Chapter 11 - I Like Your Family Tradition
Chapter 11 - I Like Your Family Tradition
"I won't be rest assured till you eat something." Grandfather Fu said to her before turning to his grandson to instruct, "Fu Hua, take Jia Li to eat something healthy. She has been taking care of me since yesterday, she needs to be looked after."
"Ok." Fu Hua agreed without another word.
Jia Li looked embarrassed, so she put her head down.
"Jia Li, don't be embarrassed. They are my grandsons, they don't bite." Grandfather Fu assured her with a kind smile on his face.
"Really, we don't bite," Yingpei added with a knowing smile.
"But grandfather, who will watch over you if I leave?." Jia Li asked worriedly. She has never let the Old Man be by himself, so she was a bit worried since he was a patient and couldn't do things by himself.
"It's only kids that need to be watched over. But if you are worried about me being alone, call the doctor on your way out, I need to chat with him." Grandfather Fu said to her, to get her mind off worries.
"Okay, I will do that grandfather." Jia Li quickly agreed.
Fu Hua and YingPei both spared her a glance.
'Grandfather?.' She dares to address their Grandfather like she was a member of their family.
Jia Li could feel their eyes on her. It wasn't harmful, but she was still worried.
'Have I misspoken?.' She thought.
"Miss Jia Li, this way," YingPei called out to her as Fu Hua already stepped out of the room.
"Oh! Grandfather, see you later." Jia Li said as she waved to the old man before leaving the room with YingPei ahead of her.
On their way out, Jia Li called the doctor as instructed.
"You are seriously worried about my grandfather, what's your reason?." YingPei asked her as he walked beside her.
"Grandfather Is old and can not do a lot of things by himself now he is a patient, so I'm worried about him." Jia Li replied with her gaze in front.
Fu Hua was already walking ahead of them. He acted as if he didn't want to have anything to do with her.
"I see. You saved our grandfather, and for that we are grateful." YingPei said to her in a modest tone.
"There is no need to thank me. I would have saved anybody in that situation." Jia Li responded.
"I must say you are brave to have done that in that kind of situation," YingPei said as he gazed at her.
Jia Li nodded in reply after finally sparing him a glance.
That little glance she gave to him, helped her to ascertain his facial features. She could tell he was good-looking.
Fu Hua who was walking ahead of them heard everything they talked about but didn't give any remarks.
"Miss Jia Li, you are a local. Can you recommend any good place for Lunch?." YingPei asked.
Jia Li looked troubled as she didn't have any idea on what to give him as a reply.
"I have no idea." She managed to say in a low tone.
YingPei found her answer to be ridiculous. "Are you not a local?."
"I am. But my family only eats home-cooked food. My mother doesn't allow my father and me to eat out. She says the food out there, is not healthy. And even though it's healthy, it can not be compared to the food prepared at home with a lot of love and dedication."
Jia Li's reply seemed to have caught Fu Hua's attention because he stopped in his steps and turned to give Jia Li a scrutinizing gaze before looking away and continued with his steps.
"Did I say something wrong?." Jia Li asked in a low tone.
Just now, when Fu Hua turned to look at her, their eyes locked together, and that was his she managed to get a little look at him.
She saw his facial features, but they were blurry because she didn't have time to take a look at them properly.
Fu Hua's eyes scared her, and that cold look on his face seemed to say, 'Keep Off', so she looked away immediately.
"You didn't say anything wrong. I like your family tradition." YingPei said to her as he managed to hide his laughter.
Both Fu Hua and YingPei had the same thought that Jia Li was truly ignorant and was still a child.
Outside the hospital when they got to the most expensive car parked around the vicinity, Fu Hua threw the car keys to YingPei, and he caught it fluidly.
"Miss Jia Li, get into the car," YingPei said to Jia Li, and she did as instructed.
Both brothers got into the from part of the car.
"Brother, which restaurant are we going to?." YingPei asked Fu Hua for his opinion.
"I don't know, I will go with your choice today. But I don't think there is any good place here." Fu Hua replied.
"Alright," YingPei said before opening the GPS map in his phone to search for nearby restaurants. And when he found one, he ignited the car's engine before driving out.
Jia Li sat at the back seat quietly without uttering a word and making any movements. Her eyes were on the road till they got to a restaurant.
Seeing them get off the car, she followed their actions as well.
"This is the place," YingPei announced.
"I hope the food is at least, platable." Fu Hua said in a not-so-good tone.
He disliked his current location.
"We have to manage until grandfather is discharged," YingPei said to him as they walked inside the restaurant.
As they walked in, they were welcomed by a waiter who directed them to a table.
The waiter asked for their order, as he recited all the available dishes the restaurant had.
"Miss Jia Li, can you make an order for us? You are a local and should know some of the best dishes here." YingPei requested as he turned to gaze at Jia Li.
