the daily rules just in case she had forgotten because of her twisted mindset.
After that, Grandfather Fu went on to break this news to her. "After today's meeting, we are going to call your husband over."
Immediately Fu Juan heard that she flared up, "Why?"
"We can't only listen to your side of the story without hearing him out. At least we can do that before we pass a judgment." Fu Lei said with a fierce gaze on her.
Fu Juan cried about how nobody trusted her and Fu Geming asked how thru could trust her when she was acting like a tyrant in their house, and who knows how she had been treating her husband.
Next, grandfather Fu focused on the young woman she brought home.
"When did you adopt that young woman you brought with you?"
Fu Juan wanted to roll her eyes out of anger over the last judgment that was passed. She didn't was t her family to come in close contact with her estranged husband, otherwise, they would see how bad their relationship was, and ask her to divorce him.
Despite the turmoil going on in her heart, she still replied to him, "It's only been a few years."
"How on earth could you adopt an adult and bring her here without our consent?" Fu Lei asked angrily. He really didn't know what was wrong with his sister.
How could she adopt an adult without knowing how she was raised, and the kind of people and environment she grew up in.
Fu Juan understood their worries and went further to explain things to them. "I have known Lanying since she was young. I met her at the orphanage I used to visit, and I liked her so much when we first met, so I decided to sponsor her education. Adopting her has always been part of the plans but some conflicting matters delayed it until it was time for her college education."
Fu Juan went on to tell them about Lanying studying abroad and only coming back some months ago. She didn't forget to tell them her age, and any other information she could easily let out.
"In actual sense, are you trying to say that your husband had no idea that you made an adoption?" Fu Geming asked with a surprised gaze as Grandfather Fu and Fu Lei kept their gazes on her.
Fu Juan fiddled with her fingers as she replied, "It's possible that he knows, but that is none of my business. I don't need his consent in other to adopt a child when he didn't require my consent before keeping a mistress and having children with her.
